### 4/5 — Good Game, Needs A Little Improvement

*2024-06-14*

So I really like this game, I already finished all of the single player levels, and I want to play with Multiplayer, but sometimes it glitches me out, and I have to exit the game, then go back in, but then when I press Multiplayer, and then Quick Play, I keep seeing this message: Please Try Again Not Fully Connected (2), and it is EXTREMELY annoying. And every time that happens, I can’t play Multiplayer again until I restart my phone. And it’s not my phone, I have a good phone, it’s an IPhone 14 Pro Max, so I don’t know what the problem is. But it is EXTREMELY annoying. Please fix this.

### 4/5 — It’s good, but it could use a bit more work

*2022-09-17, version 1.4*

My main issue with this game is the difficulty. I’ve been stuck on the exact same level for THREE MONTHS. I wish there was an “easy mode” so that younger kids and people who have trouble completing levels would get their chances. Also I’m kind of annoyed because on the pause screen, it shows the name of the song that’s playing. What I wish I could do is connect my own playlist to the game so I could listen to my Pretty Cure music and play the game at the same time. Is it possible you could consider these ideas? Having these features may re-spark my interest in this game.

**Developer response:** Hello! We've added several updates to the game since your review! These include new marbles/hats/trails, multiplayer modes, and other game-wide improvements! If you give the game another roll, we'd love to hear your thoughts :) - Fletch

### 5/5 — How?

*2021-01-03, version 1.2*

When I downloaded the game for the first time a week ago, all the marbles and effects and accessories for my marble were unlocked. I’d just started my  Arcade subscription the same day and I never even heard of the game before let alone play it. I’m not complaining though it’s fun to be able to use all these textures and accessories from the start.

### 4/5 — Great game

*2020-12-13, version 1.2*

Fun so far however from the start, when I unlock a new marble, the image of the marble would stay frozen on the front and center of the screen for the remainder of my playing time, until I restart the game. Also, the touch control editing allows me to resize the analog touch pad but when I save my changes it takes the original size. Moving the location of the buttons seems to work fine.

### 5/5 — Marble blast ultra returns from the 360

*2020-10-14, version 1.2*

I knew from the moment I saw this game on the arcade that it was from the same minds that created the amazing “marble blast ultra” on the Xbox 360. Fantastic level design and fluid touch controls make this an exciting marble platformer that should be played by anyone that enjoyed this kind of game.

### 5/5 — This game is very addictive

*2020-10-03, version 1.2*

I have played this game for 2 months now and it is a game that I have played THE MOST on my phone. I really recommend it it has its moments where it will bug out occasionally and when that does happen the bugs are very fun and for some reason you wish they happened again. There is one problem though I have been doing the weekly challenges for the whole time I have been playing and the same weekly challenge is still there and I have not been getting rewards for compleat if those. But anyway this game is a must play for the people who like crazy games and stuff like that.

### 5/5 — Madness? This.. Is.. Mayhem!

*2020-09-26, version 1.2*

I’m enjoying it so far. It’s like playing a version of Marble Madness not tinted by rose colored glasses, where the marble goes where you want most of the time. So far, it’s my favorite of the racing/time-trial sort of games in the Arcade. Apparently, it’s much improved over a version I hadn’t gotten to because the Arcade threw so much at me at once. Definitely worth a try.

### 5/5 — This is my favorite game.

*2020-07-09, version 1.1.1*

It’s challenging and the marble’s controls feel like a real live marble. Although it takes a while to get used to the controls and speed of your marble it’s an awesome game! I can’t recommend this game enough you will never get sick of it. So many levels and cool online and private games to play with friends! Absolutely in love with this game. 5 stars for sure! The graphics in this game are stunning and pleasing to the eye, the soundtrack is upbeat and fun to play along to. I’m not a huge fan of games but I can make this one exception! You did absolutely perfect on the game no need for fixing or anything.
My name is Weird Red Sneaker and is like for you to join me on multiplayer mode! Super fun and addictive. I never wanna stop playing!

### 4/5 — Please fix keyboard controls!

*2020-06-03, version 1.1*

First of all, so excited to see an official Marble It Up game on iOS. Really good stuff. I know I’m in a very tiny minority when I say this, but I was hoping to play this on my iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard — there are keyboard controls (which is a great start!) but they don’t work reliably and feel pretty fidgety. For example, holding down W makes my marble go forward, but only for a few seconds. I’d love if this game tuned up its keyboard controls and added trackpad support for the camera!

### 3/5 — Was great before but new controls are horrible.

*2020-05-10, version 1.1*

I have really loved this app, but with the newest update, the touch controls are horrible. They are way too sensitive, even with sensitivity turned all the way down. This game had been a lot of fun, and I love that they are adding new states, but the controls are making it almost unplayable. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Love it, but a bit glitchy

*2020-03-03, version 1.0*

I remember my brother and I playing Marble Blast Gold together when we were super little, so of course this game made for INSTANT nostalgia. And it’s so fun! The levels have a lot of replayability, and getting to the secret skins is super frustrating but so satisfying when you finally get it.

