### 4/5 — Like it

*2016-10-01*

Really liked it, it needs an update for iOS 10

### 4/5 — Good app

*2015-09-17*

Wish it had notifications, but it is a great app.

### 5/5 — All you need to know about Earthquakes

*2014-09-28, version 2.1*

This app enables you to see what is happening around the world and gives you all you could want, to be able to discover the impacts of tectonic movements.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2014-08-30*

One of my favorite apps

### 5/5 — I love this App!

*2014-07-31*

It's easy to get info. No complicated data. I recommend this app if you want to know quake info near you or far away.

### 4/5 — Useful app

*2014-07-12, version 2.0*

I really enjoy this app. Living in a earthquake area this keeps me updated right as a earthquake happens. Sometimes it lags but not much.

### 5/5 — UPDATE - FIXED, Works Fine, Author kept me informed

*2014-07-02, version 2.0*

"Maps suddenly stopped working after a couple of years OK." Now fixed.

I reported to author (Andrew) and he ID'd problem with service that he gets maps from. He said he would fix.
Now, a couple of weeks later, Andrew emails me to say he fixed. I re-installed and all is fine. How about that service!
I have experimented with a number of earthquake apps and find this the best, easiest to use, includes time since event.
For serious earthquake watchers, this is the one.

### 5/5 — Never knew there were so many earthquakes!

*2012-03-27, version 1.5.1*

I love this app. It never ceases to amaze me how many quakes there are in the world on any given day. What an absolute information gem.

### 5/5 — This is amazing

*2011-07-26, version 1.5.1*

Before I fall a sleep I look at this app for at least an hour. And the best part is, is that I got it free because I got it over a year ago!

### 5/5 — Use it every day!

*2011-03-17, version 1.4*

GREAT!

### 3/5 — Frustrating lack of features

*2011-01-03, version 1.3*

Update 1/2/11 its been over a year since I rated this app and since I see no improvements, I'm deleting it in favor of a much better app with useful push notifications.

<<>><><><<>><>>

I have been waiting for a program like this and willingly paid the price for this app, but the app comes only frustratingly close to being awesome. I hope to soon see at least the following improvements:
-ability to go from quake on list to quake's location on map
-pin drop on location of my choosing so I can gauge quakes within a range if that pound
-ability to search for "earthquake" + the location of the quake and date. Current search feature would only work for a major earthquake.
-much better map controls
-more earthquake info provided on the map. Rather than just intensity, show location, date, time, and distance from my drop-pin location.

I support the developers' work and urge them to keep at this, to improve it. I considered purchasing Quakeinfo but I'm holding out because I think this could be the best one if the developers take our suggetions seriously.

### 3/5 — More Map Please

*2010-07-11, version 0*

What would it take to have a map that didn't break up the Ring of Fire? Or better yet, a continously scrolling world map.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2010-06-22, version 0*

I got it free and now I see there charging. I like how you can view listed earthquake based on distance. I just don't like how it would look all jumbled up. I'll update this review once I restore the app on my phone.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — doesnt work on new ios

*2017-10-10*

needs updated to work on iOS 11 /iphone 8. most likely crashes upon opening due to new iOS being a 64bit platform???

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on iOS 11

*2017-09-30, version 2.1*

Used to work but now crashes immediately on start

### 1/5 — App

*2017-09-24, version 2.1*

Application isn’t working. It won’t load. Needs to be fixed. ASAP

### 1/5 — Pretty bad

*2016-03-20*

Had earthquake near me today. A real shaker. But this app does not know about it. I would like my money back.

### 1/5 — UPdate

*2012-05-30, version 1.5.1*

Can you please add an option to select push notifications within a certain radiuos? It would be nice to be able to send a "Did you feel that notice to the USGS". I think and lastly and most importantly the ability to post earthquake information via email or Facebook or Twitter.

### 1/5 — Waste of a dollar

*2010-09-13, version 0*

There are much better quake apps out there for free! No satellite view, needs more detail, color blobs are confusing, and I wish I could get a refund!

### 1/5 — Very disappointed!!!!

*2009-03-03, version 0*

Very disappointed with this application. I did not show an earthquake as reported by the BBC which was felt in part of England earlier this afternoon.

### 2/5 — Problems!!!!

*2010-04-29, version 0*

Just now went to check my Mappity Quakes app and I see that everything is blank as if there are no quakes happening anywhere on Earth, which I know is not possible. Don't know what's going on but I hope that it is fixed soon

### 2/5 — A good start

*2008-12-10, version 0*

So this is the best of what's available. A more mature app. But still it appears that no one knows how to sort columns...and the map screen updates too slowly for comfort.

It should cost $1 max at the moment.

### 3/5 — Ring of fire

*2011-03-01, version 1.3*

I really like this app. My only criticism is that most earthquakes occur around the ring of fire yet the edge of the map is in the middle of it. Surely it would be better to use an area that has much lower chance of quake to end the map.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Nice clear easy to see

*2018-03-01, version 2.2*

Like the mix of size and colour coding so u can see at a glance the strength and time it took place. Loads nicely and fast.
Great app

### 5/5 — Great site

*2017-11-06*

Thank you for newly the updated website. I had lots of problems with the old version. For a long time I couldn't information when touching the earthquake site.
Now the site is great again. There are more options of viewing and that makes easier for me. I only have one question. What happened to the Arctic? Antarctica is shown.

### 5/5 — Crashes upon startup

*2017-09-29*

The current version crashes upon start up on iOS 11.0 as well as 11.0.1

Don’t update your iOS if you want to continue using Mappity. Once your iOS is updated, there’s no going back.

Please update this app. Thanks.

### 5/5 — Love the app

*2017-08-05*

Just love this app

*2015-06-01*

I believe that I'm getting the most up to date information in this App.

### 5/5 — Mappity Quakes is Great!

*2015-01-25*

I have been using this app for years, ever since I got my first iPod (not the iPhone, the iPod). In all that time, this app has consistently delivered the earthquake information and mapping I wanted to track, and it is extremely easy to navigate. Thanks Mappity Quakes!!

### 5/5 — Faster than sound!

*2014-11-21, version 2.1*

Swift and precise information which I am absolutely appreciative for. Best programme I have ever come across! Thanks for your expertise .. PC

### 5/5 — Great resource

*2014-10-26*

This is my go to app anytime I feel the earth shaking. It's easy to use and always accurate. I don't know why it doesn't come on all devices
