## Most critical reviews (4 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Inconsistent

*2026-08-15*

Was so happy to find an app that rates skin and body for pregos until I found an inconsistency. I was getting medium risk for my shampoo, conditioner and curl gel when I search it individually. Believed it was bad and was ready to switch when I stumbled on the app’s rating on the full set of the same product and all of a sudden it was low risk? Doesn’t make sense how bundling all 3 products makes it low risk when it was medium risk individually.

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for flagging this. You’re absolutely right that the same products shouldn’t receive a different rating simply because they’re listed as a set. We regularly audit our ingredient data and update risk classifications as new evidence and guidance are reviewed, and occasionally an older product or bundle listing can fall out of sync after one of these updates. If you could send us the product names (or screenshots) at hello@mamaskin.app, we’ll review the listings and correct anything that’s inconsistent. We really appreciate you bringing it to our attention.

### 1/5 — Dangerously inaccurate and you need a subscription

*2026-06-03*

I only got three scans before needing to pay for a subscription. Wish I would have known that ahead of time. Did the free trial and kept going - scanned two different retinol products as a test (Paula’s choice and Beauty of Joseon) and it said neither had concerning ingredients. Deleted immediately, don’t trust it now

**Developer response:** Hi, thanks for your feedback. We’ve checked this and want to clarify that MamaSkin does flag retinoid-containing products as high risk, including products with retinol, retinal and related vitamin A ingredients.

The result described here does not match the product data we can verify. Some products from the same brand may not contain retinoids and can correctly appear as lower risk.

If you believe a specific result is wrong, please email hello@mamaskin.app with screenshots, the exact product names, or ingredient lists so we can investigate directly.

Product search remains free and can be used without subscribing, while scans are limited before subscription.

### 1/5 — I would not make decisions based on this app

*2026-01-03*

Wildly inaccurate information. Ingredients they are saying are safe are not. Insane.

**Developer response:** Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback.

MamaSkin’s ingredient assessments are based on established dermatological and medical references, and we take accuracy very seriously. That said, ingredient safety in pregnancy can vary depending on concentration, formulation, and individual medical advice.

We would genuinely like to understand which product or ingredient concerned you so we can review it carefully and improve where needed. Please feel free to contact us directly at hello@mamaskin.app so we can look into this properly.

### 5/5 — Very Helpful
