I want it to work so badly so I can love it even more! Either projects won’t open, app will freeze, project will disappear, etc. Hopefully the flaws/glitches will get repaired in updates but I don’t know that I’ll stick around long enough to find out because of reasonable frustrations. I’ve been using home by me for a while and it’s top notch and I believe these are related/same company. This is a low rating for now but I do think it will improve I just wish it would do so quickly. Both the app and the site load slowly. There are constant redirects and page refreshes randomly. I have yet to successfully create a project from scratch or with a base. I know y’all can do it. My main problem with this app is that it keeps freezing and takes ages to sort itself out or you have to shut it down and start again. It is also lacking Apple Pencil support although it works palm rejection does not and is very glitchy, all being said this app has the makings of something great and is a real game changer in designing things. **Developer response:** Thanks so much for your feedback, we’re thrilled you see the potential in Makebyme! Thanks, MakeByMe team ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Frequent Plan Loss *2026-08-08* I am a woodworker and am trying this with the intention to by it or something similar. I have made several plans and found the app easy to use even if it is missing some needed features. My problem is with the stability of the saved plans. 5x now plans have become corrupted requiring me to start over from scratch, costing me many hours of rework. These corruptions have occurred in both the iPhone app and my Windows browser. I like the program but can no longer trust it. If I want to build a cabinet just let me put in the size, choose ‘panel’ and then move to join. Going back and forth to choose materials…then size, then place is ridiculous. You make it much too difficult for easy projects. Do you people work for the government??? Sure seems like it….you take a simple project plan and make it so frustrating people just quit. I can do my own plan drawings in half the time it takes to choose materials, size them, place them, try to readjust to make fit, THIS IS A WORTHLESS APP. Projects are unable to be saved for multi-session design efforts. You will spend time designing projects that you will not be able to reload to continue your work. **Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your experience. Creating an account allows you to upload projects for safe storage, and access from any device. If by multi session, you are accessing one or more designs across different devices (or browser tabs for non app use), we would suggest saving and closing your project. On the app you can't update an open project if its modified elsewhere, you would need to close it then reopen to access the last saved version. Vos encouragements nous motivent à continuer le développement et à ajouter encore plus de fonctionnalités ! ### 5/5 — Petit conseil *2026-02-04* L’application est génial et vraiment simple d’utilisation je conseille fortement néanmoins j’aurais quelques suggestions : il faudrait rajouter plus de matériaux pour le bois comme du mdr ou de l’agglomérer comme ça on sera plus sur de ce qu’on choisi. Ensuite il faudrait qu’on puisse changer la couleur de la féraille pied, poignet, etc.. en doré par exemple. Ensuite je trouve qu’au niveau des pied de meuble il n’y a pas beaucoup de choix il faudrait augmenter le registre, pour les autres feraille il y a une bonne diversité donc c’est ok. Ensuite ce serait bien de rajouter d’autres accessoires comme des plantes ou autre afin de mieux s’immerger dans notre création et enfin ce serait idéale de pouvoir ouvrir les portes de nos meubles pour avoir une vue intérieur. Hopefully I will be able to export the plans to PDF soon. ### 5/5 — Awesome app *2025-02-05* I’m a novice woodworker that loves to tinker in my workshop. I’ve used the browser version of MakeByMe for a while so I was excited to see there is now a mobile version. MakeByMe puts woodworking design at your fingertips. The tools are easy to use and intuitive and I can honestly say this app has made me a better woodworker. Projects that I wouldn’t be able to imagine with pencil and paper can suddenly come to life on my screen! And the ability to quickly edit or add to my design makes this a really fun and productive app to work with. And with the mobile app I can now bring my supply list to the hardware store with ease. This app is genius n quickly to catch on how to use. There’s a couple minor kinks n glitches but I suspect over time they will fix them. Even with them it’s still pretty amazing you can virtually basically build or make with real construction material n other materials. Different types of metals n woods n different sizes. It also then breaks down what you made into a step by step instructions for you to make it in real life including materials/tools list.
