## What is Marafit?

Marafit turns your own Apple Health running data into a full 16-week marathon
plan — and keeps adjusting it to what you actually run.

Most training apps hand you a template and ask you to fit into it. Marafit reads
your last 90 days of runs, works out your heart-rate zones, your easy pace, your
threshold pace and your current fitness, and builds the plan around those.

WHAT YOU GET FOR FREE

• A complete 16-week periodised plan — 3:1 build/down weeks, a 3-week taper,
every session placed on a real date
• Pick your own training days: long run day, quality day, and as many support
runs as you want (3 to 6 sessions a week)
• Personal heart-rate zones for every session, derived from your maximum and
resting heart rate via the Karvonen method
• Daily readiness score from HRV, resting heart rate and sleep, with the full
breakdown of how it was calculated
• Today's fitness, fatigue and form (CTL / ATL / TSB)
• Weekly score: planned versus actual, session by session
• Long-run comparison: heart-rate curve and time in each zone
• A realism check on your goal time, so you find out before week one rather than
  on race day

MARAFIT PRO

• Paces tuned to you — easy and threshold paces come from your own measured
efforts and VDOT, instead of being derived from your goal time
• A plan that follows you — miss a week or overshoot one, and the remaining
weeks are re-anchored to what you actually ran
• Fitness and fatigue trends over 90 days, not just today's numbers
• Deep run analysis — aerobic efficiency, heart-rate drift with warm-up removed,
heat stress from the temperature and humidity recorded during the run, plus
  running dynamics and elevation

HOW IT WORKS

Marafit reads runs, heart rate, HRV, resting heart rate, VO2 max, sleep and body
metrics from Apple Health. It never writes anything back. Every calculation runs
on your iPhone.

The training model follows established methods: Karvonen heart-rate reserve for
zones, Daniels VDOT for equivalent performances and threshold pace, Banister
TRIMP for training load, and the CTL / ATL / TSB fitness-fatigue model.

BEFORE YOU START

Marafit needs running history in Apple Health to build anything — record runs
with Apple Watch or the iPhone Workout app. If you have none yet, tap "Or
explore with demo data" on the first screen to load 13 weeks of sample runs and
see the whole app, then clear them in one tap.

Currently supports the full marathon (42.195 km). Half marathon is not included:
the periodisation, long-run progression and race-pace work are all calibrated
for the full distance, and offering a rescaled version would produce a plan that
looks usable but isn't.

iPhone only. There is no iCloud sync, so your data stays on the device you use.

PRIVACY

No account. No servers. No analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs. Your health
data never leaves your device — we have no way to receive it even if we wanted
to. Deleting the app deletes everything.

SUBSCRIPTION

Marafit Pro is available as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or a
one-time lifetime unlock. Eligible Apple IDs get a 7-day free trial on the yearly
plan. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before
the end of the current period; manage or cancel any time in your App Store
account settings. The lifetime option does not renew.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-09-23

· Compare heart-rate distribution (Pro) is now three views — Distribution, HR trend
and Efficiency — each with its own one-line takeaway and how-to-read note.
· New: how far each long run sat from your marathon-pace zone, drawn as a bar from
the edge of that zone. A bar pointing up means that run reached race effort.
· The box plot no longer draws the warm-up, so the vertical scale tightens and the
steady part of each run is easier to read. The share of the run below the whisker
is still reported in the details.
· Landscape: the chart fills the screen, and tapping a run opens its details on the right.
· The long-run list has a new "Latest long run" card you can tap through.
· The heart-rate curve for a single session now has a zone legend, and the target
heart-rate range is labelled in bpm.

Fixed: the average heart rate behind Aerobic efficiency didn't match the value shown
next to it; the bottom tab bar could disappear after rotating back to portrait; some
text-only cards were slightly narrow.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-03

HALF MARATHON

Marafit now builds half marathon plans as well: 12 weeks, calibrated separately
from the marathon rather than rescaled from it.

READINESS NO LONGER MAKES NUMBERS UP

Readiness is built from sleep, HRV and resting heart rate. Previously, when any
of those were missing, the app filled in assumed values and still showed a score
— so a phone with no health data at all would report "86 · Excellent". That
number was measuring nothing.
AFTER THE RACE

Marafit no longer stops at the finish line. There is now a post-race recovery
block: 3 weeks after a marathon, 2 after a half.
Find it under the Plan tab; it's free.

THE PLAN NOW COUNTS BACK FROM RACE DAY

Your race date used to be stored and displayed, but it never affected the
schedule: the plan always started from the current week, so it could finish
weeks before your race — or run past it, which meant the taper landed after the
race and you went to the start line at full volume.

Now the plan is anchored to race day: its last week is race week. If there
isn't time for the whole plan, you get the back end of it, taper intact, and the
form tells you which week you're starting from before you generate.

No race yet? Set Date to "None" and tell us which week you're on instead. That
gives you a training block with no race attached; you can set one later.

TODAY KNOWS WHAT DAY IT IS

The Today tab used to say "Rest day" for six different situations, including on
your race day and every single day after your race. It now distinguishes: no
plan yet, plan not started, rest day, race day, plan finished early, cycle
complete, and training block complete — with a way forward from each.

ARE YOUR LONG RUNS WORKING? (PRO)

The LSD tab now puts every long run of the last six months on one timeline, as
two charts sharing an x-axis.

On top, a box plot of each run's heart-rate distribution with your
marathon-pace heart rate marked across it: if the middle half of a run sits up
against marathon effort, that run was raced rather than run. Underneath, your
aerobic efficiency — how far you travel per heartbeat — run by run, and once you
have six of them, your recent runs compared against your earlier ones.

FIXED

• Adaptive re-planning no longer pushes your remaining weeks into the future.
If your plan had been running for a few weeks, re-planning moved every
remaining week back by exactly that many weeks and left the current week
empty — so the app showed "Rest day" for weeks on end.
• Recovery runs no longer lose points for being easy. Their pace band was the
same as an easy run's while their heart-rate target was lower, so running at
the prescribed heart rate meant falling outside the pace band — and the score
docked you for it. Heart rate is now the target and pace is only a ceiling,
shown as "6:15 or slower" rather than a range. Past recovery runs will score
  higher than they did.
• Goal times entered with seconds (H:MM:SS) were silently ignored when computing
target paces, which put every pace band in the plan out by a wide margin.
• The Plan form now previews your first week before you generate, so an
unrealistically low starting volume is visible up front.
