My only complaint is a really poor login system. I get logged out of the app at least daily and the only way to log back in is deleting the app and reinstalling it.

MakeSpace is a great service but the app just stopped working for me. Even after updates, for months I was never able to log in (I’d log in and be stuck at a loading screen forever). Eventually I just deleted the app because it’s easier to just go on the website via Safari.

I used MakeSpace twice and i would use it again. There were some issues with the delivery but overall they did the job and helped me store my furniture with free delivery and pick up. My TV was broken when it came but i emailed their customer service and they reimbursed me in the next month.

In terms of app feedback, scrolling doesn’t work unless you swipe up first, and if you are editing the address details of an appointment the app crashes. In terms of the service itself, the delivery crews are not very professional and there are big gaps in communication between the crews and the rest of the company. Conceptually it’s a great service, but the execution needs a lot of improvement.

If what went in the app actually manifested in the real world, it would be perfect.  But despite him putting all the information correctly in the app, the teams seem to continually get and give wrong information. It’s not really the fault of the app, but it seems as though there is some gap in the delivery of services between the app and what actually happens at the warehouse/customer service. Otherwise great.

These guys are driving me nuts.  I’ve been storing with them for 5 years when everything but the actual storage was free.  Now every time I turn around there is an extra charge and I can wait weeks to have my goods delivered at a reasonable price.  I recently had to borrow luggage to go on a trip because I refused to pay 180 dollars to have it delivered.

Easy to use. Movers were nice. As a first time mover I underestimated the amount of stuff I had and there wasn’t much flexibility which means I had to schedule another appointment. It’s not the worst but something for me to keep in mind on the next move. It could be helpful for the user to send a pic to the company of all stuff they are planning to move so the company can advise. Overall good experience.

I love MakeSpace- I have used it twice and they are so easy. I’m in the middle of changing my living situation and I’ve been so stressed out and MakeSpace has helped so much. I needed to add stuff to my storage and Luis and Fredrick were so kind, helpful and fast. I am so happy I found this amazing service

The move was for my son’s furniture out of his off-campus housing to the storage facility. The move itself went well. My son had a housemate greet the movers because due to work he could not be present for the move. I was notified via text 20 mins. before arrival that movers were on their way and the lead mover contacted me after arrival to confirm some delicate packaging. The app was handy providing appointment updates, move team name and move confirmation; still waiting on pictures to fully load to verify. 

So here’s the “but”. My annoyance is with the sales/scheduling department. The original appointment had to be rescheduled at the last minute because they were understaffed or overbooked. This created a sense of panic and urgency to quickly confirm another date/time that someone could be present for to meet the the deadline to move out. Otherwise, this is a convenient service so you don’t have to worry about renting a truck and moving everything yourself into storage. I would still recommend this company.

It’s great to add things or get them back with a call or email.  
It’s great to be able to ask how much room is left before your space goes up in price to the next level. 
It’s great for people to help you get your stuff so you don’t need to bother getting a truck or doing the hard stuff.

So helpful and expierence day! They made sure everything was wrapped up and even helped repack somethings to make them more sturdy! A great value for the money 10/10 would recommend!

Do not use this company. If I could give it zero stars I would. All our stuff was essentially held hostage for a month after we requested it back. Half of it was damaged or completely broken. Customer service is a nightmare. They care more about new clients than existing ones. Be ware - they even try to get you to agree contractually to NOT leave any bad reviews online. That should tell you enough. 

Stay far. Far. Away.

I signed up for makespace when moving out of my apartment last minute during the pandemic. Because the service is so limited (only can retrieve items from the city they're stored, no shipping), I had to make a separate trip to retrieve my items and move them into a more permanent storage unit. When I went to review the items at a later date, i found that makespace had lost my casper mattress and damaged a bunch of my furniture - despite saying all the boxes were accounted for when they dropped it off. since i moved the boxes from one location to another, they were extremely unhelpful and refused to help me at all regarding the items they lost and damaged. i'm so disappointed with the lack of professionalism and would never recommend this service to anyone.

If you created an account via Facebook on their website there is not option to log in with Facebook on the app. Because I signed up through Facebook I am not able to log in with just my email. Have to resort to using the mobile browser instead.

There is no way to confirm the pickup on the final checkout page.  I’ve tried to set it 4 times now, starting freshly each time, and it’s the same issue every time. I’ve attempted to use their website instead but for some reason the website appointment pricing is almost 7x what it is in the app. I’ll be choosing one of Makespace’s competitors instead.

