## What is MapForMe?

■ Saved pins piling up?

The more you save in Google Maps, the harder it gets to find anything.
MapForMe imports that saved data and turns it into a place log that works for you.

■ What you can do

・Import in bulk
Bring in the file you exported from your Google Maps saved lists. Hundreds at a time.
You can also hand a file straight to the app from the share sheet.

・Imported places sort themselves
MapForMe looks up coordinates and addresses, then groups places by country and tags them by genre.
　No manual folder wrangling.

・Tags and lists on your own terms
"Cafe", "Great views", "Kid-friendly" — make whatever you need. Colors and icons keep them apart.
Filter with one tap, or organize in bulk from a long press.

・Still quick to find, however many you save
Search by name or by your own notes. Stack filters — region, tag, list, status —
and sort by date added, name, or your rating.

・Clear the backlog in one go
Add a tag or a list to everything you selected. Mark them all as visited, too.

・Been there / want to go
Record visit dates and your own rating. Places you've been fill up with stamps.

・Trip plans
Line up your stops, arrange the order, and hand the route straight to Google Maps.
See it all on a calendar. Plans can be shared with family and friends.

・Found a place on social media? Three seconds
Add it from the share sheet, or just paste a URL.

・Recover a place from a photo
Read the location from where the photo was taken and save that spot.

・Fix a location that's off
Search and pick again for places that didn't resolve, or landed in the wrong spot.

■ No account needed

Your data stays on your device. Export a backup whenever you like. No ads.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.0 — 2026-08-29

■ Fixed a bug in restored data

Restoring a backup could turn places with no status set into “been there”. That is fixed.
If you have restored a backup before, filter the list by “been there” and take a look. The fix applies to restores from now on; places that already changed are not repaired automatically.

■ Pick how you want to start

When you first open the app, you can now choose between:
・Places already piling up in Google Maps → import them all at once
・Finding places from now on → add them one at a time from the share button
You can change this later.

■ Small display fixes

・Reworded how prices are labelled (tax is handled differently by country, so the note was dropped)
・Tidied up the colours around the first-run guidance

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-17

What's new

・Four tabs: Spots, Map, Plans and Settings. Lists and tags are now managed from Organize in Settings.

・Settings were regrouped by what you are trying to do, so the item you are looking for is easier to reach.

・Saved places were redesigned in the list, so the region, tags and status read at a glance.

・Tips and sample data notices moved to the bell at the top of the screen.

・Plans now lead with the trip that is coming up soonest.

・Press and hold a spot to switch between want to go and visited right there, without opening the detail screen.

・Places you labelled in Google Maps, such as Home and Work, can now be imported. The import guide can request them for you.

・The share menu in other apps can add a place to MapForMe. The first-run tour and the add dialog now say so.

Improvements

・Fixed rows in the list becoming taller than needed for spots with no status set.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-08-10

IMPROVEMENTS

・Fixed an issue where the map stopped responding after an import finished. The map kept being pulled back to its previous position during the import, which made it look frozen.

・Fixed an issue where an interrupted import could use up more of your remaining allowance than it actually needed.

・Re-importing the same backup no longer creates a second copy of your plans.

・The number shown as "locations to look up" before an import now matches the number actually looked up.

・Visit dates now follow the conventions of the language you use.

・The Back button in the import guide is easier to tap.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-08

NEW

• Sample data
See what an organised ledger looks like before you import anything — one tap adds a set of example places. Japanese and US sets are available. You can remove them at any time, and your own data is never touched.

• Import in three steps
"Wait for the email" and "get the file" are now one step, so there is less to go through. A reminder arrives around the time Google's email does, so you can come back to it even if you forget while waiting.

• What's new
Tap the logo at the top of the screen to see every update in one place.

• Credits and licences
Settings now has a "Credits and licences" screen, where you can see where the map and region data come from.

• Compare plans
The monthly and annual plans now sit side by side, so you can see both prices without switching between them.

IMPROVED

• On devices set to English or Korean, the system prompts asking for location and photo access now appear in that language.
• The privacy policy now opens in the language the app is displayed in.
• Usage data is now only sent to servers in Europe. If the destination cannot be confirmed, nothing is sent.
• Fixing a place's location and filling in locations in bulk now count the remaining allowance correctly.
