The app looks great and the images are sharp. I love Maps Made Easy and wanted to use this too. But you cannot plan a mission on your desktop, which is annoying, and cannot import kmz or shp files to help planning. On your site it says the Mini 4 Pro (one of the drones I'd like to use this with) is Export Only. Clicking on that link it takes you to a page where it says you should choose it from the settings but it will only allow you to export a KML file for use with the DJI Fly App. I don't have anything in the settings of the app to allow me to choose any Export Only drone though? Could someone possibly let me know how to get this app to work with an export only drone like the Mini 4 Pro please? The other guys (not going to mention their name) program is simple compared to this one. As I type this I’m mapping an area using Map Pilot with Terrain Aware so that someone else can process with DD. I don’t have to say anything else, these guys helped me more than anyone with photogrammetry. Not sure how to purchase base app. Ugh. ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2023-07-16* I’ve used this app for years, since it was the maps made easy app. I had previously purchased the terrain following token on the older app. They updated to the new app which was fine but today the new app had an update. Now you have to pay a monthly or yearly subscription to fly certain altitudes and overlaps out of nowhere. I cannot open old missions or even the ones I planned yesterday because the altitude is not allowed at my “service level”. I am very disappointed and looking for other flight planning options/apps. ### 1/5 — App crashing *2023-06-01, version 5.5.0* When the drone is found a prompt appears, after I click “ok” the app crashes I have an iPhone 13 Pro on IOS 16.5, DJI Mini 2 ### 1/5 — Mini 2 mission warning!! *2023-03-03, version 5.4.14* Just to advise, planned a mission for my mini 2. Flown and returned to home. Whilst in air, I created another plan. This locked the app. However, even DJI Fly was unable to control the drone and it sat there at 360ft above me. RTH didn’t work. In the end, after some bum clenching, constant manual switching in and out of sport mode gave control back to DJI Fly. I won’t be using MMP again. Make a edit and hit exit. Doesn’t warn you or save changes. I emailed the developer years ago with a whole list of other issues, the result? No reply and the only response was I open the app again last year and got a notice that’s it’s been abandoned. Fully paid up for $99 and my only choice is a expensive month to month subscription now. You aren’t a Drone Deploy or Pix4Dcapture; can’t charge the same people, based on my previous experience with your company. I already have a orthomosaic app and cloud is useless to me. ### 1/5 — Conflict with dji app *2021-08-26, version 5.0.10* Beware! If you use the DJI go app, this maps app may reset many of your DJI settings. I opened up the DJI app to launch my aircraft and switched over to this maps app to set up a flight plan. I had to go back to the DJI app to show a client how the drone captures and discovered that this maps app reset my camera settings on the DJI app. I had to go back and change the frame rate, the ISO, the shutter speed, the white balance, etc. This happens every time I open up the app while I’m using the DJI app. Maybe you’re not supposed to use both apps at the same time. But sometimes I find it necessary. Regardless, one app should not affect the settings of a different app. That’s a problem that needs to be fixed immediately. ### 1/5 — Don’t pay *2021-06-06, version 5.0.5* I downloaded ‘map pilot’ app and paid for the pro version. I am not a technical guy- this app is extremely easy to use and get results fast in the field. The software is just as easy to upload and pick your deliverables. Highly Recommend ### 5/5 — BEST DRONE 3D MAPPING APP *2023-05-05, version 5.4.15* I have been utilizing aerial photogrammetry for almost 8 years and have still yet to find a better all around app to get the job done than Maps Made Easy. Not only is it user friendly for experienced users and new, the outputs provided by the stitching engine is second to NONE. My usual method now involved a proprietary manual mapping method combined with MME’s automated terrain following grids combined. This includes DJI and Autel models, with the engine capable of stitching both. Most recently, asked to create the 3D environment for Guardians of the Galaxy 3 final scene, I utilized both Maps Made Easy flight planning as well as it’s stitching engine for the final deliverable product to MCU for use in the film.
