### 2/5 — Scanner is bad

*2026-08-26, version 4.1.14*

The scanner is so bad to where just mainly typing it out is faster

### 3/5 — Wtf

*2026-08-24, version 4.1.12*

It gets every card wrong

### 4/5 — Super awesome.

*2026-08-20, version 4.1.12*

Love this app, has been super helpful. Bout the only reason I can’t justify five stars is there is some ease of use I think they could do to the app to streamline some of the features of deck building on it.

### 4/5 — Please don’t do this.

*2026-08-18, version 4.1.12*

This app has been integral in keeping up with my mtg collection. Literally thousands of scans. I’ve enjoyed this app enough to even happily pay for the pro version. Now even with pro version, there’s ads. I hardly ever actually leave a review, but this felt pressing enough. Please change this. I’d hate to learn a new system, but I refuse to pay for ads.

### 4/5 — Initial impressions

*2026-08-02, version 4.1.10*

Have been using for a few weeks now and it’s been doing ok. The scan feature is what brought me to this app (I had been using “Decked”). I have a lot of cards to work through and the scanner feature is helpful, it’s not saving as much time as I had hoped. My biggest issue is the inability to determine set, it rarely assigns the correct set to the card scanned. It also won’t scan multiple of the same card back to back, I have to scan a different card or at least different artwork. It also doesn’t identify most foils unless it’s a unique promo art. I have found the error rate in identifying the card scanned has been very low, and I have always been able to find the set in the drop down box. So while it is a useful app it still requires a lot of micro adjustments after scanning.

### 2/5 — Horribly Inconsistent

*2026-08-01, version 4.1.10*

A. The camera selection is basically a useless feature. It can really only focus with one of the lenses.
B. It lacks autofocus pretty much at all cannot find the focus to save a life.
C. No optical or digital zoom, often the only lens that is suited for sacnning is the wide angle so the lack of ability to crop the viewing image is abyssmal.
D. It certainly works better with a white background but you had best hope there are no straight lines on or around your background because the app immediately becomes unusable if there is.
Its a shame because when it works it is great but it feels like consulting a horoscope half the time.

### 4/5 — Good app with some missing features

*2026-07-28, version 4.1.10*

This is my go to app for all my MTG related card searches, personal collection, and deck organizing.

I wish the app had 2 things added. One is a history option so you can see changes you’ve made. The second being the export feature needs to include the set each card is from.

### 2/5 — Scanning sucks

*2026-07-26, version 4.1.10*

The ability to scan is cool but the scanner through this app sucks. I’m on a iPhone 17 pro max, I’ve changed the lighting in the rooms, wiped the camera, pulled the cards from sleeves (the camera usually picks up with sleeves) but again the scanner sometimes just doesn’t scan no matter what I do and it just makes the whole process of adding cards an entire night mare

### 4/5 — New set filter

*2026-07-26, version 4.1.10*

Set filter after taking photo is another step that is unnecessary

### 4/5 — Great, but…

*2026-07-25, version 4.1.10*

I love this app as it was the first one I used when I was getting into Magic. Although, after getting into the community for about a year, I realized one thing the app needed to set this app apart. I’m convinced that if you add the ability to add and share customs in-app, this could be the greatest app for tracking Magic cards of all time. You could even add a checkbox in the deck creation menu to enable customs, but you wouldn’t be able to share the deck. Overall, great app. Keep up the good work!

### 3/5 — Dodgy adds

*2026-07-22, version 4.1.10*

The app is great and I’ve used it a lot for my magic collection but when I fat fingered an add on the screen it went to a safari page about a virus being added to my phone when it was an Amazon add so just be careful when navigating the app

### 3/5 — A beta sync enjoyer

*2026-07-18, version 4.1.8*

Love all the new features, but the actual scanner aspect of the app sucks now. It worked better a year ago the last time I updated my collection. It can’t even get the card color right anymore. No I don’t own a million furby spellskites.

### 5/5 — PC PLEASE

*2026-07-15, version 4.1.8*

this is THE best mtg deck builder

### 5/5 — MUST have for MTG Players.

*2026-07-13, version 4.1.8*

Amazing application for players! I use it to keep my catalogue of Cards that I have in my bulk all up to date & current.

Amazing interface, works a treat, and extremely easy to get the hang of. Has also helped me build some decks here and there!

### 5/5 — You need it

*2026-07-11, version 4.1.8*

I don’t write reviews often. But if you’re even considering this app, just download it. For free, it gives you so many features. Super easy to use.

I will be moving to the paid subscription even though I don’t need it right now, only because I love the app that much and I want to support it!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Actually, a really good app! But read

*2026-08-24, version 4.1.12*

It needs work

### 1/5 — Scanner isn’t effective

*2026-08-13*

The scanner doesn’t work with black cards. It’s super annoying.

**Developer response:** Hi! Sorry you're having this issue. Could you send us a short video showing the problem at manabox@skilldevs.com? Make sure to scan on a plain background (like a white sheet), with good lighting and no glare or shadows, this helps the scanner detect card edges accurately.

