Wish there was a search option in the templates, as it becomes difficult to scroll as we add many templates.I have suggested the same months ago, and waiting for it! **Developer response:** Thanks so much for the idea. We have added searchbars throughout the app. The new version is now available in the App Store. ### 3/5 — Subject line limitation *2026-01-12* I would say for a mail merge app, maildash is OK You can place in-line placeholders for name, company, etc. Great. But, you can’t place named links in the template’s body. Also, you are limited in how many characters gos into the subject line…impeding me to send my group email. this is so frustrating and does not make any sense. Please, update this app to make it truly useful. This app is good because it retains the destination of the last message so I don't need to go through the contacts to send the text. I just start up MailDash then select the template hit send in MailDash and then send in the normal SMS window. Setting up templates is easy and setting the contact destination is easy too. I may explore some of the other features as they look quite useful. ### 3/5 — I want this for SMS also! *2009-11-07* I would love to have this for SMS as well! LIEBER SMS KOSTENLOS KAUFEN BILLIGER UND BESSER^^!!!!!! ### 2/5 — Getting there *2009-07-18* I stupidly bought this in the previous version & was livid when I discovered it did not work for sending SMS, which is what I bought it for. I felt totally ripped off. It has since been updated and now does send SMS by hooking into the clipboard. Mail Dash is far from perfect, but it now it actually does what it claims to do, which saves me from typing out the same SMS several times a day (I use it to remind clients of their appointment times via SMS). I was really pleasantly surprised to see that this app had been updated and now sends SMS, and hopeful of seeing further improvements in the future. ### 4/5 — Not bad Nice work around *2009-07-13* Converted to I-phone from Treo with the release of 3Gs, I have been looking for apps to replace the palm apps I am comfortable with, This one is pretty close to the "quick text" feature of the Treo Text Message. I have not utilized the e-mail portion of the program but could see it’s use for business. You can create a favorite contact list for quick selection and you can edit the text of the messages in the quick texts and add your own. You do have to "paste" the message into the native SMS program but this program does the copy and takes you to the native app. All in all it will stay off carpel tunnel a few years longer. Nice work-around to eliminate the whole gateway email thing the other programs in this group use to create the same effect. The recipient can respond directly to you and have no way of knowing you are using another program. Eliminate the “paste” portion and extra keystroke and it is 5 stars. ### 4/5 — SMS direkt schicken geht nun! *2009-07-09* Ich habe die App schon seit Oktober 2008 und kurz danach genervt gelöscht. Nun gibt es mit OS 3.0 ein geniales Update. SMS können nun direkt gechickt werden. Die App macht die Vorlage fertig und fügt den Text in die Zwischenablage. Mit wenigen Klicks ist die SMS dann direkt über die SMS-App weggeschickt: 1. Klick auf "SMS Senden" in Maildash 2. Klick auf "Send" in Maildash nachdem "Auf dem nächsten Bildschirm: Tap der Message-Box für 1 Sekunde, dann tippen Sie auf das Einfügen Button" erscheint um die SMS App zu öffnen 3. SMS-App ist offen: für 1 Sekunde ins Eingabefeld tippen 4. Auf "Einsetzen" tippen 5. "Senden" und das wars Bin nun super zufrieden. Ich sende oft SMS mit Vorlagen. Super ist: + reale SMS, direkt vom iPhone mit meiner Absenderkennung ohne Kosten/Umständlichkeiten beim Empfänger oder bei mir + SMS-Berichte: einfach *N# (bei meinem Netzbetreiber Base) vor die Vorlage setzen. Das IPhone unterstützt anders keine Übertragunsberichte (übers Menü wie jedes andere Handy). Ich habe auch eine Vorlage gemacht die für einen individuellen SMS-Text einfach nur den Code übergibt. + Es lassen sich der Name/Vorname des Empfängers, die aktuelle Uhrzeit/Datum in die SMS übernehmen. Auch kann die App automatisch nach Tageszeit Guten Morgen, Guten Tag oder Guten Abend schreiben :-) Bugs sind: - Zeilenumbruch: Returns werden nicht übernommen. Weder bei den Beispielvorlagen noch bei eigenen. Der Text wird nacheinander geschrieben. Bitte updaten! - alle Datumsersetzungen (Datum kurz/mittel/lang & Uhrzeit kurz/mittel/lang gibt es) bringen das gleiche Ergebnis: Die Uhrzeit mit Sekunden. Meine Wünsche sind: - SMS an mehrere Empfänger schicken können. Bsp: an 3 Freunde "Lust auf Kino heute Abend" smsn. - In die Vorlage den Empfänger integrieren, der muss aktuell immer wieder neu ausgewählt werden auch wenn diese Vorlage immer nur an den einen geht. - mehr coole Ersetzungen wie Guten Morgen/Tag/Abend. Wie wäre es mit dem Ort, Bsp: "Ich bin gleich bei Dir, fahre jetzt in x los" Wenn das alles möglichst zeitnah realisiert wird (noch deutlich vorm ersten Geburtstag der App) gibts von mir 5 Sterne. I don’t leave any reviews anyway. But this, I haven’t been able to figure out how to attach groups when I click on a group. I can’t select all from the group list. And then when I see the email come up even with one contact from my contacts in iOS it doesn’t fill in the placeholders with name last name company, etc. I would like to be proven wrong about this app because I really need it to work, but it does not. I will change my review if someone can show that me that I am wrong and how to make it work I’m relatively intelligence and I have not been able to discover how to do this. **Developer response:** Hi Rolo, We have upped the subject line from 40 to 78 characters based on recommendations in the current Internet Message Format specification, and have added the ability to import groups of contacts. The new version is now available in the App Store. ------------ Previous response... To send to a group you first need to create a Group by tapping the Star icon on the left side of the To Address field on the Email or Messages tab. Then add contacts to the Group from your Addressbook. After you have your Group created go back to the Email screen, tap the To Address field that spans across the top of the screen and tap on the Group you created, then tap the Send to Group button at the bottom of the list. Select the Template you wish to send, then tap the blue Send button. To send a generic message to all recipients using a single email tap "Single Message". Maildash will fill in whatever substitutions in the template it can and then display the iOS Mail panel with the template filled in and the group address placed in the Bcc field. To send a fully personalized email tap the "Multiple Messages" button. Maildash will personalize each email for each contact and display the iOS Mail panel for each message. The app has its functionality completely restored and is again my go to app for the application for which it was designed. Not often a team responsible for an application take the time to address updates so quickly. Excellent work guys, very impressed with the quick turn around and successful resolution. Top score in the customer satisfaction stakes. It’s a messaging app where customised messages can be created using a base message that then draws information from your contacts to personalise each message individually for a group message. I use it daily and haven’t found a better app to do these tasks without using an online CRM (which I also use when on my laptop). But from the phone— very good. We’ll done guys. ### 5/5 — fantastic program for business *2017-08-15* I could not live without this program. I need to send email responses back to customers while out. This program has allowed me to do that. I have full responses to all sorts of questions ready to go at the push of a button.
