### 5/5 — Best game in a long time

*2020-07-27, version 1.0.14044*

This is an amazingly done game with great visuals. It has welded and creeped me out. The fact that it looks like it was drawn in with a pencil made it seem 2d, and it had me fooled. I know that the Apple Arcade made an excellent choice collaborating with the game’s creators. The fact that it is completely unknown what kind of god created the universe from within the game makes it look like it created itself. This should spam a whole series of games. What this game needed was a warning towards people who get motion sickness and have sensitive eyes.

### 5/5 — Crazy, headache-inducing fun

*2020-06-13, version 1.0.13294*

I will say, this is by far the most intense puzzle game I’ve ever got to play on a phone. No others come near this. I love the idea of multiple dimensions and fractal geometry, not to mention the lovely symmetry. It has a great aesthetic. The gameplay is very interesting and makes you think constantly. There is no resting. It’s very overstimulating when played for a long while. Gives me a headache!! But that’s because it’s just so fun and intriguing that I can’t put it down.

### 5/5 — Simply fantastic

*2020-06-05, version 1.0.13294*

First off, one of the best game soundtracks/audio effects I’ve come across. Hair raising, especially towards the end. The game is simple enough on the surface but there is a lot of depth and secrets to find (I’m still searching) if you look for it. Very interesting yet mysterious and minimalistic plot. The puzzles were challenging in a good way, and exploration usually helps with the ones I got stuck on. Played on an iPhone 7, so graphics were slightly reduced (as you’ll see in other reviews) but still found them to be striking. Definitely going to grab the PC version.
P.S. Falling is your best friend :)

### 5/5 — A wonderful, mind-bending puzzle

*2020-04-07, version 1.0.13294*

I will admit, I haven’t yet completed the game.
But I must say, I am very impressed so far. They give you a handful of tutorials at the beginning, how to move and place and such, and then after that you’re on your own. This makes the game challenging, know that you’d have to ask around for help if you get stuck.
Luckily, the puzzles included are difficult enough to make me think or take a break for the day, but not so hard that I give up on the game in total.
The idea and story that you follow through the game is quite fascinating in itself. It appears you’re helping to push away the darkness with the cubes of color and life that grow on trees. While working with the dark cubes, I have to remind myself that nothing is going to jump out at me since it has that sort of feel.
I will definitely continue playing this game through, and highly suggest it to people who enjoy puzzle games such as “Monument Valley.”

### 5/5 — Highly recommended! One issue though

*2020-03-28, version 1.0.13294*

First off...this is an amazing work of art! I’ve gotten stumped quite a few times only to end up realizing that the solution is much easier than I thought!

However, the further I get...the more it slows/lags. I totally understand that this game demands a lot of power and graphics. I hope that there could be at least a slight improvement in performance. It won’t take a large bump by any means. Just a slight boost would be enough, I think! (I am using the 6th generation iPad).

Overall...great work!

### 5/5 — Bring innovations to the puzzle genre

*2020-03-03, version 1.0.12829*

This game is amazing. It bases on the gameplay of gravity and triggers. Be able to walk on all the surfaces of the level to solve puzzle is a quite refreshing experience. The creators of the game mark different sides of the wall with different colors, it is a really user friendly approach to avoid space confusion. The feature surprised and delighted me a lot is the endless falling. In other games, the great depth is the symbol of game over. But in this game, it is a puzzle solving mechanics, really innovative. I am only 1 hour into this game, but I plan to keep digging in. The only question I have so far is what’s the story of the game? Maybe I can find my answer later in the game.

### 5/5 — Absolutely Mindblowing

*2020-02-17, version 1.0.12829*

I am not typically one to leave reviews, but this game had such an effect on me that I feel compelled to show my support and share how much I absolutely adore everything about this game.
The mechanics of gameplay are simultaneously simple and mind-boggling. The visuals are gorgeous, and the sound design is subtle but beautiful. The experience itself is immersive, perfectly paced, challenging, and yet relaxing.
I can’t even begin to fathom the creativity, logic, passion, thoroughness, and endless hours of effort that must have gone into the creation of this game.
Easily the best game in the Apple Arcade, in my opinion!
Congrats to William Chyr and his team on developing such an artful and creative game. :)