Unfortunately, some skins and trails are completely unattainable. I don’t mean as in hard to get to in a level, I mean some unlock when you’ve played a certain number of multiplayer games or gotten a marble to a certain level. But neither of those features work! I’ve played several multiplayer games, and it hasn’t registered any of them. I’ve also completed almost all 60 levels on at least silver, and half on gold, but none of my marbles are a single level. Please fix this and make the game infinitely more enjoyable!

### 3/5 — Fun multiplayer but has too many bugs.

*2020-02-16, version 1.0*

I downloaded it to play with my kids. I’ve only played private multiplayer but it was rather difficult with all the bugs to get all four of us playing together. It wouldn’t let one person join randomly then it would show multiplayer grayed out and then active a moment later.

### 5/5 — Great game!

*2020-02-10, version 1.0*

I love this game! You can collect marbles. Play multiplayer and play levels. But... 1. Please make more levels. Because I love playing levels. 2. I was having trouble with the camera. It wouldn’t zoom out and it couldn’t turn. And I hope you fix that problem. 3. Multiplayer is fun but could you add more land to play in. More power ups to use and more modes to play. 4. And one more thing when you’re playing the MarbleItUp! It will kick you out of the game. And if you can’t do that please make a MarbleItUp! 2. Other wise it’s a really great game hope you make those changes. Can’t wait to see. Please respond. Bye👋

### 5/5 — I love this

*2020-02-10, version 1.0*

I love this game but I have some suggestions 1 maybe you could add more places on multiplayer 2 maybe you could add more levels 3 you have so cool marbles but I think you should add some more .i love this game and I hope whoever gets this game will enjoy!😻😘🥰😍

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Was fun until profile bug killed it for me

*2022-10-04, version 1.4*

I was enjoying this game a lot until I recently installed it on my iPad. It somehow downloaded someone else’s data, completing and unlocking everything (all marbles, accessories and 30+ achievements.) There is no way to reset the locked items or achievements, so my game is irreversibly ruined. Devs seem to have abandoned it and don’t respond to emails. I just want to start over at this point, but I can’t.

### 1/5 — A great concept with poor execution

*2020-11-23, version 1.2*

I hate this game’s camera and controls. They feel unfinished and unresponsive. When I use the camera controls, it often registers a jump because the buttons are so close together. The game is probably much better on a controller, but why should players be expected to shell out more for a console controller when they’re paying for a mobile game service? It’s a shame because when the game works, it’s very fun, but the frustration is too much to deal with.

Also, why does it take seven to ten seconds to fall? I know, I died. It doesn’t need to take ten seconds to get back to the checkpoint.

### 1/5 — No idea what initial launch dialog buttons do

*2019-12-10, version 1.0*

I heard about this game on a podcast and was excited to give it a try. I am astounded that Apple allowed this to be released as part of Apple Arcade with the horrible initial launch dialog that it has.

Upon first launch, before you can play the game, your are presented with a dialog box that has information that we have no way of knowing whAt it means without prior game experience. It talks about “replays, ranking, progression, and stats”. It goes on to say that it needs to collect data from us to provide these things and that if we don’t want our data collected we can still play but without certain features.

All of that would be annoying but fine. The problem is that I am presented with two options:

Ok
Offline

There is nothing in the paragraph that would indicate what either of these buttons does. I am protective of my data, and I thought Apple was too. So I am confused as to how this app made it not only through normal AppStore approval but is included as part of the small cadre of games that make up Apple Arcade.

I will not play this game if I have to click one of these undefined buttons in order to do so.

**Developer response:** Hi frank, sorry to hear about the confusion! The data collection prompts are consistent with (and even use language provided by) Apple's policies. To opt out those online services you accurately identified in your review, users can select the 'offline' option. Users have the option to opt back in if they choose to offline those features at launch, but we've made the assumption that users who agree with the text will be likely to hit 'Ok'. We appreciate the feedback - and if you choose to give the game a shot, we'd love to hear what you think of it. - Fletch

### 2/5 — Fun game but needs work

*2021-10-10, version 1.3*

This is a fun and easy game for kids and adults.
The problem I’m having is the glitches.
The second time I’m playing this game and it is stuck on the loading main screen. I can hear the game play, but it is stuck on the main Home Screen. After waiting for 10+minutes, and restarting the game several times, my kids and I have moved on. Please work on those glitches!

### 2/5 — Work on controls

*2021-02-27, version 1.2*

After 2 minutes my left thumb just sticks to the screen. I know that’s a silly thing, but it’s because the controller forces you to keep pressure on the screen in a single spot to keep momentum going. Also, the time it takes for respawn after falling off the board is really annoying. Could do without the 3,2,1 countdown after the first launch. It gets old.

It’s a fun concept and really well designed. Just feel like I’m always quitting out of frustration instead of satisfaction.

### 2/5 — Terrible controls in a beautiful setting

*2019-12-24, version 1.0*

The game looks great and is fun to casually play, but the touch controls are horrendous. For a casual run through, it’s manageable, but good trying to get diamond medal on a level when 1/3 of the time, your right thumb controls the camera, 1/3 of the time your left thumb controls the camera and the last third of the time, nothing controls the camera.

