## What is Marathon Mode?

Marathon Mode is a run tracker built around one thing: your next race.

Set a goal: a 5K, 10K, half, marathon, or any distance. Pick a date, and
Marathon Mode shows how close your training is to getting you there. See the
miles you've run this week against your weekly target, your days to race day,
and a projected finish time based on your recent runs.

Every run captures more than numbers. Log distance, duration, and pace, then
tap how it felt and rate your effort from 1 to 10. Over time that turns into a
picture of your training load you can actually read.

RACE DAY
A race day used to arrive, pass, and leave the countdown running. Now the race
asks how it went. Save your finish time against the target you set, add a note
about the day, and keep it. Past races stay in Settings with their results.

AI COACHING
Get plain-language feedback on your training that reads your recent trends and
measures them against your goal: what's going well, the one thing to adjust,
and a concrete suggestion for next week. It runs entirely on your device.

APPLE HEALTH
Already track runs on your Apple Watch or another app? Marathon Mode imports
your running workouts from Apple Health automatically, so everything lives in
one place. It only ever reads. It never writes to Health.

TRENDS
Weekly mileage against your target, pace trending over time, and how effort
lines up with how you felt. All in clean, glanceable charts.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account to create. No ads. Your runs and goals sync privately over your own
iCloud to your other devices. The developer never sees your data.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-09-07

Four tabs became two. Home and History were showing the same runs twice, and Trends and Coach were two readings of the same numbers, so each pair is now one screen.

Races end. Until now a race day came and went and the countdown just kept running. When the day passes, the race asks how it went: your finish time, and a note if you want one. Past races keep their results in Settings.

A run you typed in can be corrected. Open it and change the distance, the duration or the date.

Delete anything and a small note offers it back for a few seconds. A run that came from Apple Health stays deleted, rather than reappearing on the next sync.

Your whole log can leave the phone as a spreadsheet, from Settings.

Smaller things: every control has its own feel, and there is a switch in Settings to turn that off. Distances type the way your region writes them. iCloud says what it is actually doing.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-06

The first update since Marathon Mode arrived.

Settings signs off from Chicago, where the app is made.

If Marathon Mode has been useful, it will ask once whether you would leave a rating. Once, after you write down a run, and never off the back of a Health sync. Ratings are how other runners find an app like this one. If you would rather not, dismissing it is the end of it.

Under the hood: a privacy manifest and a tidier build.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-27
