Honestly, it would be more convenient for me to sit at the gate and whip my boob out, but I thought I would give this a try. I’m not entirely sure why the entire thing is made out of plastic - if that was a design choice or they’re trying to cut cost, but it’s incredibly uncomfortable. I think we should be advocating for public spaces to have rooms dedicated to breast-feeding moms rather than drop these eye sores wherever they fit. I don’t mean to sound ungrateful, but it is more comfortable feeding a baby in a car than it is feeding a baby in a Mamava. I almost had to get on an 11 hour flight without pumping, which would’ve been pretty disastrous for my health and ability to feed baby, but I found an airport lactation room at the last second. Will not be relying on this app again. ### 1/5 — Took over five minutes to get in. *2025-07-19, version 9.27.0* Anyone who actually has a baby knows that taking time to download a humongous app and then logging into the app and then unlocking the door is ridiculousness. Your baby is screaming report it’s even finished and eighth of the download. And then once getting in the shelves, don’t have a changing area. Also, the airport should have a phone number signage placed by the pod door to help moms in need. Other airports have signage to call a number for a code. Disappointed with the app and the ATL airport. ### 1/5 — Atlanta Airport *2025-05-14, version 9.23.0* I used the mamava near gate A09 at the Atlanta airport to nurses my baby and try to get him asleep. I was horribly disappointed by the pod. It was a hard bench with no arm rests. I felt like I was sitting on a bench that was designed to deter homeless people not nurse my baby. It also had a grate on the top with a large fluorescent light above it so I couldn’t even dim down the light and you could hear all the noise of the incredibly busy airport outside. The difference between the two was JFK airport made me download the app and Burbank had the door code on the door. In a high stress situation where my baby is crying to be fed, the last thing I want to do is download an app, create a profile, then try to find the exact pod I’m in front of on the app, and then have the app unlock it for me. I had trouble every step of the way. First, my password wasn’t enough characters. Then I couldn’t find the pod in the app that I was literally standing in front of. Then it wouldn’t unlock the door for me!! Tried 5x and finally, when it gave me the code, I was able to unlock it and get inside. What made me feel weird was knowing that bc I’ve downloaded an app, now there’s data being collected about me using the pod. I just want to feed my baby. It would’ve been a much better experience if the code was just written on the door like it is at Burbank airport. ### 1/5 — Designed by a man *2024-05-18, version 8.17.0* Well, it was nice to have a private place to breast-feed. However, there was no elbow support and there was no AC… it kind of felt like breeding in a portaJohn. I I almost would have rather breastfed in public. Next time, try not to be so cheap and think about the woman’s comfort. Elder two kids played while I nursed and changed the baby and I didn’t have to worry about anyone running away. We turned the lights down to have a little quiet time and left completely recharged.
