I picked the lowest allowable plan (mostly to see if it would be worth it) and invited him to it. He was also asked to pick a plan with no option to continue under my plan. I was under the assumption, based on information in the help center and other online forums that, in addition to this being largely available for free, that subscriptions to Maple+ (the AI, basically) would be extended to those invited to your family on the platform. I think there needs to be either an update or a clarification on whether this is actually free and there’s some type of error in the app itself (understandable, just requires a fix), or if the marketing for this is inaccurate and it’s actually an app that requires payment (especially payment from everyone in your family). ### 3/5 — Won't let me use Apple Maps *2026-07-11, version 27.3.3* Google maps is inaccurate, so I don't have it on my phone at all. This app forces you to use google maps and there's no way to switch it to apple maps or to copy the address so that you can paste it to the map you actually want to use. I tried pressing, "Give feedback or suggestion," multiple times and obviously it's a fake button because it doesn't actually take you to any forms like the rest of the buttons. Please allow me to switch the automatic map to apple instead of google. ### 3/5 — Aggravated *2026-06-14, version 27.0.6* I been using it for awhile and loved it. Loved the new ai feature. Was helping so much. Planning recipes w what I had on hand. My problem was my ai was stuck in the wrong time zone. So it was planning everything an hour ahead. I tried every fix I could think. Then I saw update available and now can’t use ai at all now without paying. :( ### 2/5 — Was the best assistant until you started charging for using ai *2026-06-03, version 27.0.4* I just opened the app today to see that the ai assistant is no longer unlimited. It was the best app on the market and now it’s gone down hill just from trying to charge us for basic things like using the ai assistant. It has a lot of good things but for incredibly busy people, like myself, the lack of customization (like color coding) was frustrating and overwhelming. It doesn’t want to upload photos, it doesn’t want to add folders, it doesn’t want to delete things. I think once these bugs are fixed, it will be perfect! ### 2/5 — Not a fan *2025-12-22, version 23.5.10* We wanted to like this app, we gave it a shot. It’s clunky and not user friendly. It logged us out multiple times and we didn’t realize it until there was a scheduling conflict/error. You used to be able to sync calendars, now you have to pay for that feature. Sorry not going to pay for anything when the free version needs so much improvement. I’ve opened this app about once every couple weeks for the last 2 months. Every time I open this app, it looks different and I’m having to relearn how to use the app. I just want to make the recipes that I have saved. I don’t use the rest of the functions of this app so I can only imagine how frustrating it is to have to relearn how to use your family organization app because it keeps changing on you. I’m looking for a new recipe box app, and will be moving my recipes over there once I find another one. I think this organizer is pretty good- you can make and assign a to-do list for the day, import your recipes, and create a meal plan. I’d like to create recurring to-do lists, like sets of cleaning tasks that must be done by someone on a weekly or monthly basis. Maple came across my Instagram feed and I figured I’d try it. I LOVE this app. The AI assistant is so smart and helpful. This definitely quenches my thirst for the skylight calendar. I have it on my phone for on the go and I put it on my iPad too and that sits on the kitchen counter for everyone to see the plan for the day. I love the meal planning section and how easy it is to write your shopping list right from the meal plan section. It makes so much sense. I can easily assign tasks to my husband and they go right to his phone. It’s a great place to keep track of shared appointments for our son as well. If you write an email to the support staff they get back to you really quickly with actual helpful advice/explanations. 10/10. ### 5/5 — By far the best ai assistant *2026-03-31, version 26.0.5* As a newly diagnosed neurodivergent mother, I have recently moved out on my own with my husband and son and it’s been hard to keep up with housework and everything we have to do. Maple is amazing and an absolutely godsend. I am currently organising it but it’s so easy to use. You ask the ai to do something and it takes the whole thing off your plate. No more lost lists or excuses. The only issue I have is when the list gets big it glitches, opening and closing the subgroups and missing categories and items which is annoying but working with several smaller lists and breaking them down is negating that issue. Might want to get it fixed though developers! Another reason why I like it because I can have my separate to-do list and she can have hers without me seeing her and without her seeing mine. The only thing is it alerts me every single time my mom opens the new note whenever she finishes a note whenever she has a note on the calendar and that can be annoying.