### 5/5 — What? Love it, but what?

*2020-01-19, version 1.0.12829*

I’m used to puzzlers with malleable laws of physics. Portal and Antichamber are some of my favorite games, even. However, I have learned that I have a breaking point with my understanding of the non-euclid, and that breaking point is this game.
A complaint could almost be made that it works TOO well. It’s difficult to wrap your head around in all of the right ways, and combining the game’s poor relationship with Newton with the age-old “box-on-button” puzzle results in something entirely new.
I will say, though, I don’t believe IOS is the best platform to experience this. The framerate is pretty sluggish by default, and it gets worse whenever looking at particularly complicated geometries. It’s not a huge damper on the game, though, and given that this game is multi-platform, it’s forgivable.
My only real complaints with the actual game are mostly found in the options menu; the lack of look-sensitivity and FOV sliders is a bit upsetting. It would also help if there were more options than “slowly rotate the camera upon changing gravity” and “instantly teleport to the wall”.
Other than that, it’s headache-inducing and I love it very, very much.

### 5/5 — A mind-bending, perfect game

*2020-01-14, version 1.0.12829*

This game is fantastic! The puzzles, the art, the soundtrack, every bit of it is well designed and fits together perfectly. The way it teaches you new puzzle mechanics is intuitive, and yet instantly makes you have to extrapolate to use them in new ways, bending your mind in the process. There are very few puzzle games that make you feel SMARTER after playing them. This is one of those games. The puzzles are challenging but not impossible, as long as you adapt to new ways of thinking about your environment. Incredibly rewarding, and visually stunning. The ending alone was well worth the effort of getting there, but every world along the way will keep you wanting more. It’s the perfect puzzle game. What else are you waiting for?

### 5/5 — Make your progress accessible, like a map

*2020-01-10, version 1.0.12829*

What a gem of a game. I can only hope there are sequels on the horizon.

I have one request. I love the central garden where you return the hyper cubes and it adds a tree and temple to each side of what seems like an inverted Rubix Cube of a home you’re trying to renovate. The problem is by the end of the game I can never return to look at the finished result. There’s no way to navigate the worlds I’ve discovered. Once you’re in the final area, there’s no going back to that garden. Why? It would be so rewarding to just chill and look at the finished result. Let all your levels be accessible by the end. They’re works of art.

### 5/5 — Best puzzle game you could imagine

*2020-01-10, version 1.0.12829*

The experience you have playing this game is unlike any other. Manifold Garden takes the reality of gravity that you’re used to and destroys it, forcing you to adapt to a whole new concept. It puts you on a path of complex problem solving in which you have to learn the ropes of the new physics as you go. The game truly messes with your mind in the best way possible.

### 5/5 — A masterpiece

*2020-01-04, version 1.0.12829*

This game is mind blowing. In short, it’s a puzzle game with the principle mechanics being the ability to change gravity and working with infinite iterations of each world. The implications of these principles tickle the brain in the best way. This is what Mathew McConaughey saw while inside the black hole. Welcome to the fourth dimension.

I suggest playing this on a larger phone or better yet an iPad. Touch controls are easy and intuitive, but I think having a larger screen really helps with both enjoyment and puzzle solving. I played on a 2018 iPad Pro and loved it. I also suggest playing this in a quiet room or with headphones. The music isn’t critical to actually solve anything but it does add a lot to the overall experience.

### 5/5 — My fav game of all time but...

*2019-12-08, version 1.0*

I love this game and could play it over and over again. It’s my fav game of all time and absolutely astonished of the geniuses who created this game. But I wish there was a graphic adjust to make the graphics better for faster phones. Also wish there were more inside rooms and maybe some different puzzles within the main puzzle. Sub puzzles I guess. It would also be amazing if there was a night version where the moon is bright and everything around is lit by the moon. And everything inside is lit by structures inside. Anyway just ideas but I think a night option would be amazing. I’m a fan for life with this game!

