### 2/5 — Not really worth it

*2026-01-29*

It’s kinda expensive for what it is. Maybe he doesn’t want the support issues, but this app is very expensive for its utility compared with other apps. Unless you really need it, give it a pass.

### 2/5 — Confusing GUI

*2025-11-19*

Not free. Must subscribe. User interface is confusing, far from intuitive. Pass4Wallet appears a lot more intuitive.

### 4/5 — iOS 26

*2025-11-17*

Great App. But with the latest update creating passes in shortcuts are very buggy. The header, front and back fields do not retain text typed into these fields. Even pasting text or variables don’t stick. Please help. Thank you.

**Developer response:** Hi! Yes, unfortunately, that is a Shortcuts issue in iOS 26. I have already reported it to Apple multiple times, but they have not fixed it yet.

You can also report it at https://www.apple.com/feedback/.

### 2/5 — Help needed!!!

*2025-10-24*

It would be very helpful to see a diagram of the field locations and the associated fonts for each card type. Adding information to a card seems to require a lot of guess work. If this is available, please let me know how to find it. Also, some edits appear to trigger a new card when an edit of an existing card was intended. An explanation of this would also be helpful.

### 2/5 — Good Featured App, but…

*2025-10-05*

I searched for an App with shortcuts binding. I would really like to buy this app via one-time purchase. But sadly only monthly/yearly subscription. Any plans to get one-time payment? 5 Stars for the features. -3 Stars subscription based

### 2/5 — J

*2025-08-20, version 5.0*

Money all they need

### 1/5 — Abonnement obligatoire / impossible d’éditer mes pass déjà générés!

*2025-05-23, version 5.0*

J’ai acheté l’application à ses débuts, généré 39 pass qu’il est maintenant impossible d’éditer sans devoir payer un abonnement hors de prix. Ce n’est pas très loin de ma conception du vol pur et simple…

### 1/5 — Male

*2025-05-02, version 4.9*

Non merita minimante i soldi spesi

### 1/5 — Subscription based

*2025-02-13*

Typical app ruined by being subscription based. No thanks. Deleted.

### 1/5 — Tutorials, how tos, and tip kit would greatly improve the experience of this app

*2024-12-14, version 4.8.1*

Update: Pass2U or Passbook are probably better app choices for most of you out there. The AI integration in this app doesn’t do anything other than put the information into the correct blocks for you. Which if they had a template to see what you should actually put in each block, you wouldn’t need in the first place. I thought the AI was going to do something like cool Image art that matches the pass type. For example, I’m going to a Christmas market that requires a ticket, I thought the AI was going to put in a Christmas tree or something cool like that. But what I got was a gray boring looking ticket.

I had a hard time figuring out how to use the app to be honest. I don’t know what all the various values/text field affect, on top of that, I don’t know what the various design features of the pass will affect. The developer might consider having a live preview (on iPad and macOS at least) that also highlights the area of the pass that is being edited when in the corresponding text field or UI area.

Another app called Details Pro has this type of Live view for people to see their swift UI edits as they make them for app design.

Finally, I subscribed to use MakePass UI only to learn the type of QR code that I was trying to make a pass for doesn’t work what so ever. So now I’m out 16$ without a use for the app unless the developer is able to add a feature allowing us to just add a png image of the QR code to the pass instead of the app having to read the code and create it itself 🤷‍♂️

This is why tutorials and in depth explanation of what works and doesn’t would be madly helpful for this technical app.

Currently I don’t know how to rate it, I love the idea and the execution is close, however it’s just not perfect and I lost money as it won’t work for my situation. I can’t give it 5 or 4 because of this, I don’t want to give it 1 because I believe that’s harsh. I also don’t want to seem mean to the developer, I know he’s indie and the app overall will work for many I’m sure. I’ll give it a 2 but maybe consider changing to 3 if I’m able to get in touch with the developer or support and figure this out.

### 1/5 — Insane subscription price for what it does

*2024-11-22*

Before I could even preview the pass I tried to create, the app asks me to pay at least 10€ per year(!).

For digitizing discount cards that give me the occasional free coffee or a little discount on a purchase, that's just a rip-off. I'd rather take a picture of the cards / QR-codes and put them in a folder of my photos app.

### 1/5 — Not free

*2024-11-20*

Item is not free

### 2/5 — Aggressive pricing

*2024-10-24, version 4.8.1*

UI is not visual enough and simply too hard to use… on top of that, it’s definitely not worth paying for. Sorry :/

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2026-05-22*

Ai editor is a scam, doesn’t even get correct colours or positioning.

### 1/5 — Cuidado no ofrece info completa

*2026-04-02, version 5.3*

### 1/5 — Can’t even preview without paying

*2025-12-08, version 5.2*

Sucks you can’t see a result before paying $10. Also no solution for UPC-A store cards. Even an image of the upc shown would work for supermarket type scanners.

### 1/5 — The Developers are Thieves

*2025-12-08*

I don’t have a problem with software subscriptions, but I have a problem with changing terms after the fact. The developers of this app took away many essential features, such as making passes with barcodes, from people who bought the app outright before instituting a subscription policy. All of a sudden they want money to continue using an app that was bought in full. I have no respect for them.

