### 2/5 — Range Commands Not Working Anymore

*2021-04-30, version 1.4.4*

This didn’t work for dry fire but it works with my CoolFire Fine except range commands are no longer working for some reason.

### 4/5 — Mediocre ok app

*2020-06-07, version 1.4.4*

Picks up steel target as shots.
Good for cardboard targets in open air, when in woods the surroundings make it less accurate as it pics up Echo and cracks more often, Picking up supersonic crack as shot.

### 4/5 — A comparable option for a convenient shot timer.

*2020-02-20, version 1.4.4*

I’ve been using this for over 4 years now and had very good success with this shot timer app.
I have used professional shot timers for longer and still end up using this more than the others.
It’s not perfect, windy days you’ll get some weird feedback and some extra shots that were not there.
I run the sensitivity all the way down to 1% and still get ghost shots from time to time.
I’ll also pick up the bolt on an AR dropping after a reload occasionally.
But overall, it’s definitely worth the $10 vs the $50-100+ ones that the pros use if you aren’t willing to dump that much on a shot timer.
One more thing to add is the fact that I can go back years to look at what I was shooting and at what speed.
I’d appreciate an update to polish it up a bit after 3 years since the last one, but at this point I’m happy it’s still running and works.

### 3/5 — No Dryfire

*2019-11-04, version 1.4.4*

Worked great when I was shooting by myself at a private outdoor range with live ammo. Don’t even bother using the app for dry Fire, I turned sensitivity all the way up, no luck. Placed my phone on a table and dry fired over it, no luck. Put my phone on a chair, on top of the table so my pistol was about 2” away from iphone microphone after drawing and firing directly over phone. No luck. Pretty disappointed as this was the feature I was most looking forward to. Oh well.

### 4/5 — Does anyone know if this works with Bluetooth Headphones?

*2018-11-14, version 1.4.4*

I tried to reach out to the developer and have not gotten a response back. Works great for Dry Fire. I’d give it 5 stars if this would work with Bluetooth Headphones so I can practice without waking up the rest of the house.

### 3/5 — Way too sensitive

*2018-02-07, version 1.4.4*

I like the app overall, but it was way too sensitive. I was shooting outdoors, nobody else in the range, and set it to 1% sensitivity.

Every shot recorded was followed a fraction of a second later by a second phantom shot. I don't know if this was picking up the noise of the case dropping or the slide cycling or echo or what. There's no way I could use it at an indoor range.

### 4/5 — It's good

*2017-02-04, version 1.4.4*

Works for dry fire with an external microphone. One thing I have noticed is the timing of events seems a little off. Setting a par time of 1 second, I can break a shot right before the par beep sounds but it still reads a time of about 1.18

### 4/5 — Works okay

*2016-05-07, version 1.4.1*

The range commands are great, but yeah, as other reviewers have stated, this needs an Apple Watch app to make it even better... The timer picks up surrounding shooters and calls out wrong times. Using the mike on the watch could fix that...

### 4/5 — Works great

*2015-12-24, version 1.4.1*

I've used this quite a few times in a pinch to time friend or have the time me. I haven't used it by myself though because it's hard to fumble with my phone and then shoot. I would love to see an Apple Watch version so you can start the timer with the phone in your pocket.

### 2/5 — Not that great

*2015-11-04, version 1.4.1*

Not worth 10 bucks. Not even worth 5 bucks.

### 5/5 — Almost perfect!

*2014-09-01, version 1.3.55*

This is truly the best shot timer on the App Store. Great sensitivity, works without the suggested mic for dry for with the phone at least 6 feet away. I only have two issues so far, but their AMAZING customer service has already told me they both are included in coming updates.

1. There is a start screen and a results screen. If you're doing dry fire you have to toggle back and forth to see your progress.

2. No way to setup any type of drills. As it stands now you have to hit stop, then start between each drill.

Definitely recommend this app, especially since the devs are super active and have big plans for future features.

### 1/5 — Doesn't open on ipad

*2024-04-23*

This app installed on my ipad 10th generation but when I tap it starts and then immediately closes to background. When I try to tap the background app it starts to open again but then closes and stops completely and leaves even background.

### 1/5 — Not good

*2023-10-11*

Bought this a few years ago and it worked well. Now all it does is crash when opening.

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2023-03-24*

App will not open, crashes and shutdown.

### 1/5 — Does not work with AirPods! iPhone X or higher not compatible.

*2020-02-06, version 1.4.4*

When it didn’t work with the Lite version I should have trusted my gut. Instead I wrongly guessed the paid version might... since iPhone X has no headphone jack it’s not compatible even though the App Store says it is...

