### 4/5 — 한글 fix

*2025-12-19*

This app is really cool but needs some improvement, like a second layout key to separate numbers from letters, and fix Hangul characters, if I want to type for example “안녕하세요” which comes out as “ㅇㅏㄴㄴㅕㅇㅎㅏㅅㅔㅇㅛ“
I’d have to create a separate key for all of these,
like “안 녕 하 세 요” those are my only two complaints.

### 4/5 — Saving issues

*2025-08-27, version 1.3.2*

There is an issue with saving. When I edit one of my keyboards, one of the other keyboards switches to the one I am currently editing. Also, saving is slow or does not happen. Other than this issue, this app is amazing. It supports most Unicode characters.

### 4/5 — Slightly bad

*2025-08-23, version 1.3.2*

The cursor doesn’t move when I hold and drag the space bar. Can you please fix that bug?

### 4/5 — Great App, but…

*2025-06-29, version 1.3.2*

When I try to make another keyboard, it replaces my other one that I made and I wish I could have multiple custom keyboards.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2025-05-01, version 1.3.2*

It’s a great app and very helpful but I have one problem. I have made multiple keyboards and want to access them when I change my keyboard, but the only keyboard I can use is the one at the top of the list, and whatever I call it it will just be called “KBD Maker”?

### 4/5 — Good app just a few problems

*2025-04-22, version 1.3.2*

1. I like how you can edit tour keyboard to add stuff on there
2. One Problem is tgat the keyboard typing is kind of Slow
3. We Need A Option to Make The letters Bigger there kind of small

### 5/5 — Baybayin Keyboard

*2025-03-16*

Took a while of me testing to figure it out but I was able to make my own Baybayin keyboard that worked and is so perfect. I was able to make it exactly how I wanted (since all the keyboards have the ᜔ kudlit and not the ᜕ kudlit).

It did for some reason take my keyboard a while to start working on everywhere. It worked first on the app itself (like the app was the only place the keyboard would actually switch onto) but didn’t show it as an option in the others. It worked next on the mail app, then on beeper, and finally everywhere else. But now it’s working and I’m really happy!!

Also this is my keyboard if anyone wants to use it. You can just copy and paste and then make the edits you want 😊

### 4/5 — Nearly perfect, one suggestion

*2025-03-13*

Since I’v done a little bit of coding in the past, this was really easy and pretty intuitive for me. Could you add the option for more layers (modifiers), I want to add more layers for the extra symbols I want to add. You could also maybe add Colemak as a default option (this doesn’t apply to me but probably for other people as it isn’t an option for IOS). Also, for people who don’t know how to edit the layout after the first time working on it, could you add a small section for that in the instructions or put an update button somewhere whenever you make a change? Overall great app, nicely made.

### 4/5 — Awesome - but with some small annoyances

*2025-02-27, version 1.3.2*

This app allows you to create your own keyboard layout. It does this very well.

The main good points are:
Very simple to use.
Can create multiple layouts.
Supports Unicode characters
No silly custom backgrounds or key colors.
Additional characters can be chosen using a long key press.
Shift modifier supported (Others would be great, but are not currently supported, such as, command/ctrl/alt etc)

The main issues are:
No TAB key. Yes you can have a tab key but it show as a blank key. This leads to the next short coming:
You cannot make a custom name for a key. So you cannot make a key show using one unicode character or string but input something else.
Sadly the keyboard close and keyboard selector buttons cannot be hidden and are not regular keyboard buttons. They take up far far to much space (A whole row of buttons!)
You cannot specify a width for a key, like fill remaining space or 2x key width.
No support for switching to additional symbol layouts

With some minor updates, this could be an absolutely awesome utility. Thanks to the dev for releasing this.

### 5/5 — Exactly what it says!

*2025-02-13, version 1.3.2*

Great app! Exactly what it says, no frills or ads!! Will donate asap when i can!

(I am curious if there is an option/code to make it so the keyboard itself still looks one way, IE qwerty, but the letters that show up are what's programmed? )

### 5/5 — Figured it out!

*2025-01-05, version 1.3.2*

Great app, turned out that it doesn’t like the section names to be capitalized…

### 5/5 — All i ever need. There could be some improvements though

*2025-01-04, version 1.3.2*

Brilliant and simple editor, really helps me make keyboards for conlangs, all the features are free and amazing, if i had the money i would tip

A suggestion I have is the ability to create modifier keys or other modifiers, for instance pressing the modifier key and “a” could yield “á” perhaps, I know this feature exists as the [values] but that takes a while to type, maybe other modifiers such as when a letter occurs at the start or end of the words or maybe changes the character when around another.

