The Mappa Mundi in Hereford Cathedral is the largest existing medieval map of the known world at the time. Drawn on a single sheet of vellum, it is 130 cm wide. It was created in about 1300 AD by Richard of Holdingham in Lincolnshire, England.

Shape shifting beasts?  The Minotaur’s labyrinth? A Norwegian monkey?  Cyclops, dragons, mermaids? Adam and Eve?  Lot’s wife? The Tower of Babel?  Find those and tons more, such as actual ancient cities, buildings, rivers, countries and continents.  A fascinating map where you can click on images or words and get a little pop up explaining what you are seeing.  An excellent and beautiful historical map to explore.
