## What is MakeMyDayLondon?

MakeMyDay London has been designed with simplicity in mind. Find out what's on nearby. Find new places. Save events - get reminders, or just browse.

Tap the map, use your current location or search for a particular venue. This produces a list of places-with-events nearby. In addition, you will see interesting places with no particular events on that day but that are still worth a visit. You will also see the tube and rail stations nearest to the venue as well as its accessibility status. If you choose, you can tap the web button to check out the live web site for the venue or the event.

Change the search date to see events on that date. Good for planning future trips.

Sign up for an account and log in to unlock your Briefcase, Share and Calendar Entry buttons. Save an event in the briefcase and receive email reminders as the event comes to the end of its run. You also get news of events that might be of interest. Don't want to receive emails? Simply log in, go to the profile screen and turn off "email reminders". Tap the share button to share events via your message apps, email or airdrop. Use the calendar button to put the event dates directly into your calendar.

You may never, unintentionally, miss an event again.

For your location the app uses GPS but this is only active for a few seconds. The app therefore has minimal impact on battery charge.

We use clever search techniques to locate events. If you find your favourite venue is not included then use the contact screen (tap "i" on the map) to let us know about it. Use the same screen to make suggestions for improvements. MakeMyDay London is under constant development. We really want to know about missing features you would like to see in future versions and we are always adding to our data.

The app has been designed to be accessible. Text on the screen adapts to text size accessibility settings. If you find the text hard to read then go to settings/general/accessibility/larger-text and set a size with which you are comfortable.

Your phone connects to our venue and event database for each operation. You need a data connection for this to function and you need to OK the app's use of your location on its first run after downloading.

Apart from a few bugs squashed under the hood, we've added a News feature on startup. If there's no news then the app goes straight to the home screen.

Added day name to the date picker plus other "backroom" stuff. Keep the suggestions coming. (tap (i) on the map)

### 2.0 — 2020-01-04

We're trying out walking directions to venues. Tap the walking figure on the venue screen to get directions from your current location. Best to use this when you know you're somewhere nearby, like just leaving the nearest station. 
We've added a "manage briefcase screen. Items can be deleted from your briefcase by swiping left on the event and tap "delete". Access to the briefcase screen is by a new briefcase button at the top of your profile screen. Also, there's been a lot of work under the hood preparing for internationalisation (yawn). Calendar picker now tells you which day you've picked. 

Keep the suggestions coming by tapping the "i" button on the map.

Extended search; search by venue, keyword or station/district.
