## What is Map Mirror?

MapMirror gives everyone at the table a shared, living map to look at your world, city, region, or battle. Point at a door, measure a spell's range, reveal the next room, and your players see it live.

It's made to support your in-person TTRPG game, not digitize it. You keep rolling real dice around a real table. MapMirror is simply the map they gather around, with your cities, regions, and dungeons linked into one connected world instead of a random pile of images.

Connect a TV wirelessly with AirPlay or a monitor over a cable, and the map mirrors live.

• Square & hex grids with real-distance calibration
• Tokens, labelled markers, and fog of war
• Draw on multiple layers, from a quick sketch to a map you build up over sessions
• Link maps with markers and jump from the world map into a city or dungeon
• Measure distances in your own units, point things out with the laser pointer
• Control exactly what your players see and plan ahead in private
• Notes, folders, backups, and image export

No account. No internet needed. Nothing leaves your device.

Free to try with every tool unlocked. The free version includes:
• 2 maps and 1 note
• 4 tokens per map
• 2 markers per map
• 2 texts per map
• 2 drawing layers per map
Backups and map export are part of the full version. One purchase lifts all limits and you keep it forever. No subscription.

For the optimal experience an iPad with Apple Pencil is recommended.

### 1/5 — Requires premium for everything

*2026-08-11*

Absolutely garbage app, you get three choices of premade maps and everything to make your own maps is locked behind a 9 dollar paywall. Not worth it, the search for a better mobile dnd map making app continues.

**Developer response:** Sorry to see that hard reaction to the paywal. I’ll take the feedback and communicate it more clearly in the future.

To clarify: you can create your own maps in the free version too. All the tools (grid & hex, tokens, markers, fog of war, measuring, drawing on multiple layers, etc.) are available from the start. What’s limited is the max number of maps, markers, tokens, and layers.

And just to set expectations: Map Mirror isn’t meant to be an alternative to Procreate or Inkarnate and it never claimed to be. It’s more of a digital whiteboard to present your world for the group at the table.
