## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — New update

*2022-03-06*

It been what a year or two that’s it Nothing more :( seriously

Taking too long I pay for this can’t believe no further updates seriously:(

### 1/5 — Not worth the money

*2020-09-04*

Example skunk, American hog-nosed. Range map is grossly inaccurate. Description either doesn’t include the numerous skunks I have seen or they haven’t seen a skunk. Drawing doesn’t match the skunks I regularly see or have seen. They show one major white stripe center of the back I see two white stripes on back more to sides. I have pictures. Don’t trust their naming conventions and the squirrel section is weak. I wanted an online guide but this isn’t it.

### 1/5 — Poor

*2018-08-05*

Bought the app and not very good. Drawings not real pictures and not very well put together. I want my money back. Don’t waste your time on this one

### 1/5 — Only metric

*2013-03-30*

I have Sibleys and really love it, so I bought this one and am really disappointed. Come on, this is for the US, it should not be in the metric system. If you want to have metric and the US system, that would be fine. For 9.99 its a rip off to only have metric measurements. The calls leave a lot be be desired. Not in the same class as Sibleys. It also needs to be updated to support the new bigger screens.

### 1/5 — None

*2012-08-27*

Difficult to navigate,no photos, minimal descriptions. Audubon has problems but far better.

### 1/5 — Very disappointing

*2012-06-25*

This app makes some very questionable design choices, making it difficult and unpleasant to use. Two examples: first, even though the description says it will work with the iPad, it is NOT an iPad native app, meaning you either have to double the resolution or deal with a tiny display. It is basically unusable on the iPad, which, given the nature of the app, is inexcusable. This needs to be updated to support the iPad. Second, the app does not support changing orientations. You must hold the device in a particular orientation (portrait) at all times. For the relatively high price, I expect much more than what you get out of this app. Avoid it.

### 2/5 — Limited information

*2013-12-14*

One or two pics per species. Short paragraph description. Worth $1.99 max.

### 2/5 — North American Mammals

*2011-08-20*

Design of the app is not especially creative. Also very expensive.

### 3/5 — Great app, but….

*2022-09-04*

This is a great guide app that even includes scat, which is very helpful. BUT, the location feature does NOT work for Canada, which makes it tedious to look for a particular species, especially with rodents etc.

### 3/5 — Too Limited

*2013-09-28*

I was surprised having paid $10 that it is so limited!

## Most praised reviews (5 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great reference to have in your pocket

*2013-08-12*

This is a great reference to have in your pocket as you are enjoying the great outdoors. The ability to filter by state is really nice for narrowing down the list of rodents. This digital format works great.

### 5/5 — I like it!

*2012-09-02*

I really enjoy the application. The images and pictures are easy to find and always in the same order: drawings of the animals, pictures of animals, scats and tracks. The picture can be widened by tilting the ipod (same with text). The text is well detailed, talking about: size, range, description, comparisons with similar species and habitat. The mammal calls are a good bonus. To be perfect, it only needs to have the names of mammals in French.

### 5/5 — Mammals of North America (Princeton)

*2011-08-21*

Awesome app. Works just like Sibley for NA birds, include compare feature and audio where applicable. Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — Best mammals app available

*2011-08-19*

Best illustrations - including scat and tracks. Love the compare feature and the zip code search. I own the book too and this app is the perfect companion. The app has extra photos and calls. Only thing I wish it had was a single button to clear the zip code - currently you have to set each digit to 0 again. Overall it is a Great app for people who love nature and animals.

### 4/5 — Such a great reference...

*2014-12-02, version 1.1*

Can't we have an iPad version?