### 1/5 — Raaaa im angry

*2026-08-13, version 4.1.12*

I actually have no problem with manabox i actually love it a lot but i thought this was a good way to get the creators attention(and once its noticed i will imediatley set it to 5 stars) I just think that there should be a feature with sets or decks were you can look at the set only including or excluding the cards you do or dont hve pls add this great app otherwise

### 1/5 — Disable ManaBox

*2026-08-09, version 4.1.12*

Can you please add the setting to skip the “ManaBox” logo intro? It’s unnecessarily similar to booting a console or PC and even longer than it used to be. I can understand the first time you install it but beyond that, why?

### 1/5 — Scanner pretty bad

*2026-07-28, version 4.1.10*

It mis-scans every other card for me. Too laborious to go back in and delete and correct all it’s mistakes. I’m going to try something else.

### 1/5 — My collection lose all

*2026-07-03, version 4.1.4*

My collection was overwritten, and all of my data is gone. I can’t restore it.

The app’s FAQ suggests using the “Restore Points” feature to recover the collection, but that option doesn’t appear in the app. It seems the FAQ has not been updated to match the current version of the app. Could you please advise how I can recover my collection?

### 1/5 — I’m not paying a monthly subscription

*2026-07-02, version 4.1.4*

The app is great, but you’ll get blocked by a monthly paywall to add more decks. I’m switching over to mythic tools.

### 1/5 — Deleted lists

*2026-06-26, version 4.1.3*

Used to love the app but with the constant updates that breaks more things than they fix. I no longer endorse this app. Updates deleted my folder and I have to be on a waitlist to even try to sync data. This is egregious

### 1/5 — Can’t sort collection by VALUE on IPad - TRASH DEVS terrible updates

*2026-06-24, version 4.1.2*

Do your devs realize you can’t just upload the same app in both places? This is one of the most inbred releases ive seen. THE SYNC SUCKs. How you mess this up is beyond me. Literally people losing collections because of how inept your devs are. YOU HAVE 2 APPS YOU ARE DEVELOPING. People pay for, stop releasing broken trash, inept devs.

### 1/5 — ADD ART CARD AND TOKEN PRICING

*2026-06-18, version 4.1.0*

doesn't let me scan art cards or price valuable tokens STILL after the several useless updates it's forced on me. if the tcgplayer app hadn't stopped working randomly i'd never use this

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fast schon perfekt

*2026-08-20*

### 5/5 — Amazing MtG app!

*2026-08-15, version 4.1.12*

The ability to scan the cards is so great! I can add them into collections and organize and see their worth. Highly recommend this app for MtG players!

### 5/5 — Stupendous App

*2026-08-13, version 4.1.12*

Absolutely fantastic app. Such a useful way for me to record my collection as a new player.
Couldn’t be more impressed with the scan feature - it’s quick and accurate. Many apps limit you to a certain number of scans that make them unusable.

### 5/5 — Fantastic app!

*2026-08-12, version 4.1.12*

I use it to track my entire collection. Flawless syncing across multiple devices. Easy exports and shares. The best.

### 5/5 — Best MTG app

*2026-07-30, version 4.1.10*

This was the best app for helping me get back into MTG. It's super easy to use. I heavily rely on ManaBox to make my commander decks and the card prices are fairly accurate (I use TCGPlayer pricing). I love everything about this app and I cannot recommend it enough as someone that seldom writes reviews.

### 5/5 — Essential for any magic collection

*2026-07-22, version 4.1.10*

Incredible depth to all the folder creation and sorting/filtering. Amazing way to build lists of cards you want to buy, and either export as a text list to your local LGS, or click buy in the list and automatically load your cart at CardKing or Manapool. My only complaint is the scanner doesn’t seem to be quite as stable as some other apps, and can start freaking out and blasting out false positives of random cards, especially when you’re trying to scan full arts and foils. But, overall, my collection would be complete chaos without this app.

### 5/5 — must for scanning cards

*2026-07-22, version 4.1.10*

don’t even think about it. just download it and scan a card.. great tool. thank you!

### 5/5 — The BEST MTG card organization app!

*2026-07-18, version 4.1.8*

Track your collection?

Check!

Create lists of cards you want?

Check!

Get current values on your cards and see how much your value has changed since your purchase/acquisition?

Check!

Fast scanning that is pretty darn accurate in comparison to all the other apps out there?

Ultra-check!!

There’s no other current MTG app I need to keep up with my growing collection. It provides everything you need to know where you’re at with your cards, and helps you know where the median price is for cards that you own, or cards you are seeking to add to your MTG PC. I Always recommend this to any player that hasn’t discovered the app yet.

Thanks for the app! Keep up the awesome work!!

### 5/5 — The Best

*2026-07-16, version 4.1.8*

There is no way I could build any of the decks I want without this app. It’s provided me hours of deck making fun.

### 5/5 — Best card scanner on the market

*2026-07-15, version 4.1.8*

Works easy and when you get the hang of it… game changing. Scanned my whole collection in one night.
