## What is MapYourOTDR?

MapYourOTDR turns your iPhone or iPad into a full OTDR trace analyzer — read, interpret, and report on optical-fiber test data without the instrument's desktop software, and entirely offline.

Open a Telcordia SR-4731 (.sor) file from any OTDR and get an interactive trace you can pinch-zoom, pan, and measure. Drop two markers to read the distance, loss, and attenuation across any span — the way you would on the instrument itself.

WHAT IT DOES
- Decode and plot .sor traces with full acquisition parameters
- Automatic event classification — connectors, splices, gainers, ghosts, fiber end
- A/B two-marker measurement: distance, 2-point loss, and dB/km
- Link health score with a clear pass/fail verdict
- ORL, section attenuation, uniformity, and a full loss-budget breakdown
- Baseline comparison — overlay a commissioning trace and see exactly what changed
- Bidirectional true splice loss — pair both directions and average out the backscatter bias (ITU-T G.650.3 method), with gainers resolved
- Dual-wavelength macrobend detection — compare 1310 vs 1550 nm and flag bends that lose more at the longer wavelength
