### 3/5 — Design wird besser. Sound beste.

*2026-01-25*

Hello mDecks. Why is the stop button just 3mm of size ??? Still. Need 3 attempts to hit. Every time!

### 3/5 — Drives me bunker

*2026-01-04, version 10.8.3*

Drives me bunker, everytime I dont use this app for a while, I cant never remember how to close the bottom half that I dont want to see, its never intuitive, should be a no brainer…
Sounds great and all, but not very intuitive, the interface needs more work to be effortless.

### 4/5 — Mucho consumo de batería

*2025-09-16, version 10.8.3*

Sigue consumiendo batería aún estando en segundo plano

### 4/5 — A great tool but needs refinement

*2025-02-21*

This app feels like it’s directed at the jazz keyboardist and pianist. Somehow, I feel like the user interface could be made to be more intuitive. Navigation through the app is a bit complex. However, I like all the features that the app provides. I think more work needs to be done on the guitar fret board. The guitar resizing needs some work and needs more voicings for guitar. Overall it’s been a helpful tool for understanding harmony and composition. Thanks!!

### 2/5 — Crashes again

*2024-10-19*

Crashes when touching a chord on the map or the staff and when tapping play button. Works fine when touching the menus on the right side or else where. I’m running version 10 on iPad os 18

### 2/5 — Voicing Keyboard not working iOS

*2024-06-26, version 10.1.3*

Why is the voicing keyboard not showing the voicings during playback? Seems like such an easy thing to have work

### 2/5 — Buggy, crashes immediately on iPhone

*2024-06-01*

Love the concept but it crashes whenever I try to start playback. App has worked in the past (somewhat) on various devices but is pretty unreliable to the point that I find myself not using it. Please hire a UX designer and a coder for a little bit to fix your bugs and this would be such a great way to study harmony!

### 2/5 — Nette Funktionen aber Buggy

*2024-04-28*

### 2/5 — Could be cool….but

*2024-04-14*

I got the free Play-Along version of this app and liked it a bit more than IReal. I then paid $9.99 to download the 1300 song jazz catalog. It is for the most part a very comprehensive catalog. I then read on the app that if I bought the Pro version, I would keep all of my songs and be able to use them in the Pro version. This does not seem to be true, or it is not entirely evident how to get them to show up on the IOS version. I found this to be highly disappointing and am now considering this a waste of money! I really wanted to like this better, but the fact that I can’t access the songs that I ALREADY bought from them seems like wack. I emailed the contact information for the company and never received a response either. When I go to files on my IPad, there is no file under these two apps with songs in them???? Where are they? I could change my opinion on this I find out that there is a solution.

I also find the “information” dialogue box that pops up every time you touch practically anything on this app to be tiresome. Perhaps there is a way to make this blue box stop popping up? Also, for the most part, on the IPad, I just want to play some songs for practice and have them sound good. I appreciate that the app does some better stuff than IReal, but I don’t really see the benefit of the whole mapping visual display of the computer thinking etc. since it is really quite small and I am trying to play while the song is going along.

### 2/5 — it’s way too complicated

*2023-10-06*

It seems like you have created something incredible, but the UI is impossible to use. I have no idea how to use it, even after watching all of your YouTube tutorials. I even went to the manual on the site, but there is no information on how to use anything. I don’t know what any of the side buttons to on the UI, I’ve clicked every button, but I can’t seem to get rid of the song editor. The buttons don’t really do what I think they would do. I am overall, just very confused. It seems like a revolutionary idea though to have all chord progressions in one page, and it seems like you put in a lot of work into this. But I think not many people understand what this is… If the UI can be better explained, and if you can explain to beginners what this is, this would be much better. I know quite a bit of theory, but I still do not understand which is a shame. I really would like to understand it.

### 2/5 — PoorExecution

*2023-08-12*

This ought to be the killer of clunky-sounding old iReal Pro, but its poor design choices and ham-handed execution make it almost unusable.

I bought it to use on an iPhone, and on that platform at least, the UI elements are far too small and fiddly to use. Perhaps a fairer trial would involve a tablet or a laptop, but nowhere did I see a 'Not Suitable for iPhone' warning.

MTHP crashed several times in the course of ordinary use, losing the work I was attempting.

The existing library of tunes is partially pay-walled off, you cannot edit the ones that the platform does provide, and there is no reservoir of freely available ones to download. This kneecaps the app's usefulness. MTHP is a cathedral, when it ought to be a bazaar.

It certainly does a better job than iReal Pro of being a rhythm section — far better. And its scope and ambition is also far greater than iReal Pro's. I believe, however, that it’s as an alternative to iRP that most users will approach MTHP, and they will be frustrated by it. MTHP's developers must first make their app far more usable along those lines, and make its other capabilities secondary to that. Getting rid of its wrong-headed approach to repertoire/catalogue would be essential.

I gave MTHP two stars instead of one, only in recognition of what it's *trying* to do.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

*2026-01-20*

### 1/5 — Don’t bother

*2025-03-26, version 10.8.3*

This app is just awful. Incomprehensible graphs and charts that are impossible to follow. I’m sure someone put a lot of effort into this but it’s just counter intuitive and not worth the time to figure out.

### 1/5 — Extremely Buggy

*2024-12-05*

Extremely buggy. It’s impossible to edit songs within the app. Try changing chords and then hit “back” and nothing saves. When trying to alter the title or other properties and hitting save it saves it briefly and then reverts back or renames it to “Untitled.” On top of all that there are so many missing features and missing customizations. Want to turn off the lead-in bar of clicks? You’re out of luck. Want to add a melody line? Again, out of luck. Want to add ukulele chords or custom tunings? Once again, out of luck. For an app (and IAPs) that are so expensive, this really is a disappointing purchase.

### 1/5 — Insatisfecho

*2024-10-15, version 10.2.1*

### 1/5 — Verkopft

*2024-02-10*

und teuer

### 1/5 — Paid $15 so I could buy the rest of what’s advertised

*2024-01-23, version 9.7.8*

Don’t waist your money.

### 1/5 — Analyzer

*2023-12-01, version 9.7.8*

### 1/5 — Choc full of bugs

*2023-10-19*

*2023-08-03, version 9.5.5*

Problemas de interpretação de passagens harmônicas gerando análises equivocadas.