Still a 5/5 app, it’s simple, easy and wonderful to use. Easy exporting and importing of keyboards. Thank you

### 5/5 — Best Keyboard App

*2025-01-02, version 1.3.2*

For anyone who wants a symbol or an astrology keyboard, this is the one you want. You can develop your own keyboard, or have different keyboards, etc. Instructions are simple, but you will need to play with setting up a “dummy” kbd for a bit to start with. A huge Thank You to the developer - this is just what I was looking for.

### 5/5 — ipad

*2024-12-29, version 1.3.2*

I got this ipad and literally the apple landscape keyboard is too big for two thumbs typing, with this i was able to in a way split keyboard in a way I for less explaing here's how I did it
q w e r t \ 1 2 3 4 / y u i o p @
a s d f g [ 5 6 7 8 9 0 ? h j k l bck
shift z x c space v b n m return
deleting one line made it smaller on height
adding in the middle helps me type faster since they closer to the thumb. but you can do whatever honestly. you can make it look like a pc keyboard i just never figured out how to add the caps lock or idk if you can add a tab button but overall prompts.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on iPad

*2026-01-06*

App is missing several necessary functional buttons, “save” being the most frustrating. You can type all you want into the new keyboard window, but there is no way to know if it’s going to populate the preview keyboard, save your changes, or even be accessible in the ipad’s settings later. The only keyboard that will load when adding it in Settings is “English,” which isn’t an available keyboard in the app, and doesn’t show up when trying to switch keyboards later.

### 1/5 — Layout editing doesn't save

*2025-10-17, version 1.3.2*

I tried editing the layout, and when I checked another layout, the layout wasn't there when I clicked back! This is very buggy overall, you can click on any other menu and your layout disappears! This is a scam!

### 1/5 — THIS IS THE WORST APP I’VE EVER DOWNLOADED

*2025-03-22, version 1.3.2*

EVERYTIME I FINISHED IT RESETED

### 1/5 — Looks good, but...

*2025-03-11, version 1.3.2*

...won't work when installed. Simply doesn't show as a keyboard option.

### 1/5 — Overall I like but I wish there was more

*2024-10-10, version 1.3.2*

So far so good for making a custom keyboard.
But here’s the thing, I’m making a language keyboard and was wondering if there could be an update for syllabary/compounding words. For example p=p and a=a but I want to combine them to form a new form p+a= pa is that possible?

### 1/5 — So far no go

*2022-09-15, version 1.1.0*

This is a great idea, I thought. I read the instructions thoroughly, and spent days perfecting my font. It worked, for the most part in preview, bar capitals refusing to be re-mapped, and it showed in settings when I added it. But, when I tried to use it, it wouldn’t work at all, giving me the plain old English font.

### 2/5 — This one flaw near ruins it

*2024-01-04*

I love this app and what you can do with it, but i wish that this thing gets fixed soon.
If you were on an iPhone, try to tap the space between q, w, a, and s. No matter how centered you tap it, it will always lock on to a single letter.
With KBD keyboard, that doesn't happen, and sometimes, if i don't do it just right, it will not type the letter, so i would often have to type slowly, to make sure im pressing the center of the key.
This needs to change, that way it would be more flexible and easier to type with.

### 3/5 — Great but one problem

*2025-07-21, version 1.3.2*

Great app! I can make my own keyboard but when I create a keyboard and then a second keyboard the second keyboard is empty and when I check my first keyboard it has the layout of the second keyboard! Great but that bug, 3 stars.

