## What is Map Area & Distance Calc?

Map Area Calculator turns your iPhone or iPad into a fast, precise land-measuring tool. Drop a few points on the map and instantly see the area, perimeter or path length — no GPS walk-around, no paperwork.

MEASURE ANYTHING ON THE MAP
• Area mode – outline a field, lot, roof, lake or building and get its area and perimeter
• Distance mode – trace a route, fence line or trail and get the total length
• Marker mode – pin a single point of interest and read its coordinates
• Live preview shows the distance from your last point as you move the crosshair
• Drag any vertex to fine-tune the shape; undo, redo and clear in one tap
• Geodesic calculations account for the curvature of the Earth, so results stay accurate over large distances

THREE BASEMAPS
• Satellite – high-resolution aerial imagery to trace real edges of fields and plots
• Street map – roads, blocks and place names from OpenStreetMap
• Terrain – topographic contours for hikes, trails and rural land

UNITS FOR EVERY JOB
• Area: square meters, hectares, acres, square kilometers, square feet, square miles
• Distance: meters, kilometers, feet, yards, miles, nautical miles
• Switch units at any time — your measurement converts instantly

IMPORT & EXPORT
• Export any shape as KML, GPX or KMZ and share it with Google Earth, QGIS, GPS units or a colleague
• Import KML, GPX and KMZ files from Files, Mail or any other app, or paste XML directly
• Everything you save stays on your device

SAVE & ORGANIZE
• Save measurements with a title, notes, a category (Field, Land, Construction) and a color tag
• Search your saved list and reload any measurement with one tap
• Jump to a location by searching for it or use your current GPS position

BUILT FOR
Farmers and agronomists sizing fields • Landscapers and contractors quoting jobs • Surveyors and real-estate agents checking lot sizes • Roofers and solar installers estimating surfaces • Hikers, runners and cyclists planning routes • Anyone who has ever wondered "how big is that?"
