Was working just fine yesterday and it’s only when I’m on the app that my phone will reset. App needs an update or something to fix this issue. Would say it’s a highly recommended app but due to recent issues I wouldn’t recommend it to people. Might have to go to another app that can actually allow me to use it properly. ### 4/5 — One bug *2024-02-18* This app is very good. And I love how they have so many things on here. But there’s a very annoying bug that deletes all the manga you have read and saved. This has happened to me multiple times. And I have to go back and find all of them again. That’s the only problem other than that highly recommend. ### 2/5 — Small selection *2023-12-31* There’s a small selection of manhua and manhwa on this app, very few of the major titles. The first 2 days worked just fine, but then it’s starting to reset the app on its own and even lock the phone when it does that. But, I can’t use the search function properly. It lets me type in names if I use my original manga reader app, to be able to enter the name and find it on manga Max. I however, cannot search for the specific genre I would like to read, it closes the app every time I try. I would like to see this fixed in the future but for now, the fact that I have my old app with the same names as the new app, I am able to find them, but if I don’t use the old app, then I can’t find the genre that I enjoy easily. ### 3/5 — Getting tired of this *2023-08-31* Opened the app today and found (for the second time) that all of my history and favorited titles had disappeared!!!! Getting really tired of having this happen. And don’t get me started on the adds. There are adds every 1-2 chapters and it’s sooo annoying!! And like even when you exit a chapter you still get an add. Also, sometimes when I press on a chapter it doesn’t load at all even if I have good wifi. But I would them to make a feature where it will save were you left off on a chapter. I find it a really inconvenient to keep scrolling throughout chapter just to find out where I was. ### 4/5 — Good but confused about the age rating *2023-06-20* This app is great! I’ve been using this to read my manga for a while, it’s full of amazing stories! But when it says 12+ and there is some nudity and sexual harassment it does confuse me. That’s how I ended up giving only 4 stars. I do thank that it is separated by genres so the more mature mangas are in the “mature” genre. But even still some young kids at like 12 or 13 could see this. It’s not very healthy for their brain development. But other than that the stories and mangas are great and I downloaded I bit too much manga on the app. There are a bit of things on the adds that are a bit inappropriate but it is a bypass. That’s it from me! This is a good app to download! Just if your a youngster, ask an adult for help if you download this app or before you download it! ### 2/5 — You can’t read it offline, false advertising. *2023-05-30* Read Offline? You CAN’T even read it offline. It’s ridiculous. I downloaded some chapters so that I can read them on a roadtrip. Once entering the app it says “No internet connection” Ok understandable. I tap on the “Downloads” button. There’s my Manhwa but it’s not displaying the cover, Um ok. I clicked on a chapter and it said IMAGE UNAVAILABLE. I scrolled all the way down all the boxes said IMAGE UNAVAILABLE. I don’t understand why you have a “Download” feature if it’s NOT even gonna work offline!! **Developer response:** Hello, maybe it's server problem. Please update latest version. It keeps track of your most recently read comics, let's you add certain ones to your favorites and get notified when new chapters are released, etc. But my favorite thing about the app itself is that it shows how many chapters there are and how frequently new chapters are added. It makes a huge difference! The comics themselves are delightful and I'm addicted to several series. I thought downloading the chapters would help , like it was a connection problem… but no it’s just that they can’t get simple scrolling to work properly. Waste of money. ### 2/5 — MangaReader app from 5 Years ago was better. *2024-03-08* So, I sometimes look at new apps. A few years ago, I went through 30 apps wondering what to use instead of manga reader (by robin studios - removed off the App Store btw). All of them were miserable experiences filled with ads and poorly set up. Here I am randomly looking at new apps to see if the situation is different or better. I say all this to build context that this app is perhaps the best app since the removed manga reader. Thank goodness I haven’t deleted it and I’m still using it just fine. How so? Because if that app is a 5/5 despite not being updated for around 5 whole years -> it is still better than all these apps. Not to suggest that it isn’t flawed, as some features straight up don’t work anymore, like the in-app-only screen lock (to prevent rotation). This app, as I said, is perhaps the best app I’ve seen on the iOS apple store in a few years now and comparing over 30 apps - and it still a 2/5. It’s slow, it has a tiny catalogue with no way to change the source and stuffed with ads. Furthermore, the premium is expensive. To put it into context, the removed manga reader app was a one time payment of $7 or $8 and that was still too expensive for everyone at the time. Ya’ll have conceded too much ground allowing these manga apps to screw you over so badly. On top of that, they charge you how much? And it’s only for a month? They’ll never stop unless they fail, ya know. ### 2/5 — Abundant Ads, terrible UI *2024-02-16* Don’t press anything, you’re going to get an unskippable ad. The UI is half blocked and floats off the bottom of the screen. The only thing this does well, is actually view manga, but you’re going to spend atleast half a minute watching an ad. Ideally, I'd prefer the freedom to read all episodes without dealing with borrowing, points, or similar restrictions. While I understand the need for authors and translators to be cọmpensated, the points and coupons system doesn't sit well with me. However, to my pleasant surprise, it features amazing cọmics, and the ad system is well-designed. You can read a few chapters and then watch a short 30-second ad before continuing. It has quickly becọme one of my favorite apps, and I appreciate the effort in maintaining its quality. I'll definitely be recọmmending it to my friends. There are a lot of web comic apps I've used in the past is this is by far the best. There aren't a ton of annoying ads, and it tell you what chapter you left off on so you know if you're late to a new chapter and has a wonderfully accurate recommendation formula.
