## What is ManiShelf?

I had 20+ tabs and bookmarks for manga, manhwa, and anime scattered across browsers, and a spreadsheet that wasn't pretty or functional. So I made the app I wanted: one place for everything I'm reading and watching.

ManiShelf lives on your iPhone and manages your entire collection of manga, manhwa, light novels, and anime. No account, no subscription, no telemetry. Your data lives on your device - not on a server that could disappear tomorrow.

KEY FEATURES:

• Import your existing collections with scores and progress. Add new titles directly from the menu bar, or paste any link and the app will suggest adding it and attach the source so you can find it later. Covers, descriptions, scores, voice actor cast for anime, linked titles - it's all there.

• Optional iCloud sync between all your Apple devices

• Set up a custom release schedule for Manhwa and be notified when a new chapter drops. Automatic notifications for new anime episodes with no setup. Pick any notification sound you like, or none at all.

• Organize your collection with tags and filters: In Progress, Backlog, Dropped, On Hold. Save your custom filter setups and reuse them anytime. Just added 8 seasons of your favorite anime? The app offers to group them under one card while still letting you rate each season individually. Incognito mode hides selected titles from the grid on launch. ;)

• Browse your statistics and get personalized recommendations based on your taste. Export to JSON, XML, or CSV. Back up or share your library with friends.

PS: ManiShelf isn't a reader - it's the cozy shelf where your collection lives.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 2.0.1 — 2026-08-21

Fixed a bug when grouped titles disappeared from stats

### 2.0.0 — 2026-08-13

Long-press any cover and the library drops into selection mode. Tap everything you want, then set status, add tags, drop them all in a list, group them, or delete them in one move. No more opening titles one at a time to mark a series finished.

Grouping came to the phone. Seasons, volumes, spin-offs and movies: pick a parent, put them together yourself, split them back apart whenever. The Mac has had this all along and the phone should have too.

Search now has two ways out of a dead end. Manga and manhwa search covers MangaUpdates as well as AniList, so Korean series AniList doesn't carry will turn up. And when neither site has the title at all, you can add it by hand and fill in the details yourself.

You can set a cover from your own photos, too, for the series where the only published art is half a double-page spread.

Fixed along the way:

- Ratings imported from MyAnimeList or AniList came in ten times too small, so 82% read as 0.8. Fixed, and the wrong ones get repaired for you on first launch.
- A second season is no longer turned away as a duplicate of the first.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-05

Tapping a cover now opens the title you actually tapped. A few series have cover art that's wider than it is tall, and those were quietly claiming the space beside them, so the card next to one would open instead or nothing would.

Search in the Add tab suggests titles while you type. No need to press Return any more.

Searching your own library is less fussy about spacing: "spyfamily" finds SPY×FAMILY.

The library is quicker to redraw, so swiping back out of a title no longer hesitates half way.

Release notifications don't show up twice when your Mac and your iPhone both spot the same chapter.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-03

No release notes.