**Developer response:** Hi! If you already had purchased MakePass before the introduction of the subscription model, you should have been granted most of the Ultra features for free automatically. Make sure to use the same exact Apple Account you used for the initial purchase to redownload the app.

Let me know if you have any issues at app-support@pvieito.com.

### 1/5 — Wish there had been a trial…

*2025-08-29, version 5.0*

Confusing app. Trying to generate a wallet pass by importing an image of a ticket with a QR code. Instead of using that QR code. It generates a new one. No idea whether that will work or be accepted. Also everything is in Spanish on the generated ticket with no option that I can see to change the language. Only solution is to edit the ticket field by hand. Cancelled subscription and would love my money back, but I’m not counting on it.

### 1/5 — Rental

*2025-08-12, version 5.0*

Another one time paid app that became a rental, with it removing what we paid for. And of course they shoved “ai” garbage in there for good measure solidifying the ensh*tification. Nice job.

### 1/5 — Restricted Functionality and Broken AI Options

*2025-07-24, version 5.0*

Its capabilities are relatively limited and the AI options definitely do not work

### 1/5 — Forced to subscription

*2025-07-13, version 5.0*

Need subscription now, but a bought the app for money. Restore subscription function does not work

### 1/5 — No one’s paying subscription for this app

*2025-07-03*

The app is basically not functional if you don’t pay for it, and it’s not even a one time payment. And the cost of it is laughable. Specially when so many free alternatives are already available.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best WalletMaker (digitalized my life)

*2026-08-19*

I am using this App from the very far beginning.
This is the best App I ever used, as this helped me to digitalize my whole Life. All Kind of cards are in this wallet and I did Not use my physical wallet for Years (except HealthCard for doctors, in Germany You have to present it physically each time).

Works on device (except AI), so Full private and Secure.

Thanks Pedro for this Perfect App and your Support!

**Developer response:** Hi! Thanks for the feedback, but unfortunately, Apple does not allow third-party apps to generate passes using the Digital ID layout.

UPDATE: The layouts are defined by Apple, so I don’t think so, but please email me at app-support@pvieito.com, and I can send you an ID-style pass template using the Generic pass type and a thumbnail image.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2026-07-05, version 5.3.1*

This app is great, very easy to use and great results too.

### 5/5 — Best WalletMaker & Feature-Request (More Space for photos in the bottom area)

*2026-05-09*

Update 08.05.26:
Pedro, thanks for your reply. Understood that Digital ID is not possible to use. Ok. :-)
Idea:
Would it be instead possible to use more space for a photo?
At present in the top area, the space is too small.
So is There A way to use the Full area at the bottom for a bigger Image?
This would be Amazing!
Even if a photo of a passport or driver license isn‘t officially supported in the EU, it would still help as a Backup in emergency cases.
This would be the killer Feature!

### 5/5 — Great App if used regularly

*2025-10-14*

This is a great app — beautifully designed and a real pleasure to use. I’m happy to see that the developer fixed the macOS bug that had removed some features for older one-time-purchase users, which I really appreciate. It’s rare to see that level of commitment and respect for existing customers.

Everything now works perfectly again, and I can highly recommend the app to anyone who regularly manages Wallet passes. If i were a new customer I’d just wish for a smaller subscription tier for my light use (3 times per year)— maybe around €3–4 per year — to make it easier for occasional users to support ongoing development.

Every time I use it, it’s a delight. Fantastic work!

**Developer response:** Hi! This macOS behaviour is a macOS system bug. You should be able to keep using all the existing features if you have previously purchased MakePass. I have already reported this issue to Apple multiple times, but they have not yet fixed it, so I will update the app with a workaround to try to detect previous purchases without relying on the App Store.

In any case, please contact me at app-support@pvieito.com as I would like to collect more info about this issue to solve it ASAP. Thanks!

EDIT: MakePass 5.1.2 should fix this issue and is now available on the App Store.

### 5/5 — Top du top

*2025-04-15, version 4.9*

J’ai testé toutes les appliques de créations de Pass et celle ci est la meilleure, très détaillée, images en hautes qualités sur les Pass, tout travail mérite salaire je paye sans soucis, car c’est parfait ! Merci.

### 5/5 — The only Pass maker on the App store that works!

*2024-11-27*

Don’t use anything else, and yes you can pay them it works.

### 5/5 — Excellent, hoping for NFC Pass support in the future

*2024-11-04*

App is excellent and easy to use. I was able to ditch other loyalty card holding apps completely and just put everything directly into Wallet with this.

Now that iOS 18.1 allows third party apps access to the NFC chip, it would be great to be able to clone NFC based cards as well as barcodes.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2024-09-18, version 4.8.1*

Great for thinning out your wallet!

### 5/5 — Fantastic tool !

*2024-08-19*

I bought this hoping it would make creating Wallet passes easier (I had been using a nice app on my iPhone, but was looking for a slightly more automatic process. MakePass exceeds any expectation I might have had. It is beyiond easy & (I use the AI feature) results in perfect results almost instantly from images provided by event sponsers. This is one of the most satisfying app purchases I have made in many years!

### 5/5 — Most Useful App

*2024-07-23*

This is hands-down the best app on my phone! I use it to organize all of my event tickets for all the shows I see. I've set it up with iOS Shortcuts so that I can tell Siri what time the show is and where I'm sitting, and it'll make the event pass for me. I'm so glad I bought this!!!!
