I purchased this app in 2024 and it’s been great for what I do. 

Now the most recent update has disallowed me to record my hikes  unless I get the monthly paid subscription. 

Not cool, not appropriate. I’d rather have fewer maps etc. Will look for an alternative.

**Developer response:** We understand your frustration, especially after using Maps3D for several years.
The subscription is unfortunately necessary to cover the ongoing costs of the new map and server infrastructure behind Maps3D Neo. We decided not to simply remove features from the old app, but to build a new version that we can continue developing and maintaining long-term.
If you only use Maps3D occasionally, you may prefer our one-year pass without automatic renewal instead of a monthly subscription. It gives you access to all features for a full year without committing to a recurring payment.
We appreciate that this is a significant change, and we’re sorry that the new model no longer works for you.

### 2/5 — Schade - Qualität der neuen Version unzureichend

Diese App nutze ich seit vielen Jahren und habe sie für ihre Einfachheit (z.B. ohne Routing) geschätzt.
Diese Woche hat sie mich zum ersten Mal im Stich gelassen. Auf einer Mountainbiketour wollte ich einen GPX-Track öffnen und fahren. Hier wurde ich mit dem neuen Abomodell konfrontiert und konnte das unterwegs nicht lösen. Eine Vorwarnung wäre gut gewesen. Spontan musste ich auf eine andere App umsteigen.
Nach Abschluss des Probeabos bin ich auf mehrere Probleme gestoßen:
Einige Konfigurationen musste ich mühsam wieder herstellen.
Die Zoomsymbole (+ -) kann ich zwar einblenden sie haben aber keine Funktion. Das ist lästig während der Fahrt.
Den Positionscursor kann ich zwar konfigurieren er ändert sich aber nicht.
Die Pfeile für die Fahrtrichtung kann ich zwar in der Konfiguration aktivieren, sie erscheinen aber nicht in der Karte. Das ist für mich ein KO-Kriterium. 
Von den neuen Funktionen finde ich hilfreich dass jetzt mehrere Tracks parallel angezeigt werden können.
Wichtiger wäre mir aber, dass die alten Funktionen wieder laufen. So kann ich die App nur noch bedingt nutzen.

Knew I shouldn’t have updated one day after the new version came out!

Y a pas mieux ! Je m’en sers pour toutes mes sorties . Application fiable et remarquable dans son usage. Cette application m’a déjà sauvé la vie à l’occasion de mes longues randonnées dans les Alpes. Merci aux développeurs !

### 1/5 — Opérationnel sur routes seulement

Utilisé pour la 1ère fois aujourd’hui et avis mitigé… je l’ai utilisé pour un parcours en vtt et tant que j’étais sur route ( une départementale) tout allait bien, ensuite j’ai coupé à travers champs et là aussi pas de problème, j’étais bien balisé sur leurs cartes. Mais dès que j’ai voulu couper à travers des bois que je ne connaissais pas et que je savais raccourcir mon chemin, l’application ne m’a indiqué que des mauvaises directions. Resultat j’ai perdu plus d’une heure dans ces bois alors qu’ils étaient sensés raccourcir ma route totale. J’ai lâché l’affaire, me suis dirigé au soleil ( oui oui), ai pris des champs et un point en hauteur, à l’ancienne en gros. Je ne conseille pas pour les aficionados des sentiers perdus et cachés. Pour la route à la limite…

The 3D topographical map gives an excellent representation of actual terrain. Overlaying the roads into it, prove great for steep mountainous inclines or declines. Truckers, or large recreational vehicles, small moving trailer on passenger vehicles will find this App an excellent reference to plan for cross country trips. Other maps use satellite views which don’t really help. The plus is the viewable hiking trails.

When going in to settings, the button on the left, sometime the screen goes blank, then you have to press it several times before the setting dialog appears. This is very annoying

Je l’utilise depuis déjà qq années. 
Rien à dire sur son efficacité. Fait le job avec fiabilité. 

Mais que dire de l’ergonomie. A chaque fois que je ne l’ai pas utilisé depuis qq temps, je galère pour retrouver certaines fonctions. Pour avoir utiliser qq appli GPS, celle-ci a vraiment une ergonomie contre-intuitive je trouve. Dommage.
