Maple scan said Canadian Company and Canadian product. I Purchased Stubs dill pickles and Stubs bread and butter, thinking CANADIAN… Not satisfied with the taste, I checked the label, ugh, PREPARED IN INDIA. ### 2/5 — Does not work *2026-02-03, version 2.2* I have tried looking up dozens of products and it has found maybe one. The latest was a can of peanuts imported by JohnVince Foods in Toronto but identified as Smuckers Peanut Butter and that us no where near the actual product. Yes I have the most updated version by today, March 10 2025 ### 1/5 — Accuracy is Suspect to Poor *2025-03-10* At least part of the database must be relying on AI generated info because it cites Campbell’s Soup as a Product of Canada. Campbell’s closed their Canadian plant in 2018. The reason why I think it’s an AI fail is because it cites sources, but cites them abysmally wrong. The app tries to offer you Canadian alternatives to products, but the suggestions it gives you are often nonsensical or only tangentially relevant. Nice start, but not ready yet. You’ll end up buying American because of this app. ### 1/5 — Only thing it does is crash *2025-03-09* Absolutely useless app. Only good for crashing. ### 1/5 — Not reliable, very slow *2025-03-07* Usually gives the wrong product as the result. It scanned Becel margarine as Peanuts (and suggested Becel as an alternative), Simply Orange juice as Minute Maid, and Smuckers Marmalade as Orange Juice. Certainly not reliable! It takes 20 or 30 seconds to come up with a result, so if it’s wrong you have to do it again and it may get it right. Not good if you’re comparing several items. And this was after I got a notification that they had improved the scanning! You have to tap the maple leaf to take a picture & scan, which is different than other apps. **Developer response:** Sorry about that! We’ve made some updates that should improve scanning reliability. Be sure to capture a picture of the whole product as well! If you’re still having trouble, please let us know.