### 5/5 — Wow

*2019-12-07, version 1.0*

This is probably apple’s best arcade game in my opinion. I was able to kind of guess the ending, as I recognized the figure early on. The ending though, was beautiful nonetheless. This great game will twist your mind as you twist and turn reality to solve puzzles made from third-dimensional shapes, all within a multiverse. Although humans cannot experience what is imitated in the game directly, this game produced what I imagine is the best representation of the figure so far. This is definitely worth a play, and see it through to the ending. Then you will see what I mean by the ”figure”. Great work developers.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Very annoying glitch 👎👎👎

*2021-10-30, version 1.0.15892*

Don’t get me wrong, the developers really thought it out while making this game and I love that part. But this major glitch is really annoying and made me lose my progress.
I’ve overall played this game for about a week and towards the beginning everything was fine and dandy, I was progressing well. But on day 2-3ish I’d sign in and I’d go back 1-2 puzzles. It wasn’t too bad because it was simple then but just yesterday I accomplished the purple section(and was half way through the next level) and SAVED the progress I had in my log.
So today I decided to play a little and I got back tracked a whole 2 levels in a really random location. So I checked my log and all my progress moments were gone again! (And I am the only one to use my device/account so no one else can access it).
Very annoying and completely ruined the fun of this game, do not recommend unless you love losing progress

### 2/5 — Great game, but unstable on iPad

*2022-10-04, version 1.0.17336*

I really want to like this game, and I do for the most part. The puzzles are fun and the visuals are wonderful. But the game is really unstable on iPad. Frequent slow down and lag, and numerous crashes. The game will always crash at least once when I place the color cube at the end of each level. Now, at the end of the purple level, it crashes every time. I reload and it just crashes again. Currently, I cannot advance past this point. I’m going to keep trying, since I really want to see the end of this game, but its possible that I will be unable to finish it. I’m not sure if the devs are still looking at this game, but I would really appreciate this being looked at.

### 2/5 — It’s cool, until you hit the wall. Literally.

*2020-02-18, version 1.0.12829*

I was charmed by the mechanics and visuals of the game, but at a very specific point, I can’t go any further. At first, I exhausted everything possible in the game itself. Then I had to swallow my pride and look for walkthroughs to help me advance. Nothing. It’s been months. So now, I’m caught with either the end of the game (which up to this point was entirely too short to be fulfilling), or I’m caught up in a game that’s tried too hard without needing to. It’s a beautiful game and it’s fun. But be careful; your brain will ache and it may not be worth it.

### 3/5 — Great game… until I got stuck.

*2021-08-08, version 1.0.15683*

I have been really enjoying this game. I unlocked all 6 colors and was working on whatever comes next when I dropped into a small space in a tree with gravity upside down from the tree’s point of view. The space is too small in all 4 directions so I can’t switch gravity. I have no other saves because whenever I save it overwrites the previous one. When I load the game it takes me right back to the spot I am stuck… :(

### 3/5 — Bit buggy?

*2019-10-29, version 1.0*

Some of this I’m not sure is intended or not because of the nature of the same, but it sure seems not quite right. Sometimes it seems like what’s on the other side of a portal doesn’t load. Like I’ll walk up against something it seems I should be able to walk through and see sort of what’s on the other side, but can’t walk any farther. To make matters worse, in trying to save and reload to fix things, saving doesn’t seem to do anything (I have an older save that never seems to be overwritten).

The game was great for as far as I’ve been able to get though. Sort of a conceptual mix of Portal and an abstract The Witness.

Edit: This was on the latest model iPad Pro 11.

### 4/5 — Easy game to lose yourself to

*2020-12-08, version 1.0.14044*

I absolutely love this game and finished it in two long sit downs on the Apple TV. I really loved the game play and design. The controller wasn’t great on the game and sometimes lagged here but not on other games. It crashed a few times at key points, but it saved frequently enough that I wasn’t angry when I had to restart. I would have given 5 stars if not for these issues. Really an outstanding game. I desperately want it for VR so I can play again in 3D.

### 4/5 — Help me

*2020-05-10, version 1.0.13294*

My world is broken beyond repair. I know not logic, nor reality. The truth does not exist, only lies that are twisted enough to resemble the truth. You do not live. You do not exist. You are simply an invisible force far to complex to even be comprehended. The only fact that you can accept is that you are here. Unless, of course, you are there. Perhaps both are correct and you are everywhere. But, perhaps you’re nowhere. You exist, yet you don’t. You couldn’t possibly comprehend what is around you, yet you understand enough to know what to do.

