## What is Maintenance Crew?

Owning a boat is a labor of love. Maintenance Crew helps you keep up with the labor so you have more time on the water.

Maintenance Crew is a calm, organized place for everything your boat needs — scheduled services, spare parts, and the manuals that tell you when, what, and how. It's native on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and your records live on your device — there's no Maintenance Crew account and no third-party server. Maintenance Crew is an annual subscription; full pricing and terms are below.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Plan ahead. Set up oil changes, impeller swaps, zinc rotations, and any other recurring service your boat needs. Quick-pick chips fill in common intervals. The dashboard surfaces what's overdue, what's coming up, and what's caught up.

Track every part. Catalog spare parts by name, part number, and supplier. See at a glance which parts run low for upcoming services. Ship's Store tells you what to buy before your next haul.

Know where everything is. Organize spares by stow location — "starboard lazarette," "engine room shelf," "Dock Box at the marina." Move parts between locations as you use them.

Pull schedules from manuals. Drop in a PDF owner's manual and let AI extract the maintenance schedule, parts list, and service intervals automatically. No API key? Paste the response from any AI assistant. Parsed manuals are cached locally, so you always have access to them, and the app works even when you have no signal.

Keep a complete log. Every job — completed, paused, or in progress — gets recorded. Filter the Ship's Log by system, task type, or date range. Search by name or note. Optionally tag entries with location.

BUILT TO BE USED, NOT BABYSAT

• Works offline — at the dock, on a mooring, or days offshore. Your records live on your device, with optional iCloud sync across your own Apple devices.
• Universal app — native on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
• Sample data — explore the full app with two example vessels before committing your own info.
• In-app help — bundled guides cover every feature, searchable offline.
• Light, dark, or auto theme.

PRIVACY BY DESIGN

Maintenance Crew stores everything on your device. Optional location tagging stays local — it's never uploaded. No analytics. No third-party SDKs. No tracking.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.2 — 2026-08-26

We've packed this update with major improvements to make managing your vessel easier, clearer, and more intuitive across all your devices!

* All-New Boat Projects
  Keep a standing list of fixes, upgrades, and wish-list items for your vessel. Track ideas without needing to assign due dates, link required parts directly to your shopping list, and cross them off when complete while preserving your history.

* Smarter Dashboard & Navigation
  Your Dashboard now organizes tasks into clear, self-hiding sections like "Needs you" and "Your boat now". Plus, iPhone now gets full access to the Departure Readiness scorecard, Inventory Overview, and Boat Projects!

* Photo Attachments on Log Entries
  Snap and attach photos directly when logging completed maintenance. Photos move straight to your Ship's Log, keeping a permanent visual record of your work alongside your original task reference photos.

* Search & Filtering Across Maintenance & Parts
  Easily find any task or spare part! Free-text search and status filters (Overdue, Due Soon, Healthy, Snoozed) are now live on your Maintenance lists and individual System detail pages.

* Streamlined Galley & Provisioning
  Track supplies with ease. Running low on paper towels or snacks now flags as an advisory item instead of turning your whole departure readiness ring red. Re-provisioning is simpler, and passage consumption rates now automatically aggregate across multi-stop trips.

* Faster Parts Receiving
  Confirming a parts delivery and stowing items is now a quick, single-step screen. Plus, co-skipper edits to parts and inventory now show up in your Partner Activity feed.

FIXES & IMPROVEMENTS

* Combined Voyage Logging: Log consumable usage and new purchases ("used 2, bought 6") in a single tap on your voyage log.
* Past Entry Corrections: Easily correct or adjust individual past voyage log entries without re-entering the entire passage history.
* Manual Page Links: Manual references on active work cards and calendar events are now visually distinct and tap directly to the right PDF page.
* Cleaner Notifications: In-app confirmation messages and alerts are now consolidated so you only see one clean notice at a time.

### 1.3.1 — 2026-08-02

My Boat, Calendar, Readiness, and Ship's Store no longer open to an empty pane on Mac or iPad — each one now shows something useful the moment you open it, and remembers where you left off next time you come back. On a wide Mac or iPad display, we've also capped how far your content stretches, so long lists and detail views stay comfortable to read instead of running edge to edge. On Mac, vessel photos now scale to fill the available width instead of rendering at a small, fixed height, and opening a Ship's Log entry shows it right in the detail column instead of a separate window.

When a co-skipper makes a change on a shared boat, you'll now hear about it right away — a brief notice appears no matter what you're looking at, whether it's one update or several logged in quick succession, and tapping it takes you straight to their full activity history.

This release also includes a number of smaller reliability and inventory-tracking fixes across the app.

Check out the companion MacOS app (included in the subscription). The Mac app now feels like a Mac app. Settings has moved out of the sidebar into its own native window, opened from the app menu or with ⌘, — General, Appearance, Maintenance, Inventory, Sync, Account, and Advanced, each its own tab. Sheets like Add Part and Receive Stock show one title instead of two, keep it fixed above the content as you scroll, and resize with your window instead of staying a fixed width. Several dialogs that used to pop up as separate windows — adding a part, adding safety gear or a compliance document, editing a vessel — now open right in place next to the list you're working from, so you never lose your spot, and right-click now brings up familiar menus across Ship's Log, Calendar, My Boat, and more.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-07-24

Passage Companion. Once you cast off, the app freezes what's aboard and tracks how it's actually holding up against your crew's real use — a calm "good for N more days" read, and a quiet check-in prompt only when something's genuinely running short or it's been a few days since you last looked. Track fuel the same way, by engine hours instead of the calendar.

A passage that runs long doesn't need to be ended and restarted — extend it, or mark it open-ended, right from where you're already looking.

Add a one-off task. Not every job needs a recurring schedule. Create a single dated task with its own target date, attach any parts it needs, and it lands on your calendar and shopping list like anything else.

Catch up on your co-skipper. A durable Partner Activity view lets you review a co-skipper's recent work any time you open the app, not just the moment it happens.

Registration and insurance, always at hand — a couple of taps away the next time a marina or a border crossing asks for your paperwork.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-07-12

Fixes a few small issues with Calendar Sync and adds an informative display of co-skipper activity.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-07-09

Share a boat with a co-skipper. Invite a partner, spouse, or deckhand to collaborate on one specific boat — they get their own synced copy, edits flow both ways, and every log entry shows who did the work. Sharing is private and invite-only.

Plan and provision. A new galley and consumables inventory tracks food, water, and fuel apart from your spare parts, and a trip planner turns crew, days, and distance into a shopping list for your next passage.

Know you're ready to leave the dock. On iPad and Mac, safety gear, provisions, registration, insurance, and overdue service roll up into a single departure-readiness check. Record your registration and insurance renewal dates so a deadline never slips past.

See what's due on a calendar. View upcoming maintenance by month or week, and add your service and expiry dates to Apple Calendar — or export a file for Google Calendar, Outlook, and anything else.

Get more from the Ship's Log. Each entry now records the parts you actually used, and a work chart plots where you've done your maintenance. Finished several jobs at once? Log the whole day together.

Manuals and parts. Scan a part's packaging to fill in its details, keep a manual as reference without parsing it, and set aside the tasks in a manual that don't apply to your boat. Bring your own AI key and you can now parse PDF manuals automatically in every build.

More polish. Photos sync across your devices, and low-stock alerts can tell you the moment a part runs low.