### 3/5 — no text replacement

*2025-05-22*

it is very good and i like it, except the fact that you can not add your own text replacements or anytihng to your keyboard, where you could just type some characters in and it could be replaced with another thing. this would be good in systems that use more than one writing system like japanese. I also think its a bit clunky

### 3/5 — Really hard (not cause of coding)

*2024-07-07*

I just think this app was really hard because if I made like one single mistake, then went out of the app. It would reset it and there would be no letters and I would have to restart from scratch. I just thought that was really annoying. Also, I was trying to create, a secret keyboard font to send to all my friends so I was trying to change the letters around by making a symbol for each letter that didn’t work either. I made all the letters a different symbol.(numbers and other signs) and it wouldn’t work and it would just reset that was really annoying because it took a lot of time to make. I would love this issue to be fixed so I can continue making keyboards easily

### 5/5 — Hands-down the BEST keyboard app out there!

*2025-12-11*

This app let me make custom keyboards for whatever language im learning/conscripts im adapting because im a huge polyglot, but id love support for korean because on the usual iphone keyboard its like 안녕하세요, but i made a new simplified version of the 한국어 keyboard and it comes out like this: ㅇㅏㄴㄴㅕㅇㅎㅏㅅㅔㅇㅛ, do take this issue to heart and fix it pls. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Works very well for free!

*2025-10-23, version 1.3.2*

Thanks for this app! It works better than the others that cost money!

### 5/5 — Hard to get used to, but great when you figure it out!

*2025-09-26, version 1.3.2*

This is so useful once you learn how to properly use it. I made a keyboard specifically for creating emoticons ⫕𛰨

### 5/5 — Almost perfect, just a few suggestions.

*2025-09-24*

First of all, I love this app, this app is the most straightforward and easy app to make a custom keyboard with. You can make infinite keyboards (as far as I know), it has a small guide that sums up everything nice and clear, and the format is easy to follow.

I basically just have 1 suggestion, please make the keyboard bigger or make the size customizable. I come from IOS default QWERTY keyboard and so I’m used to larger keyboards than the ones you have. Making this with a slider or a some kind of size changer would be nice and would help out my muscle memory.

This is the only improvement I can think of besides also maybe adding some more defaults maybe like Colemak since that’s not on IOS.

Really really good app and here’s my keyboard layout

gywdcpmbfu
siatrleonh
   vkjxqz

Make sure the v aligns with the a and the z aligns with the o.

I hope you consider my suggestion and try out my layout.

### 5/5 — This is the very best free keyboard.

*2025-09-08*

I needed a keyboard that I could edit to put custom characters since I'm making a language, and this keyboard app does more than just let me put weird symbols in my keyboard. This keyboard app is the only one you ever need and that you ever should get, but I have one small request for it, it would be super useful to have a keyboard modifier that puts a new keyboard in place of the original. Like how when you hit the keyboard on your normal keyboard that changes the keyboard to the extra symbols, besides that, I love this app so much and it is so useful. Please don't ever make this cost money since it is such a good app.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2025-09-02, version 1.3.2*

As someone who loves languages AND making languages this was amazing for meˏ 10/10 - can’t wait too see more features added too it ^^

### 5/5 — Unique App!

*2025-08-05, version 1.3.2*

This app is great for actually wanting to use the UI code standard for incorporating your own type set and other languages without having to simply download and install a standard font. Please add more sections like numbers and emoji section for multiple categorized emojis! Great job keep going

### 5/5 — Really good, if a bit weird sometimes

*2025-05-10*

I genuinely recommend this app. It's the only good free app I've found that lets you create custom keyboard layouts - I wanted a non-QWERTY keyboard, and honestly this has become my standard keyboard at this point.

I only have a couple issues with the keyboard. Sometimes it randomly reverts to the default Apple keyboard, occasionally in the middle of typing, but I admit that's probably an Apple thing. Plus, there's a bit of a dead space between characters that can really slow down typing.

Not really a flaw but a suggestion - I would appreciate a way to get rid of the top row with the description of the character. I know it has to be there for the change keyboard button, but maybe there could be an option to add that to the keyboard itself? Or just to get rid of it and change keyboards on the app?

Aside from that, though, this is really a fantastic app, good for special characters and nonstandard keyboard layouts alike.

### 5/5 — (HOW TO GET IT TO WORK)

*2025-05-02*

For me, the app simply didn't show up as a keyboard. But to get it to work, I removed another keyboard I had installed (it was an IPA keyboard), and it suddenly started working. I don't know if it's that specific app or not, but hopefully this helps anyone who is having problems.

### 5/5 — my review of how I think this app is really useful

*2025-04-15*

I can make some useful keyboards and make even crazy keyboards. This app is very useful and deleted the normal Apple keyboard and now I just use the keyboard app. This app is great and if anybody’s reading this, I think you should get it.