### 4/5 — Great game but needs lot of optimization

*2019-11-03, version 1.0*

I played this game to iPhone X and iPad(6th gen).
Very impressed puzzle style and level design. look like antichamber style puzzle game. and this game easier to understand than antichamer.
But this game have lot of optimazation problems. Suddly crash, iPhone and iPad vewing angle difference, and hell of fps drops.(much more iPhone X)
It always look like under 30fps. every time i solved any color level(red, blue, ect) awesome fractal thing in air, my phone(and iPad) go lava hot and fps drop 10fps around i guess. just can’t walk normaly.
But still this game is Awesome.
I played around 5hr, and reach the ending sceen. sadly the ending sceen also fps drops a lot.(looks like real time rander)
Sorry for 4 stars. I hope these problems solve soon. then other players will play more comfortable.
Thanks!

### 4/5 — Almost a Masterpiece, Definitely a Mind Explosion

*2019-11-02, version 1.0*

This beauty feels like it gets close to maximizing the potential of a mobile puzzle game, especially in the visuals. It’s a marvel that is worth the good kind of frustration that difficult puzzles present. This might just be me: the missing fifth star is due to what I felt was a slight lack of interface clarity, although others could take it as part of the fun mystery of the game. I kept forgetting that you change GRAVITY in this game, not SIDES of the room/formation - the key to solving at least one of the puzzles is placing and standing on blocks (rather than the floor) so you are at the right gravity to manipulate other color blocks. And there are musical cues that I think reveal that you are going in the right direction, but I’m not sure. All in all - go for it, and get ready for a mind explosion.

### 4/5 — Interesting play, massive in scope.

*2019-10-23, version 1.0*

I originally gave this game a two star review due to poor UI design, but, I submitted a help twist and the designer of the game messaged me back very quickly explaining he understood my problems and clarified the controls and explained they were adding better clues early in the game to help idiots like me who got stuck easily.

I’m very early on in the game but it’s got a very interesting concept going on. I like that there is a lot to explore and learn on your own. Don’t try to rush, the game has a lot going on so just take your time and enjoy.

And one hint: if you’re playing this before the hints are updated just know you can interact with objects in the game by tapping on them. This is not initially clear to some players and they quit in frustration. This will be fixed soon.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — I kept Apple Arcade for this game alone

*2023-03-12, version 1.0.17336*

I come back and play every couple of years. The few glitches are long gone. Very immersive. Fun to just fly off the buildings and play around. Thanks for one of my all time favorite games and for fixing the major glitch a long time ago. How about another game like this one?

### 5/5 — Please make a part two!!

*2023-02-18, version 1.0.17336*

I love this game so much, one of my all time faves. I will say that the iPhone format is a little difficult with all the swiping, as it pulls down the notifications screen a lot. Other than that, I would really love to see some kind of sequel; I’ve beaten all the puzzles and want to see more. Fantastic work from this team!!

### 5/5 — Very rewarding/Must play

*2022-03-04, version 1.0.16214*

The puzzles are clever and fun. It’s hard, but not painfully frustrating. The graphics are great (runs phenomenally on both iPhone Pro 13 and Apple TV 4K) and the sound even better. Not many games give me such an emotional pleasure when the credits finally roll like this one did. Such an amazing journey.

### 5/5 — yes yes yes again. Exactly what I needed

*2022-01-07, version 1.0.15998*

This game. Ugh this GAME. it literally is everything I’ve ever wanted in a game. The mind ending ness just increases as the game goes on. At first it kinda directs you through the “levels” and then once you’ve established that it’s like Kay here’s the “map” now go and figure out how to do what you need to do. And what you need to do changes so frequently it’s constant entertainment. And then the whole jumping off the map and arriving back on the map thing… I love it. The way the game is challenging but not stressful is what makes it a to die for game. Sure some things are a little bit difficult to figure out at first but once you’ve figured it out oh the satisfaction. The only complaint I have is my game would glitch out and then not save my data but it’s ok, because yeah it’s ok.

