## What is Makan?

remember every meal.

makan is a food diary you keep with friends.

most food apps help you decide where to eat next. they rank restaurants, they score them. they take a thousand strangers' opinions and turn them into one number out of five. then they ask you to do the same. a year goes by and you've got a list of places you went to, not a record of what you ate.

makan is the record. tap the camera. snap your dinner. tag the spot. that's it. your meals stay in your calendar, forever.

makan means "eat" in indonesian. fitting for an app built around remembering food.

share what you eat — with friends, not strangers.

your friends' meals appear alongside yours. choose Friends to see your friends, in the order their meals happened. no foodfluencer feed. no algorithm picking what you see.

what makan isn't:

it's not a calorie counter. nobody's grading your dinner here.

it's not the next instagram. no follower counts, no foodfluencers pushing brands, no AI guessing what you ate from a photo.

it's not a recipe app. we don't suggest what to cook.

a few things we won't do, because they'd defeat the point:

we won't let restaurants pay to be in your feed.

your record is yours. you can delete it whenever.

a few things people ask:

do my meals go public?
only if you want them to. by default, your posts go to friends. you can choose Public if you want.

what about restaurants?
when you tag a place, your meal joins your friends' meals from there. you'll see what your mate actually ordered. that beats five stars from someone you've never met.

what's the difference between a like and a crave?
a like is a tap of the heart. a crave saves the meal to a wishlist of things you want to try — mostly used when a friend posts something that makes you instantly hungry.

is there a streak?
yes. post a meal a day to keep it. miss a day and it resets.

remember every meal.

makan.
