Grow and fish by the moon. Marama brings the New Zealand Māori lunar calendar (Maramataka) to your pocket—plan planting, harvesting, and fishing for the best days and nights of the month.

Browse the full 30-night lunar cycle with traditional night names (Tangaroa, Korekore, Whiro, and more). Each night has unique gardening and fishing guidance based on centuries of Māori knowledge from Te Papa and Te Ara sources.

Planting & Harvesting Guide
See at a glance which days are favourable for planting. Green = good for planting, orange = fair, grey = rest or avoid. Tap any date for detailed notes: when to plant kūmara, tubers, seed crops, or when to rest the soil. Includes crop-type guidance for above-ground crops, root vegetables, harvest, and pruning.

Fishing & Eeling Guide
Check fishing and eeling ratings for every day. Tangaroa nights (23–27) are among the best for fishing. Get suggested jobs—fish, eel trapping, crayfish, shellfish—based on the lunar phase. Choose your preferred NZ beach for tide predictions.
Matariki – Māori New Year

Learn the nine stars of Matariki (Ngā whetū o Matariki), each with its own meaning. Reflect, celebrate, and plan with prompts for remembrance (Pōhutukawa), gratitude, and intentions (Hiwa-i-te-Rangi). Store your notes privately on device.
