### 2/5 — Expensive!

*2026-08-03*

I would not download this app unless you are on board to pay for it. The free version of the app isn't very useful. If you have a lot of disposable income, or
plan to use it constantly. It may be worth it for you.

At $60 a year to rent the app or $150 to buy it I think this app is out of the price range for most hobbyist Dungeon Masters. Unless you play extremely often and make maps constantly it will be very difficult to justify the cost.

Don't bother trying it and hoping to catch a sale, the price is the price, no sales, make sure you're willing to pay before you waste your time downloading or learning it.

### 5/5 — Great for On The Go DMs!

*2026-07-24*

Absolutely love this app! I do all my campaign prep and running on my iPad and this has been an amazing addition for making maps. It’s like a mix of procreate and dungeondraft and constantly improving. I’ve been able to use it to make some quick maps whenever my players throw me for a loop, or make detailed maps when I have the time to sit and let the creativity flow.

Also, the developer is amazing! He’s active in the app discord and quick to respond to any issues, requests, feedback etc. There’s parts of this app that feel a bit work-in-progress, but the foundation is absolutely solid and the developer seems to really care about its growth. I’m very excited about it and absolutely recommend it to other DMs!

**Developer response:** Thank you so so much for the kind words! Truly happy that you like it so much and happy we were able to fix that bug for you so you can enjoy the app Freeze free!

Enjoy!

### 5/5 — Maps on the go

*2026-06-16*

I would recommend MapMe app for person who is interested in making map especially on go. It will take some storage on the iPad but it worth it with all your maps are located in the app and easy to edit them and save them on the iPad and or cloud. Plus you can download the finish map to the your photos. The developer of the app is very kind and resourceful, they do engaged with the customer with both answer to a problem or need advice on how to do things on the app they are willing to answer and help. Finally there is MapMe+ an option for a person that have or prefer maps asset’s they like to use when make their maps. It comes in Monthly subscription, Yearly subscription and One-Time payment option.

### 4/5 — Wonderful, just not quite what i need

*2026-05-29*

after moving all of my DnD related stuff to IPad, this app seemed great as an alternative to dungeon scrawl, which i think the creator might have assets on, at least some of them looked familiar idk, anyway, it was great for making landscapes, but kind of lack in the super fine details (i was attempting to make a map of a city in my campaign) and i had to make every building from scratch (kinda). It’s a great app and I’m sure my explanation is under par, just not quite what i need. That being said i do see this app being very very good in the future if the dev keeps up the awesome work

**Developer response:** Hey! So glad you have it a shot! I’d love to hear what was missing for you and see if I can either help figuring stuff out, or maybe you have an angle on the product I haven’t considered yet, which other people might be missing too. I’d love to hear your thoughts and maybe I can widen the focus of the app to make it more fitting for you. If you’re down to talk, send me an email at ferdinand@nandme.app and let’s chat :)

### 5/5 — Blank Screen - Could Not Figure Out Customer Support (UPDATE!)

*2026-05-10*

There isn’t much to say right now. I didn’t see many reviews so I wanted to go ahead and try it out.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t do anything but play with the map size from the edit button. After picking a size, I realized there were two options to select. I could cancel, which worked, or I could choose available assets, which did not work despite having the free trial assets downloaded. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it still didn’t work.

I also tried to figure out how to get in touch with the developer team, but couldn’t figure that out. Basically nothing happened, but I am interested in trying out this app. It looks like fun even though it’s a more limited free version.

And, yes. I’ll update my review if I am able to actually use the app. But right now, I just don’t know what I could be doing wrong.

UPDATE: It’s fixed! After a few months, I revisited the app and it works great! I watched the quick start video and followed along with no problems. For a free iPad app, it’s great! I wanted something quick and easy for when I have my iPad around but not my laptop. This fits the bill! I’m just starting out so the free version will work for now. But I’ll be keeping an eye on the paid content.

It’s a good free basic map maker for fantasy role-play with additional options available for purchase. I’m very happy to be able to update my review!

