## What is Mana?

Mana™ lets you scan everyday products, from food and cosmetics to cleaning and clothing. Compare ingredients, materials, recalls, and real-world reports before you buy or use them.
The Mana Score™ is a 0 to 100 rating built on an idea most labels ignore: the dose makes the poison. The same ingredient can be harmless in one product and a real concern in another, depending on how much is present, what it's combined with, and how it's used. Mana weighs that context, including concentration wherever it's available, instead of reacting to a name on a list.

SEE EVERYTHING, NOT A MYSTERY NUMBER
Open any product and you get the whole picture, not just a number. Every ingredient and material is flagged positive, neutral, or negative, each with its own breakdown: the latest research, specific concerns, safer alternatives, regulatory status, a research integrity score, the sources behind it, and the date it was last verified. For food, the Mana Score™ weighs nutrition alongside safety. No black box.

INDEPENDENT BY DESIGN
Mana draws on publicly available regulatory and hazard data, including FDA, EPA, and EU standards. It flags ingredients banned in other countries, ones under active investigation, those that exceed maximum allowed limits, and cross-contamination risks. Mana is independent, not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency, and no brand can pay to change a Mana Score™. Mana also surfaces recall and safety alerts from monitored sources, so you know when something you use gets flagged.

FROM YOUR PANTRY TO YOUR CLOSET
Scan any barcode or search products by name:
• Packaged food, dairy, meat and seafood
• Fresh produce
• Personal care and cosmetics
• Cleaning products and household goods
• Baby products
• Clothing and textiles
• Cookware and containers

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
Mana goes beyond the barcode. For restaurants and establishments in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Austin and San Francisco, see current and historical health inspection records, seed-oil information, and reported allergen details, so you know their kitchen like you know your own.

COMMUNITY-POWERED
The official U.S. recall system is slow. A bad batch or an outbreak can take weeks or months to become official, long after people have already been affected. Mana is real time. The moment someone has a reaction, finds mold or a foreign object, or spots a problem with a product or a place, they flag it in seconds and the whole community sees it. It's everyone looking out for everyone, surfacing problems as they happen instead of waiting for the system to catch up. Check what others ran into before you buy or sit down to eat, and pass on what you find.

A WORLD THAT REFLECTS YOUR CHOICES
Meet Mana Man™, a companion who lives in a world shaped by what you choose. Every product you scan falls into one of five worlds by its Mana Score™, and your habits decide which one you live in:
• Harmony Heights (85 to 100)
• Lush Garden (70 to 84)
• Neutral Valley (50 to 69)
• Scorched Desert (30 to 49)
• Toxic Storm (0 to 29)
Choose cleaner products and your world flourishes. Let things slide and it fades, but a better choice always turns it around. Watch your choices come alive in a brilliant world of your own.
For years, the only people who really knew what was in your products were the ones selling them. Not anymore. You have the right to know what's in your world, and Mana puts the answers in your pocket.

Mana is for informational purposes only and not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always verify ingredients and allergens directly with the product maker or establishment, as details may be incomplete or out of date.
Download Mana and start scanning.

### 3/5 — Annoying notifications

*2026-08-31, version 1.16.3*

I really love the concept of this app, however there’s no way to choose what type of notifications it sends, and while I opted in to receive recall alerts and product scores for items I scanned, it also sends me notifications like “keep your streak alive” trying to get me to open the app and use it actively… which makes me want to do the opposite. I cancelled my subscription trial and I’m this close to deleting the app altogether and looking for something else that offers similar purpose. The interface is cute, but I’m not interested in gamifying product recalls. I want to be able to use it for its stated purpose without being bombarded by useless notifications all day!!

### 1/5 — NOT FREE ‼️‼️

*2026-08-29, version 1.16.3*

I found this app through threads where they are very active in informing about food safety and promoting their app. I was excited to find an app that actually cared about what we eat and a way to help us prevent eating things that are recalled or bad.

While going through the process of signing up I was even more thrilled because I was able to put in my specific food limits and allergies and what warnings I wanted to know about food. It then had me put my email in and confirm it… but that’s when it hits you with the paywall.

You can’t even enter the app unless you pay for the subscription. This company is as money hungry as the rest of the companies, don’t waste your time. And to the people who made this app, don’t claim you care about food safety if you don’t make it accessible for everyone. Majority of people with food insecurity’s and the ones that NEED an app like this are the very ones you’re excluding by making it a subscription. It’s disgusting to be honest.

### 5/5 — The best food safety app

*2026-08-20, version 1.16.2*

Been using mana for a couple months and absolutely love it, really great functionality being able to track everything and love how they make it interactive with the mana character/world.

### 1/5 — Sigh

*2026-08-20, version 1.16.2*

You can't use the app AT ALL unless you pay for a subscription. There is no free option. It doesn't tell you this until AFTER you put in your email, name, and other information about you. Everyone just wants money. There are other free apps and resources to get notified about recalls and other information. Putting this kind of information behind a pay wall is so exploitative.

### 1/5 — Must pay to use

*2026-08-20, version 1.16.2*

There’s no free aspects of this app. This should be clear before downloading and giving you my email address. Good thing I’m in California and can control my data. Can’t wait to waste their time with data requests like they wasted my time downloading and creating an app. I’m not interested in being forced to do a “3 day free trial” just to see any functionality of the app.

### 5/5 — Newbie

*2026-07-13, version 1.14.1*

I’m just getting started here! Overheard some chatter about this site… so checking it out! Love the cute little baby Mana! And the relaxing music so far… I’ve been using Yuka app to scan products when grocery shopping… but I hear this is a different and fun experience. So let’s go!…

### 5/5 — Highly recommend

*2026-06-19, version 1.13.7*

The restaurant health ratings are awesome. Also love the scanning, was pretty surprised to see the warnings on things I eat regularly. Super helpful way to be clean, love my mana man

### 5/5 — Dope

*2026-06-17, version 1.13.6*

This is surprising one of the most helpful apps I’ve used all year.. I might now ever buy anything without scanning first

### 5/5 — REVOLUTIONARY

*2026-06-13, version 1.13.5*

This app will change the world. From recall alerts, to easily accessible safety ratings for restaurants, to comprehensive scanning for every product I could ever dream of — I feel a sense of protection from Mana. In a world where no one is looking out for anyone but the big companies at play, this one feels like armor for the little guy. I feel safe with Mana. I feel like I can finally trust what I consume again with Mana as my shield and weapon. I no longer need to spend hours doing my own due diligence on the items I plan to consume because Mana’s got my back in a flash! Thank you Mana!!!

### 5/5 — Really impressed with Mana!

*2026-05-31, version 1.13.2*

Downloaded this out of curiosity and ended up loving it. Super easy to use and gives helpful information on products I use every day. Definitely worth checking out.