I really liked them at first, but as others have said, they do a poor job of keeping track of your stuff. I’ve experienced multiple lost items and broken items and their terms of service basically say that anything fragile is not covered by their insurance. Please read their terms before storing your stuff with this company :(

I put 25 items in makespace. The biggest item was a 9 drawer chest and the company couldn’t find it. And there wasn’t any update after 2 weeks I filed the ticket. The customer support is extremely unhelpful and I strongly encourage people DO NOT use the service cause your stuff might disappear and makespace will not helping you on that.

Beware!
Positive: the app and convenience of the service are smooth. This should be great.
It is not.
Massive negative: absolutely every time I have stored something, the boxes have been returned destroyed. Wardrobe boxes smashed, torn up the sides, tops caving in. Like they’ve been thrown around dozens of times while in the company’s “care”. And their customer service replies amount to “ah sorry” and nothing is done.

Only deal with this company if you have no other choice and watch them like hawks. The will nickel and dime you over everything. Do not trust any advice from anyone from the company. If they give you any advice or recommendations, make them stop and give you a quote for EXACTLY how much their recommended actions will cost and make them put it in writing. Most of their ’support’ people are extremely unhelpful. Do not trust or do business with this company if you have any other viable options.

If you thinking about doing business with make space think again you better off doing self storage... my coats were stolen from make space me and my daughter has gone most of the winter without coats make agree to pay me what they feel my coats we’re wroth they never ask me how much I paid for them coats I’m still waiting to be paid also the charge me for a full month and i moved my thing out so basically they took half of the settlement money they owe me. I feel make space didn’t do all they could do I rather have my coats back! If any ever ask me to point them into the right direction of a good trust worth storage place it definitely won’t be Make Space!❌

I’m actually fairly pleased with my MakeSpace storage service but this latest update of the app was poorly thought out. There is no way to request a pick up or to reach customer service which I was able to do before. The app was my primary way of managing my storage and the app only made it possible for me to get all my stuff back and then be charged for bins I didn’t plan on keeping. Please fix it. And while your at it there should be an option to request bins and garment boxes only.

I can’t say enough about the service overall- the movers are all great guys, really good bang for your buck. That being said, the app has so many bugs and is not user friendly at all. It’s literally their one fatal flaw. You log in, and it’s a blank screen and I have to cancel out and then try again. Every time. Also not intuitive as an app at all. Doesn’t make sense where a lot of things are. Need a major update on it! But AGAIN can’t recommend their services enough. I moved from Boston to Madison, WI for 3 months and needed to store my furniture. They came and got my stuff, guys were 10/10, and then when I came back they delivered my stuff promptly, all wrapped up (only two damaged items). 

This is a rambling review (over caffeinated today), tldr: service good, app bad  ☺️

My appointment was today and Curt maybe Kurt and Alexa were our movers. They were amazing and very helpful. Once my house sells, I will definitely use MakeSpace again. You truly are full service.

Jose and Dara were awesome! I managed to type in the wrong delivery address but that was managed quickly and with no hassle whatsoever. They were super friendly and it took them literally 30 seconds to unload my stuff. Thanks to them for the awesome job and their patience!

My fiancé and I needed to move our stuff out of our NYC apartment and into storage in a short amount of time due to COVID and work from home situation. We could not have been more pleased with the service. The app is extremely easy to use and helpful. The movers that came to help were very careful with our stuff and were friendly. The only issue I have with the company is that we were told if you tip your movers through the app, it doesn’t actually go to your movers. So try and tip with cash if possible!!

I was very impressed with Tiffany Johnson and Richard Askew. They let me know when they would arrive and they were at my house when they said. They were very polite and were extremely professional. They moved my things very carefully and inspected every box making sure they were sealed well. Both employees are strong but Ricard impressed me by carrying 2 boxes at once and didn’t even break a sweat 😓 They both gave excellent service and I am hoping to get them again once I move.

MakeSpace was incredibly accommodating, provided their own boxes for free, incredibly respectful and patient during the whole process!! Can’t believe that we got a 5 star service when it’s at such a low price.

The app was incredibly user friendly with very little bugs (when tipping I couldn’t use the backspace - iPhone XR). I could track the drivers, call them directly, tip, get information, etc with incredible ease. 

Overall very impressed!

My first time using MySpace for storage purpose. I have no complaint. Great team sent to picked up items. They’re on time and had a lot of patience. Furnitures were handled with care and well packaged. The team kept their promises and worked assiduously to get the job down. I would recommend MySpace on any given day.
