## What is Malmoi?

Korean is not read the way it is written. 값이 is [갑씨], 국물 is [궁물], 좋다 is [조타]. Malmoi is built around that fact.

• Pronunciation trainer — the standard pronunciation rules, computed. Wrong answers are plausible misreadings of the same word, not other words, so you cannot guess by shape.
• Conjugation drills — ㅂ, ㄷ, ㅅ, 르, ㅎ irregulars sorted automatically, with the full conjugation table for every verb and adjective.
• 44,000 words with meanings, hanja origins, examples and the standard pronunciation published by the National Institute of Korean Language. Meanings come in English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese at beginner and intermediate levels.
• 296 grammar patterns across six levels, each with attachment rules and two examples.
• Reading — passages, sentence ordering, newspaper headlines, sentence insertion.
• Listening — dialogues read aloud at study speed and exam speed.
• Writing — character count, style consistency, spoken-language check, and the official scoring rubric with a model answer.
• Mock tests for both exam types, with the level a total score would give.

Everything runs on your device. No account, no server, and it works with no connection.

Levels are an estimate. There is no official published word list, so levels start from the beginner/intermediate/advanced grading of the National Institute of Korean Language and are split further by corpus frequency. Mock scores are an estimate as well — the official conversion table is not published, and writing is self-scored.
