## What is Mantel?

Put your own photos on your Home Screen. Mantel is a photo widget with no subscription: pick a few photos, and they rotate in a widget — your dog, your friends, last summer — right where you already look. No ads, no account, and nothing leaves your phone — except that Pro syncs your sets through your own iCloud (you can turn it off).

Use it as a vision board, too: pick the photos of what you're working toward — the trip, the house, the finish line — and keep them on your Home Screen.

■ What it does (free)
・Pick photos with the system picker — Mantel never asks for access to your whole library
・One set of up to 12 photos
・A Small widget on your Home Screen that changes photo every hour
・Choose whether each photo fills the frame or fits inside it
・Add and remove photos any time

■ Mantel Pro (a one-time purchase, not a subscription)
・Medium and Large widgets, as many as you like
・Unlimited sets — family, travel, pets — one set per widget
・Unlimited photos per set
・Rotation interval: every 15 minutes, hourly, every 6 hours, or daily
・Shuffle

Reaching a limit never removes anything you already added. Only adding more stops.

■ Privacy
Only the photos you pick are copied into the app. Your originals in Photos are untouched, and your photos are never uploaded anywhere.
To improve the app, only anonymous usage (the app was opened, a widget was displayed) is sent — never your photos, and never your name, email or advertising ID. You can turn it off under Privacy in Settings.

No ads. No subscription. No account.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-10-13

New in Pro:
• Switch sets by time — family in the morning, someone special at night. Pick the days, too.
• Words on your photos — add a short line on top of the photo.
• iCloud sync — your sets and photos on your other iPhone, in your own iCloud only.

Also new:
• Adjust position — choose which part of each photo the widget keeps in view.

### 1.3 — 2026-10-06

New in Pro:
• Lock Screen widgets — a small photo and the set name, right on your Lock Screen.
• Next photo button — tap it on the Home Screen widget to move to the next photo.

### 1.2 — 2026-10-05

• On the free plan, once you have your set, the main button now says “Add photos” and opens the photo picker right away.
• Tapping a Pro option like Shuffle now shows a short note instead of a full screen.
• The purchase screen no longer gets stuck loading, and tells you if a purchase couldn’t finish.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-29

If some of the photos you pick can't be added — for example photos kept only in iCloud while you're offline — Mantel now tells you how many and why, instead of doing nothing.

### 1.0 — 2026-09-25

No release notes.
