## What is Mandarin The Wild?

Read real Mandarin and understand it, one tap at a time.

Tap any word for its pinyin and the meaning that fits this sentence, not a list of twenty. Keep the words you want to learn, and Review brings each one back right before you'd forget it.

• Safari: turn on the Mandarin The Wild extension and tap Chinese on any website for the same card. Mine keeps the word in your Backpack.
• Library: stories and articles from HSK 1 up, many with narration, each showing how many of its words you know.
• Immersion: share Chinese from any app, WeChat, Safari or Notes, and read it with the same tap-to-understand.
• Backpack: every word you keep, with the sentence you found it in and a link back.
• Review: one card at a time. Swipe right if you remembered, left if you forgot. Reading and Listening keep separate schedules.
• Offline: Review and the sources you keep work with no signal.
• A clear recording for almost every word.

### 5/5 — The best app for learning Mandarin Chinese for me

*2026-10-29*

I always played around with different apps to hopefully get this language to stick. I tried them all ahah… this app was the final thing I needed to keep everything in one place, help me remember what I learned from watching and reading. Couldn’t be happier :)
