### 2/5 — connect iPhone to OP1 this way instead:

*2023-09-14, version 1.2.1*

Buy a camera kit dongle for iPhone that has the extra charging port ( usbA and usbC )

using the Files app you can do everything this did but slower! even update.

Now that usb audio in / out is enabled on the OP-1 please come back again. I miss this app.. it was so convenient and quick!

### 1/5 — Don’t buy, it doesn’t work with newer versions of iOS

*2021-05-13, version 1.1.0*

I think this probably used to work when iOS files worked differently, but now the OP-1 doesn’t show up when you hit connect in the app, it just pulls up the iCloud file browser. So it doesn’t have any usefulness anymore. I am thinking about writing a new version of this app

### 1/5 — I wanna like it

*2021-05-10, version 1.1.0*

I wanna like it I really do. But it doesn’t work, it’s buggy and crashes or freezes whenever in use. I tried contacting the developer for support and haven’t received any word back.

### 1/5 — No longer works

*2021-05-05, version 1.1.0*

Sadly, this app has not been updated in some time, and it is no longer able to open files from the OP-1. This effectively renders it useless. It’s a real shame, as it was absolutely wonderful for a long time. I hope the developers consider fixing it - especially as they charged a chunk of money for it up-front.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2021-03-29, version 1.1.0*

Absolutely disgusting. Also their website has NO MENTION of this app, and that’s from clicking the link from the App Store to read their privacy policy.

### 2/5 — Worked once but now crashing constantly

*2021-02-28, version 1.1.0*

Assuming you're getting my crash logs from my iPad... I created one project, all good, but now when I load that project it crashes. When I search op1-fun and nothing is return, crash.

### 1/5 — Won’t connect to op1

*2021-02-02, version 1.1.0*

I’ve tried a bunch of usb cables to try and get it to connect but the app will not connect to the op1. Waste of money.

### 2/5 — Waste

*2020-12-24, version 1.1.0*

Constantly crashes and infrequently detects my OP-1.

Refund please, devs.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on iPhone

*2020-07-21, version 1.0*

Unless someone can tell me how, the op is not recognized like it shows in the tutorial. Is there a way to get a refund for things like this?

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2020-07-17, version 1.0*

I’m not able to find any documentation. Does not work for my iPhoneX and OP-1 (about 2 years old).

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Does this work with the op1-field?

*2024-08-08, version 2.0*

No response from developer.

### 1/5 — This is only useful on an original OP-1

*2024-05-27, version 1.2.2*

It needs to be clearly stated that tape backups will not work with an OP-1 Field. This does not support MTP. Big waste of 5 bucks…

### 1/5 — loaded files do not play

*2024-02-05, version 1.2.1*

loaded two tapes, cant get either one to make any sound. tried loading into Logic Pro directly from the device and they worked immediately. This app is a complete waste of money. I would like a refund.

### 1/5 — Crashed my OP-1

*2023-06-01, version 1.2.1*

Just tried to load a previous tape track and bricked my op-1. Won’t boot into TE mode.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2023-03-29, version 1.2.1*

If you are goint to produce an app then at least make sure it works. I tried it on a Mac and an iPad with the same results, it rarely works. If this was free it would not be worth having. Refund applied for.

### 1/5 — Does not work with OP-1 field

*2022-11-18, version 1.2.1*

I also wanted this to work. But it doesn’t. Save your money. The app does not recognize the op-1 field in any way. This is with me following the instructions 100% and setting the field to disk mode. No go. Sucks.

App dev. Get this fixed please. I’m a dev too, I’ll have to build my own app out of frustration and become competition otherwise. :), so get on it.

### 1/5 — Can’t get it to work

*2022-11-18, version 1.2.1*

Tried multiple cables multiple dongles. Sounds like it used to work based on other reviews. Hopefully it gets fixed, but definitely disappointed I didn’t read the reviews better before spending $5.00.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work

*2022-09-03, version 1.2.1*

After trying multiple hubs and an update, I eventually got it to connect once and upload a project. Way easier to just connect to my Mac and pull the files into Ableton. I would have loved to use some of the samples- It errors out trying to save them. Not sure if it’s the connection issue or something else.

