I absolutely love the app - excellent Bible study tools. I used this app extensively when I was writing my second book. But I have a new device and can’t get Mantis to download my content. A little help please! ### 4/5 — Common Spanish version (RV60)with typos *2024-11-27, version 10.1.72* Using this app on a daily basis, I have encountered a good number of verses with typos: Spanish accented characters, being shown as codes. For example: Acts 23:3a in RV60: 3 Entonces Pablo le dijo: ¡Dios te golpeará a ti, pared blanqueada! ¿Estás tú … The words that appear ad <>, <>, and <>; are: golpeará , not <> Estás, not <>, and tú, not <> The verse should thus say: 3 Entonces Pablo le dijo: ¡Dios te golpeará a ti, pared blanqueada!¿Estás tú … If I am provided with an email, I may reply with all the specific text in which I have encountered these, and similar, typos. I am Very sad *2024-08-18* Si many years, working hard to build my favorite topic/folders of favorite verses, so when I needed them they will be there quickly available, AND I could quickly see the preview to select the verse that I needed. Mantis doesn’t do this anymore. I am stuck with this one after spending money in bibles and commentaries…but rely on Holy Bible app for verse search alternative. It seems this one has been left abandoned. Once the best study bible app out there with incredible bookmarks capabilities. No…support. ### 5/5 — Favorite Bible Study App *2023-09-04, version 10.1.72* With so many Bible apps out there, Mantis uniquely lets me view cross references without leaving the verse I was studying. With the NASS, I can see other uses of Greek words and even their root words without leaving the verse I was studying. I haven’t found any other resource quite like it. ### 5/5 — The Best Bible App you would need *2023-04-18, version 10.1.72* I love the cross referencing ability by a tap on the Strong’s word. To understand thr deeper mean from the original translation. There are various dictionaries, various versions of the Bible, commentaries, etc, but of course you have to purchased them. My favourite would be CWS Bible with Strong’s and that is my core reading and research for a deeper understanding on the Word of God. The support team behind Mantis is very responsive. Each time when I change my iPhone and something went wrong, the suport from email never fail to resolved. Just be patience as there may be a time zone differences. It is a really great app, and I like the Bible versions that are available. The problem is that there is absolutely no support. My iphone is now so old that it will not update to the latest versions, but I cannot transfer any of my purchases to my new iPad or a new phone, so once I go to a new phone, I will lose all the money that I have paid for added Bible versions. I have sent numerous emails to the company, but there is nobody left to respond. I used an email when I was in school, and now that email is no longer valid, but the app does not allow me to put in a new email, and there is nobody left at the company to even read emails or respond to them to assist me. it is one of the best apps out there, but I highly recommend that you never buy additional versions. ### 3/5 — Useful, but frustrating *2023-02-15* Frustrating. Upgraded to Mantis X a few years ago and ever since it’s been Impossible to access my notes. The bookmarks, notes, & etc are lumped into a new feature, & impossible to figure out how to find any of it, after years of trying. Mantis claims the notes are not lost, but good luck proving that. Lesson: keep your Bible notes on paper, because app developers periodically have “great new ideas” that don’t pan out. I was doing a Bible study on hell and I looked the word Sheol to give me reference of where and how many times it was in the Bible and it came up with zero When the word is actually there in the Bible Mehhhh not good ### 1/5 — Backup Does Not Work *2025-11-14, version 10.1.72* I have used this app for over 10 years. I loved it and had it rated five stars. Now, I am about to upgrade phones and have been told that none of my decade of markers and notes will transfer over to the new device. This is the most support – unfriendly apps I’ve ever used. My select/copy/paste feature disappeared from the app, so I deleted the app, and download it again. I can log in, but none of my Bibles or other purchases appear. Apparently it updated to a new version and everything was lost. I tried restoring purchases but I get an error message. The website is unhelpful and I have just given up. Sad to see it go, but not worth the trouble to figure out how to get everything back. I've invested substantially in commentaries & other material via in-app purchases, but now it probably won't work on your phone or iPad, especially if it's a relatively new one. It hasn't worked consistently on mine for several years. I used to get angry when an app I invested in would be abandoned & eventually stop working but that's the nature of the digital world we live in. Unfortunately, I’ve upgraded my devices many times since anyone at Mantis has updated their app. Their website has been unchanged for years and while they gladly take money from customers, their contact us page doesn’t work and they don’t respond to emails. With my latest phone update, my password no longer works to restore purchases and it seems nobody is around to help. Note: The update where we had to create new user accounts was tough. To get the purchased Bibles into the library after following the instructions wasn’t working.
