### 2/5 — Save Your Money

*2021-06-16, version 5.53*

The running coaches are a joke. If you ask them specific questions about training, your plan, or for feedback they just point out how the app works. There is no progressive feedback from them during the program.

The integration with apple health works sometimes, and tracking long runs from the app just crashes the app eventually.

### 2/5 — No real metric option - very US- centric

*2021-01-01*

Could be a good app but it’s all US measurement based - miles, Fahrenheit. For the rest of the world it’s a pain with weird measurements.

### 3/5 — Frustrated with subscription

*2020-08-19, version 5.49*

Each time I try to change my run plan, I am prompted to purchase a subscription. The last time this happened, I was charged three times. Apple refunded the duplicate charges, but I was frustrated it happened in the first place. It’s a decent app otherwise, but I’m frustrated enough to stop using it. It seems that you cannot even give feedback on the app if you don’t have subscription, which is why I’m leaving this here.

### 4/5 — Trained and ready to go...

*2020-04-24, version 5.49*

I made a commitment to run my first half marathon.
I didn’t know how to train myself to do so. The app gave me direction, and guided my training process. It is valuable to be able to communicate with Marathon Matt during the process, his knowledge and insight were very helpful.
The problems I’ve had... using the app and my music stream simultaneously, the music will occasionally cut off. A few times, during runs, the app would unknowingly pause.
My race was postponed tho I continued to train. Thus I’m running my half this wknd, alone. I appreciate having the app to accomplish this goal.

### 5/5 — Most accurate running app

*2020-03-14, version 5.47*

I’ve been using this app for years and I didn’t encounter crashes or glitches. It’s super reliable and the tracking info is accurate, making monitoring your running workouts easy.

### 5/5 — My favorite running app!

*2020-03-06, version 5.47*

There are big benefits to keeping a training log as you prepare for a race and SportMe app is great for tracking your runs. You can easily record your distance, pace, time and plenty more to stay on top of your training plan.

### 5/5 — Running again

*2020-02-10, version 5.47*

When I began running there were no apps. I had to plan my runs on the computer and I had a tracker I tied in my shoe to connect to my iPod. I researched running apps most have a lot of stuff I didn’t need but SportMe was the one that worked best for me. I love the plan it laid out for me. I love I can listen to my music. I love the prompts it gives (it works really well if you trust it and stop looking at your phone 100 times to see if it’s keeping track.) I had an issue with the music not playing while the app was running. I emailed Michael and let him know and he got back to me in a very timely manner and I fixed the issue and was back enjoying my run in no time. Customer service to me is very, very, very important and you will get that with this app.

### 5/5 — Elle’s review

*2020-01-26*

I love this app it is soooo good and organised it tells me when to go out and have a run and for me that is good cause I normally sit down all day and do nothing but no this app is really good I mean if u are one of those people then u are in luck cause this is the best app around u don’t need to pay I am going to do a really long run soon all the way round the whole of London so it will be even longer then before cause I don’t live in London but I live in a little village so it will be a little bit different for me but yeah that is the best selling app around I think xx

### 3/5 — Great concept

*2019-09-28, version 5.47*

If you do not plan to use a smart watch, then this is the app for you. I have had nothing but problems with the watch app, getting it to sync, it has even messed up my schedule so I wasn’t doing what I was supposed to. The trainer part is great and they respond sometimes quickly, sometimes 24 hours or so later. They keep working with me trying to figure out the watch issue but it’s so problematic. Not what I want for an $8.00 per month app.

### 5/5 — Marathon training gets easier

*2019-07-29, version 5.43*

SportMe has lots of details and features without being a cluttered app. It tracks speed, pace, distance, cadence, time, maximum heart rate, climb, interval stats, and splits. From your data, you can see your heart rate, altitude, cadence, etc. Great app for marathon training.

### 5/5 — Best app to map my run

*2019-06-12, version 5.39*

This app is great for mapping and tracking every run and for getting feedback and stats to improve your performance. The audio feedback on every GPS tracked run is my favorite part. Now I can track my runs with the Apple Watch and view my progress at a glance.

### 5/5 — All my calories and runs in one place

*2019-06-07, version 5.39*

My goal was to lose some
weight through running and this app helped me tremendously. It created a training plan specifically designed for my skills and schedule and it WORKED. It also tracks the calories burned and this is motivating!

### 5/5 — Great program and quick response

*2019-05-16, version 5.39*

Love this app. Using it to train for a marathon. When I had questions about various training methods, I was able to directly communicate with an expert who responded to my question within a few hours!

### 5/5 — A running app that WORKS

*2019-05-16, version 5.39*

It cover everything a runner would expect from a running app. When I had questions about running or even about nutrition, I got real-time feedback. It tracks my routes and tracks stats and goals.