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2022-02-18, version 1.1.0*

That’s all the app seems to do! It does nothing else but crash!!?

### 1/5 — So Frustrating!

*2021-05-31, version 1.1.0*

I bought the Apple camera connector and an unpowered USB hub in order to get this to work and nothing. The iPad just won’t recognise the OP-1. Damn, I really wanted this to work!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works Brilliantly

*2024-09-25, version 2.0.1*

Great app. Now my Op1 has a ‘memory’. So easy to save tape tracks, switch projects and back up. Patch download also works perfectly. The only caveat is that you need a powered USB adaptor as the lightning port on an iPhone does not have enough juice to communicate with the OP1 without external power. The Mac OS app also works perfectly so easy to view and edit files on other devices.

### 5/5 — Works great on iPad Pro

*2021-12-16, version 1.1.0*

Using a USB-C to mini USB cable. Exactly what I was looking for!

### 5/5 — Lots of cables but it works!

*2021-03-06, version 1.1.0*

My set up is an iPad with a camera adapter. The camera adapter is plugged into wall power on one side. The other side is plugged into the op-1 cable. That cable is plugged into a usb extender then into the op-1. Power on the op-1, go to com mode, then attach cables, then switch to disk mode. You can test that it’s working before you buy by checking that the op-1 appears as a drive in the Files app.

### 5/5 — WORKES AS ADVERTISED

*2020-07-18, version 1.0*

Open the files App and select the connected OP-1. Was planning on it not to work due to reviews but It definitely works as advertised.

### 4/5 — It works. But it’s a bit unstable.

*2022-05-30, version 1.1.0*

Most work can be done from the file browser. You don’t need this app. Except for the 4 track playing. That’s pretty cool. I like that.

### 4/5 — Has some bugs but I love it

*2020-07-21, version 1.0*

The main issue I had on my iPhone X was the OP1 not connecting via USB. I realized it wasn’t connecting in my “FILES” app either, so it clearly was not this app’s problem. I tried connecting on iPad Pro with a dongle and that worked fine. I tried importing and was confused as to whether I was supposed to press SELECT or OPEN or DONE but eventually realized I was to SELECT files and then press OPEN. Then I had an issue naming the file properly. I couldn’t complete the entry unless I very lightly swiped down in order to make the keyboard go away revealing the DONE button.

But once I got my first tape in the app and could zip through the reel, auditioning my project, I realized this app had potential.

I then started importing some old projects and although some tapes were imported blank, mostly it imported correctly and I had a nice working archive of the last few months of OP1 projects I could review.

After discovering the OP1 MANAGER folder in my FILES app, I tried dropping a few old tapes in at once and found that they populated in the app flawlessly.

I then dropped my entire archive of tapes dating back to late 2016 and I now have my entire OP1 history available to quickly review on my iPad and iPhone.

It feels great.

I sent an old tape back to my OP1 and it decided to defragment my hard drive before starting properly which took 5 minutes or so. I have a feeling this one is the OP1’s fault though.

Overall, great app. Teenage Engineering should’ve made this years ago.

### 3/5 — not complete for op1 field

*2024-02-05, version 1.2.1*

seems to connect but does not support mtp for the OP-1 field.

### 3/5 — Great but crashy

*2021-10-26, version 1.0*

Awesome App but crashses on macOS Big Sur when switching views. I have crash reports if this would help to fix!

### 3/5 — it’s been 8 months.. fix the bugs!

*2021-07-14, version 1.1.0*

this app has the potential to be my favorite app on iOS ever.. but it’s so buggy!! Please release a new update! I’ve been experiencing bugs when using the search function on the Patches section of the app. It just closes the app! I haven’t experienced much else but I’m sure the negative reviews have much more to say. This is the only app that efficiently backs up and plays back tape from the OP-1 like this in such an organized and seamless manner. Please continue to work on it!

### 2/5 — Crashing

*2024-01-10, version 1.2.1*

Keeps crashing when you go to patches