**Developer response:** UPDATE: So happy I was able to get the stuff fixed for you! Thanks for updating the Review and helping out with getting things right. I don’t take this lightly and am so glad it worked out :)

Hey! Thanks for trying the app! That sounds quite odd and is not expected behavior, so feel free to shoot me an email at ferdinand.werner@mapmeapp.com so we can get you up and running :)

### 1/5 — Too many bugs for $9/month

*2025-12-22*

This app is really promising but it simply doesn’t work well enough to justify the cost.

**Developer response:** Hey, I just dropped a new Update that fixes a ton of bugs. Can you see if it works better now? I'd love to fix all the bugs you encountered. Hit me up via Email (ferdinand@nandme.app) or on Discord and let's squash them together. :) Cheers, Ferdinand

### 3/5 — Amazing app, unfortunate pricing model

*2025-12-11*

I’m gonna start by saying this app is really promising for making maps on the go. And regardless I hope the developer keeps up the good work. One of my gripes at the moment is only subscription as an option. A lifetime license would be greatly appreciated (Even if at higher cost ofc). I’d most likely instantly buy it to be able to use this on the go but subscription models just are not something I like supporting. Genuinely a great job so far on this app though and keep it up ☺️

**Developer response:** Hey thanks so much! I just dropped a new update and the app should be much smoother now. Also there's some cool new features which make it much easier to make maps quickly. When it comes to the pricing model, I've actually thought about making a lifetime options. Hit me up on discord or via Mail (ferdinand@nandme.app) if you want and I can see if I can make that happen. Cheers, Ferdinand

### 1/5 — Paid for the Subscription, instantly regretted it

*2025-12-01*

Just to start off, I love the concept of this app, a dungeon draft-esq software I can use from my iPad is just what I’ve been looking for, but, this fell massively short. I already pay a monthly subscription on patreon for my map assets, so I didn’t mind spending 8.99 to try it out for a month. I’ve tried to make one room and it’s taken me hours, the pattern layer system is a mess, so any walls you add into rooms clip unless you go into the settings, make a new layer, put it under the old one and do it that way, but even then, the amount of layers become crazy when trying to do multiple floor patterns and wall pieces, etc. I saved my map once I’ve finally gotten the room layout finished, and when I went back into it there were these weird lines over the grid that I couldn’t get rid of. Surely they wouldn’t show up in the export, I thought; I was wrong. Now that room base is useless and I have to start all over if I want those lines to go away. Needless to say, but I hate it here, and I will be canceling my subscription. Update: I tried to make a duplicate of the map I was working on, hoping that would fix the issue with the lines, the duplicate button does not work, at all.

**Developer response:** Hey, so sorry you had such a terrible experience 😭 if you’re willing to, I’d love to hear in more detail what the issue was so we can see if I can fix it ASAP!

Hit me up at ferdinand.werner@mapmeapp.com and I’d love to see if I can fix it.

Again so sorry for the bad experience and hope I can get this sorted out for you :)

### 5/5 — Great platform with lots of room for growth

*2025-04-07*

Didn’t take more then 15 minutes to get used to the tools that offer good enough customization for creating detailed grid maps for D&D. Only issues I’ve had in my few hours using it were that the path layer was unable to be edited, so I was unable to add walls, doors, and cliffs, as well as I wish that along with the grid size there was a recommended size for printing out the map on paper. For example, a 20x25 map will fit on a 8x14 cardstock, and more comparisons later on. For my campaigns I always get my maps printed at my local print shop, so knowing how big to create my maps would be a great bit of knowledge to have. Other than these two things, I enjoyed the ease of placement and editing and the detail with all the placeable objects. I see this being a very successful resource, I’ve already subscribed and am excited to see what else will be added in the future!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for the kind words and inspiration! The bug with the walls is indeed very annoying and I have an update coming out in the next days that will fix it. Sorry for the inconvenience!

The sizing is a good point too! I will work on some features related to print prep soon. This might make the cut!