### 5/5 — Good marathon training app

*2019-05-16, version 5.39*

This app us best in recording your pace, distance, total exercise time, calories burned and also comes with a variety of training plans, complete with reminders and live coaching. You can measure your progress and and workout history.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App and Website Completely Broken

*2022-09-25, version 5.54*

I’ve used this app off and on for years for training, but in the past few days the app and website seem to have been hacked or are completely broken. The app can’t save or sync runs appropriately anymore. And when I cleared the cache to try to help, a whole host of other issues appeared. You can’t log in with either Facebook (as it reports an error saying the app is not active) or the website (as it not only no longer has a valid certificate to ensure website security, but the website itself is very broken, with most links and buttons not working). This is extremely concerning from a security and privacy standpoint as a user.

### 1/5 — Waste of time!

*2021-07-31*

Apple watch doe not work

### 1/5 — Robbed

*2021-03-09*

I’ve paid for a subscription, set up a running plan, wouldn’t allow me as an error alert was popping up. Now everytime I try to open App it closes straight away???

### 1/5 — JUST SO YOU KNOW, IT’S NOT FREE!!

*2020-06-18, version 5.49*

This app is a subscription and you pay $7 dollars a month. You have to look in the description and read though it to see that it’s not free. Maybe that’s on me for not looking in the description, but I think they should put the cost next to the app icon which is what most other apps do. Also, I gave it only one stars only because I haven’t even used the app but I’m deleting it after writing this because I don’t want to pay. And from what I’ve heard from the other reviews, you have to log in every time you want to open up the app! And, I find it kinda weird how, in the Terms of Service, their is discoloration on the screen. The background of the text is discolored in some areas.

### 1/5 — Fraud and Theft

*2019-09-21, version 5.45*

I’ve been charged $7.99 month after month for this app. I don’t have a subscription. I tried messaging a “coach” via the app but without a subscription I can message. So, I’m paying for a subscription that I don’t want yet I don’t have the features a subscriber would have so why am I being charged $7.99? I’ve tried to “cancel” the subscription in my apps and via the website. Both say I do not have a subscription. I tried providing feedback using the feedback feature on the app. I’ve received no reply and I’m still being charged. This is fraud and stealing. I want my money back.

### 1/5 — Not FREE, app lures you in, then charges £6 a month!

*2019-04-28*

Not free, not clear.

### 1/5 — Overpriced

*2019-01-03*

It’s not free. Another one that looks like free but at the end of setting it up you find out you have to pay for it

### 1/5 — Misleading and overpriced.

*2018-10-07*

Downloaded the app, opened it up, spent 10 minutes faffing around answering questions. Get to the end and it says, your plan is ready.... 7.99 a month. Are you kidding me?! Tell me that BEFORE I answer all the questions. Better yet, put it in the app description. Complete waste of time. It might be worth something paid every month but it isn’t 7.99.

### 1/5 — Misleading

*2017-05-01*

Same as the other review, hooks you in and then charges £5.99 just to see a trading plan. Total waist of time.

**Developer response:** Sorry you felt misled. The first page when you load the app lays out the pricing model so that you don't waste time going through the questionnaire in case you don't want to pay. We'd love to provide a free experience, but we have live trainers who provide support. Thanks for giving us a shot and good luck with your training!

### 1/5 — Misleading and expensive

*2017-04-27*

Another app that you think is free but is not.
Also ludicrously expensive too if you do actually buy it

### 5/5 — Not working today

*2021-05-06, version 5.53*

### 5/5 — One of the most useful apps on my phone

*2020-06-02, version 5.49*

I depend on my phone when it comes to exercising. I double check my form, log my workouts, so practically my phone is a major part of my running routine. This app specifically helped me a lot. I can track all the relevant running data, I can get training plans depending on my upcoming races, I also get feedback from professional coaches. Great app, overall!

### 5/5 — Life changing | I hated running before SportMeTrainer

*2020-05-25, version 5.49*

I can’t say enough good things about this app. It’s like having a personal trainer in your pocket. You get personalized training plan adapted to your skills and schedule. You get expert coaching from real trainers. I used to hate running and now I look forward to it. Using this has replaced my having to go to HIIT classes and, the best thing, it helped me get faster and improve my pace, which feels great!

### 5/5 — Best running app out there

*2020-05-18, version 5.49*

So I’m an 26 year old runner who runs about 15 miles a week but sometimes more. SportMe Marathon Trainer really suited me. What I like best about this app is that it made it really easy to track exactly when I did the run and a lot of running metrics, such as pace, calories etc. there are no glitches with the app, so I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to any type of runner.

### 5/5 — Love their running plan!

*2020-04-13, version 5.49*

When you download the app, it will prompt you with a few questions related to your goals. Based on the goal you enter- run your first half marathon, get faster, build endurance and so on, SportMe will offer a customized training plan. You can use it both outdoors and on a treadmill if you’re stuck indoors.

### 5/5 — This app eased my journey to my half marathon

*2020-04-10, version 5.49*

It gives my time, distance, caloric output and speed as I run, and also it offers details such as pace or elevation. It’s based on GPS tracking and the simple, accessible history screen is also a nice touch.