### 1/5 — Mr.

*2019-01-05*

Well pretty disappointed...no matter where I place the iPhone, short of taping it to the gun, it will NOT pick up the sound of the hammer falling during Dry Fire training.
That is what I bought it for, even with the 'sensitivity' cranked up to 100% ...nuttin.
Waste of money.

### 1/5 — NOT GOOD. NOT COMPLETE.

*2017-08-04, version 1.4.4*

No ability to add/make drills
No dry fire support without external mic
No splits

Has a hard time picking up shots due to mic sensitivity of the iPhone.

Overall no worth $10 at all.

DO NOT BUY!

### 1/5 — Save your money!!!!!!

*2017-07-03, version 1.4.4*

Dose nothing but pick up background noise.

### 1/5 — Rip off

*2017-03-15, version 1.4.4*

Does not pick up dry fire sounds even at 100% sensitivity.

### 1/5 — Picks up echo/sonic crack as a shot

*2014-10-22, version 1.4.0*

Not the best, at least not on iPhone 6, as it records an echo/sonic crack as a shot. This is not a problem on other apps, well on Surefire's app

### 1/5 — Terrible - Does not work at all

*2014-03-22, version 1.1.45*

So disappointed. App literally does not function. no matter how the sensitivity is adjusted, it will track about 15 shots whenever only 7 we're actually fired. Usually tracks about 3 shots for every 1 real shot fired, and this was being used under ideal circumstances. Terrible disappointment for such an expensive app, that appeared to have a great interface. the interface is great, but the app itself is literally without use. Please update this app to actually work, so that I won't have wasted $10. I had to download a cheapo timer with a horrible interface instead, which worked perfectly.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Does work with dry fire

*2021-10-21*

I am very satisfied with the paid version of the app. The app registers my dry fires and provides me with valuable data to track my progress. I highly recommend it.

### 5/5 — Great App (Airsoft Firearm Tested)

*2020-07-01*

This is absolutely brilliant.

Knowing this app will work great for real firearm and had doubt this could work with Airsoft guns (GBB - Gas Blow Back).

After trying the Free version i was confident the full version app will work too, as a result - IT DOES!!!!

However this will not work with AEG rifles and spring loaded Airsoft guns as they don’t produce enough familiar noise compare to GBB or real gun fire.

Absolutely love this.

Below is a list of what i think could potentially improve the app:

1. I do strongly suggest an Apple Watch version of this and iPad app would be fantastic. As the firearm would be ranging closer to the weapon muzzle which could result better time recording. Alternatively Recoil vibration could be an alternative way to record time between ready up to shot fired.

2. Given the fact the latest iPad Pro model has LiDAR and iPad Pro in general has better microphone system, meaning the timing could be more reliable and consistent, otherwise could bring additional feature such as ranging to the app. This will be an absolute pro app for tactical shooters!!!

Thanks for reading the review.

### 5/5 — Really good, needs watch integration to make it awesome

*2019-08-18*

Apple Watch integration pls

### 5/5 — Cheap but works

*2018-12-29*

Even with airsoft guns, with electrics, and quiet gas guns, this app picks up the shots so far. Will do more testing, but for just $14, it’s pretty decent.

### 5/5 — Works for live fire or dry practice too

*2018-07-30, version 1.4.4*

Pros
-simple to operate
-has delay for practice alone
-adjustable sensitivity for live or dry practice
-it works

Cons
-the phone has to be within 2-3 feet of the pistol when “fired” during dry practice. So I hung my phone off of a tall lamp.

Bottom line
-It is an inexpensive shot timer that has worked very well.

Also I have only used it with the phone microphone. The sensitivity was at 50% for the live fire, and 100% for dry practice.

### 5/5 — Make Ready

*2017-06-18, version 1.4.4*

Great App. I turned the sensitivity way down and picks up my shots. I would add a setting to automatically stop on a predetermined number of hits, eliminating manually hitting the stop button. Maybe add a Comstock scoring function.

### 5/5 — Great timer app

*2016-10-31, version 1.4.1*

I use it exclusively for dryfire.

Range commands and random delay are awesome. Par is fast and easy to set.

### 5/5 — Very Good Shot Timer

*2016-10-14, version 1.4.3*

This is the best iPhone shot timer I've used. Works great for dry fire practice and live fire as well. Use a microphone or ear buds, ear buds work great under ear pro.

### 5/5 — Make Ready

*2016-10-11, version 1.4.3*

I use this app for all of my practice for IDPA.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2016-02-12, version 1.4.1*

Worth $12 !
I use it with my earphones inside of the electronic ear protection and it works great with the adjustable volume and delayed timer range commands prior to par-time commencement
