Overall this is relaxing and enjoyable. I did have to ask Siri to get back out of the app though. ### 4/5 — Tree-mendous app! *2019-03-20* I love this app. It allows me to tune out the stresses of the day and create beauty (no matter where I am). I would suggest a few tweaks to make it 5 star worthy. 1. A zoom in and out function would be a huge help. 2. I wish I could go back and touch up old trees. 3. Finally it would be awesome if once I finish the tree the app would show an animation of tree from beginning to end. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Not enough features *2024-07-29* I’m not quite sure why everyone has been giving this app such a Good rating. The graphics are horrible and you can’t bend branches, grow new parts of the tree, and the cutting is bad. And there is not enough options of trees to choose from. I Don’t recommend this app at all. ### 1/5 — Total disappointment *2022-01-08* C’mon?!? Really?? There’s nothing to this. Maybe a gallery of your previous trees. ITS THE BEST PART ### 3/5 — Great idea but needs zoom feature.. *2014-11-16* I keep chopping off the wrong branches and having to slide undo. A zoom feature would enable exact branch clipping. Some extra tools would also make it interesting as well as letting the bonsais created be saved and grow in a virtual garden with virtual seasons. Then they could be returned to and trimmed once regrowth has appeared. Would also be really interesting to add root trimming. ### 3/5 — Relaxing and fun but could be better *2014-10-15, version 1.2* I really like the idea of this app. I love the randomly generated trees so every time it’s unique (I think. haven’t tested thoroughly). I find snipping branches off the tree almost as therapeutic as in real life. The frustrating thing is that this experience could be so much better. For example, not being able to turn the tree upwards to see it from every angle whilst cutting is annoying. There could also be more than just 3 tree varieties. I just want you to add more species of bonzai, and a bigger selection of pots. Also, I want to be able to train your bonzai with wires. Other than that, it's an awsome game!!! So fun to be able to play and grow your own animated micro tree. Bonsai are rarely planted in the center of a pot; usually at 1/3 or 2/3 position. 2. If you really get ambitious, add a grow button; then, the user goes back to prune. ### 4/5 — I really enjoy this app *2020-05-14, version 1.3* Some complain that it's not 'entertaining' but, it's the calmness and serenity of just sitting and trimming that is the appeal of Bonsai in the first place. This isn't a game with points or scores but I find it extremely calming for my anxiety.
