I have contacted the Mamamia team about this but the issue keeps reoccurring. The app will also often not save where you listened to in a podcast making it hard to find where you finished. ### 2/5 — Love the pods….not the app *2026-02-06* Sadly, the recent app overhaul has been pretty disappointing. Interface aside, every time I go to Podcasts and tap on a show the app crashes and my phone reverts to the home screen. I loved the previous version of the app as there were never glitches when listening to all the amazing podcasts Mamamia puts together. I have updated my phone updated the app and still it continues. Happy to try anything the app developer may suggest? ### 3/5 — New update *2025-12-10* Hi there, the new update has quite a few bugs and not very user friendly. 1. The app keeps on asking for login info. This is not a bank account it should not be looking for login information every time 2. App often times goes into a previous version from a few weeks ago and needs a hard close and open to get back to new version 3. The images and layout are often askew on the app. Makes me think it was developed with a web version first in mind and app to be a retrofitted version of that second. 4. I am a big podcast fan and right now I can’t find the latest ones easily. Previous version had a list that automatically showed you the latest up top. ### 2/5 — Can’t access podcasts! *2025-11-27, version 2.6.3* As a subscriber it’s really frustrating when the app continually glitches and I can’t access the podcasts. Please improve! ### 3/5 — Mamamia is great, the app is not *2025-03-17* Love MM and have done for years but this app is so buggy - not allowing me to comment, having to close and re-open to get podcasts to work, never refreshing without a forced refresh, and now I can’t click on any Mamamia stories from social media. But the app has a lot of problems and often doesn’t work. Please fix! ### 2/5 — Terrible user experience on the app *2024-04-17, version 2.4* I love MamaMia content, and all the voices that makeup the brand. It’s why I pay for a subscription to access bonus content. However, the app is very buggy, especially when loading and playing podcast content. I would love if subscribers could access their bonus content through the Apple Podcast app, or Spotify, it’s a much better experience. ### 3/5 — The content is great, a lot of issues with the podcasts stopping *2023-10-25* I love almost everything about this app. However it is very buggy when listening to podcasts, sometimes they just won’t launch, sometimes they randomly stop playing, sometimes I will hit play and it won’t play. ### 4/5 — Love the content, but having some technical app issues *2022-09-20* I subscribe and LOVE accessing the additional podcasts (great work team!) I also find the app pretty easy to navigate and a good way to read stories. That said, whenever my phone locks / I close the app, it keeps on stopping the podcasts! Makes it really frustrating to listen to shows because as soon as I haven’t touched my iPhone for a stage and my phone auto locks, the episode cuts out! Is there a way to fix this? ### 3/5 — App needs updates *2022-07-28* Love Mamamia but since becoming a subscriber I now I have to use the app for the subscription only podcasts but it’s not great to use. There’s no easy way to refresh the podcast content when you return to the app looking for your favourite pod to drop! And often it will say I haven’t finished listening to a pod but I have, so the app doesn’t keep up with what you have listened too. Hope you can fix these few things to make the experience even better. ### 3/5 — New app not user friendly *2021-08-02* I loved the previous app! This new version is not easy for people on the go. For those who want to listen to podcasts while driving or doing other things around the house, it no longer automatically plays the next pod cast on list. You will have to open app, select next podcast, press play … not very safe for drivers… It does not always remember your last spot on a podcast, might need to scroll to were you were. The default page is posts and not podcasts which again makes it hard to navigate. I love the content and the people making it, I think you are terrific, but this new app is just frustrating. 😔 5 stars for content , 2 stars for the app. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Spinning wheel of doom *2026-03-12, version 3.1* The settings won’t load. The spinning wheel of doom stays on the screen until I force close the app. I can’t access any settings. Very frustrating ### 1/5 — Unusable App *2025-12-01* The quality of the app has been getting worse and worse over the years. I use to frequently have to restart my phone a couple of times a week to get the podcast section to appear again, annoying but manageable. Now it is constantly crashing mid listen every time and despite restarting the podcast section is still blank. I haven’t listened to a subscriber podcast on it in weeks as it’s all too hard to get it to work. ### 1/5 — Great content.. yet.. *2025-06-21, version 2.6.3* Ap is really annoying, hard and clunky to use, someone needs to simplify it. One of many things ~ If you stop listening to a podcast it doesn’t save so u have to go back try and find it and start again. It’s actually really annoying. ### 1/5 — Feedback is Important! *2024-04-16* Absolutely love MM and an MPlus subscriber. But the app is so glitchy it’s almost unusable. Opening the podcast section - not only is it not refreshed, it’s showing the most recent episode as one from six months ago. There’s no pull down refresh, you have to leave the section and navigate back. Sometimes when you return to the app while playing a podcast, it continues playing but the app displays an error message and all the play buttons disappear. My download queue is telling me I have 10 in queue, but only 6 are showing and the rest are displaying as empty cells. Please either fix the podcast section of the app, or enable subscribers to access through Apple Podcasts. ### 1/5 — Glitchy app *2023-11-09, version 2.2* The app is terrible, keeps turning off when it closes, can’t listen to podcasts without constantly touching the screen. Recently when listening the episodes stop and start. I have tried reinstalling the app and nothing helps. I am seriously considering unsubscribing from Mplus because of this which is a shame. please make this more accessible and easy to use you are loosing subscribers because of this app! ### 1/5 — Glitchy *2021-08-04* The podcast part is quite glitchy - podcasts won’t start, no reload/refresh function for when it does freeze, etc. was hoping the new MM app would function better than their last one but thinking I’ll just use Apple podcast app instead for now. Hopefully can be fixed soon. I’ve listened for years and it’s seen me through dating, breakups, pregnancy, the newborn bubble and of course COVID lockdowns! The only thing I would change to this app is rolling play on podcasts, or a way to create a playlist of continuous podcasting. All my favourite bits, articles, podcasts, tips in the one place, and all the content I need to keep up to date with the world and dig deeper into the things I love. I may never bother with the internet again! Also, M+ is amazing value for money and the content is next level. Extraordinary Stories and Out Loud are my happy place.