### 5/5 — Trippy and challenging

*2021-11-25, version 1.0.15998*

I have no real complaints. It’s like being transported into a blocky version of an mc escher painting. I’m thankful this game is available on mobile. I emphatically support all efforts to make well-designed games like these accessible to anyone who doesn’t have the means to invest in gaming computers or consoles. I can just tell that a lot of love was put into making this. You get a real sense that whoever created it had a lot of fun.

### 5/5 — One of the best puzzle games I’ve ever experienced. Not played, I ~experienced~.

*2021-09-14, version 1.0.15892*

I have really only finished the first major level so far, and have a long way to go, but I have never been as impressed and stunned as I have been playing this for the first time. The game is headache inducing, with the hard to wrap your head around and floor flipping mechanics, but it is an absolute joy to play.

A couple of things to note. It’s very graphics intensive. I love the art style and it played perfectly on my iPhone 12 Pro Max, but not everybody has an iPhone 12. There are a ridiculous amount of things to render and the level of detail on light and shadows are incredible. Not to mention the sound effects, from the eerie to grand music and the pings and pongs of boxes on various materials.

The controls aren’t as bad as other people say, in fact, I felt it played quite smoothly, although I am an experienced iOS gamer. Very minimal controls, tap to do an action, camera movement with the right side of the screen and a small dpad for character movement.

Overall, I am really satisfied with this game. I was actually about to unsubscribe from Apple Arcade but this game blew me away and will keep me playing for awhile longer. Nothing cooler than going through a small door to see an incredible view just beyond.

### 5/5 — I fixed the cubies

*2021-06-30, version 1.0.15683*

This was a lot of fun to play. It was a challenging puzzle game that added new little changes and options at each level to give it new perspective. Some steps to a while to complete either because of my mistakes or slow movement. I would have liked having a map sometimes of discovered areas. I almost got stuck once because I hadn’t completed an earlier piece I skipped. This was good to play and come back later and encourages new thinking. The birds and trees are a nice touch, but something more personable would have made it feel less lonely. I think that was intended, but I still would have liked a traveling companion or something to make it feel like I was interacting with a character. The infinite multiverse gets lonely sometimes.

This was a great challenge for a puzzle addict, and I really like the ending.

### 5/5 — Amazing game, but the ending is bugged

*2020-12-21, version 1.0.14044*

I love non-Euclidean puzzles, and this is no exception. The puzzles are fantastic, and I found on a few of them (most notably involving river directing puzzles) there’s actually more than one solution. Overall, a great game to sink an afternoon into.

For some reason, once I’ve collected the final tesseract-looking block and run through the entrance that spawns, I’m met with just a solid wall at the other end of the corridor, with nowhere to go. After spending a few minutes wondering if this was a final puzzle, I ended up throwing up my hands and taking to the Internet — the one and only time I did so during my play through — to find that where I was getting a solid wall, other players were getting a staircase. I ended up having to quit the game from multitasking and restart it for the stairs to render properly and the ending of the game reachable.

### 5/5 — One of the best games I’ve played

*2020-11-05, version 1.0.14044*

Just beat this game. So satisfying. Had no clue what I was getting into when I downloaded it. I usually dislike FPV controls on a touchscreen, but I was so drawn in that it didn’t matter. I would even say I’m definitely more open to FPV on the touchscreen after having played this game.

... But how the level design and mechanics are intertwined makes for one of the best gameplay experiences I’ve had. I can’t even imagine the care that went into it. The music, sound design, and art direction totally hooked me immediately. It’s easy to compare this game to Portal for all of the right reasons, but this is NOT A CLONE. It is a totally unique and authentic experience. I can’t say enough good things. Thank you so much for creating a new favorite.

### 5/5 — Pure Mindbending Euphoria

*2020-09-26, version 1.0.14044*

This game is art. Not just the breathtaking visuals, either. The game play, the graphics, the mechanics; the way it teaches, the way it hides, the way it promises, the way it fulfills. This is truly one of the most awe-inspiring experiences I have ever had through phone or computer screen. I want to shake the hand of each person behind its creation.

If anyone out there has any degree of interest in puzzles, dimensions, space, physics, surrealism, colors, infinities and the like... Play this game. And if you don't, play anyway.

I guarantee it is an experience you won't forget. I know I won't.