Oh and while you’re fighting the camera to get that diamond medal, you don’t even know what time you need to get anyway. The game does not tell you what time you need to beat, so you have no idea if you just need to cut one corner a little tighter to shave off a few milliseconds or if there’s actually a secret path to get to the finish 40 seconds faster (which I found out is a thing on at least one level so far).

It’s one of those things that you try to put up with for awhile because everything else about the game is enjoyable, but eventually you just give up on the game. Which is where I’m at now.

**Developer response:** Hello JBeanz09! We've added several updates to the game since your review! These include new marbles/hats/trails, multiplayer modes, and other game-wide improvements (especially control improvements)! If you give the game another roll, we'd love to hear your thoughts :) - Fletch

### 2/5 — Horrendous Touch Controls.

*2019-12-08, version 1.0*

The touch camera-controls are absolutely horrendous. 50% of the time, the staging on the right side of the screen does nothing to move the camera - the other 50% of the time, the left thumb stick that controls the ball ACTUALLY controls the camera... why on earth would you allow a drag on the left side of the screen to control the camera?? These are touch-control issues that plagued us in 2009... a decade later and this is what we get for subscribing to a “premium” service. Shame on you devs.

### 2/5 — Not ready for prime time

*2019-11-16, version 1.0*

Fun game, great graphics but seems like this was rushed to get in Apple Arcade. No problems with the crazy touch sensitivity and the balls flying off of ledges, I’m using the latest iPad Pro and there’s constant freezes and the camera adjustment controls just stop working in the middle of the level giving me no way to see what’s going around me. Makes the game unplayable and the entire experience frustrating. I’m done until the developer fixes this game. Not a good user experience.

### 3/5 — So epic but so trash at the same time

*2022-08-09, version 1.4*

In a marble mayhem sense I see a lack of mayhem like you can still see the resources that the developers initially used but all went downhill when Apple in kind off a mathematical sense flipped the switch as they say. But at the end of the day no matter how you look at it you have to see that even if your different your the same as in like in an overall sense in like the Nitro program. Anyways this game is so epic 😝😝😝

### 3/5 — This is a serious problem.

*2022-05-20, version 1.4*

I have played for at least 2 days and I already noticed an issue. Certain levels are near impossible to get Diamond on. The most recent one I noticed was Duality. I kept trying and to no avail. I was also about to mention Leaf In The Wind, but I did that already and got Diamond. Please make Duality easier or increase the Diamond time limit to 0:17.5 on Duality. I swear, trying to full Diamond may be more impossible than I thought. Also, Player-Made Hats, trails and skins when? Don’t get me wrong, but I love this game! Oh! One more thing: are you going to release this game on any other platforms? My recommendations are Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox.

Thanks for reading! My apologies if it’s long and have a wonderful day!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — a review from a seven year old fan!

*2023-08-28*

Marble It Up is very fun but a tiny bit glitchy, mostly glitchy in multi-player, but I can stand it, except when I lose my controls and I have to wait for the game to end. But that aside, it’s still a very fun game!
I love multi-player, zombies, surf’s up because of the ultimate escape mechanisms. And also, I love my controls and I never want to change them. I love the power ups: there is super speed, super jump, super size, feather falling, and pause time. In every level, there is a trophy that looks really cool: a transparent box with a green ball inside! All of these things make the game really challenging and a lot of fun!

### 5/5 — Great game, but how do I start over?

*2022-07-17, version 1.4*

I really loved playing through this game last year and wanted to start from scratch, but it seems to be impossible. I tried the “delete server data” option, I looked through my iCloud storage (no app listing for this app), and I totally deleted the app from my phone. All of my progress magically reappears whenever I reinstall it (and I don’t see an option to turn the server data back on, either).

### 5/5 — Game is great, but can I reset?

*2022-05-05, version 1.4*

Hey, I really love the game. It has amazing graphics and is very fun to play. It’s impressive what the designers have accomplished with the app. One slight problem, however. I am pretty much done with the game and I would like to retry it, like reset. I have not figured out a way to do that yet. Could you help please?

### 5/5 — The Greatest Remake Of A Great Game

*2022-01-16, version 1.4*

So, in case you don’t know, Fletch, I have been playing Mayhem for two months now, and here are all my accomplishments:

A sub 18 on Zeus’ Playing Grounds (yes 6th place not very good)
Top 5 on Ex Machina and Stayin’ Alive
All Diamond on 9/10 worlds

And I am very proud. Levels like Platinum Playground are the big gem arenas, which are definitely the most fun, and levels like Tangle are pain. (don’t make it easier or else)

And multiplayer, although a bit glitchy, is AMAZING fun. For example, Steal The Crown is so fun for me, I’m practically bouncing off the walls if I’m in Stadion!

Players like me (self-promotion!) are dedicated to IL speedruns.
And the base game (MarbleItUp) is also amazing.

You don’t need anymore updates to this game. It is already the best game in the marble genre.

Farewell,
-Minecrafter117_Z (sorry if my real name for App Store is different I made it a year ago haha)

P.S: Diamond timing Sun Spire was impossible. Somehow I got a 1:02. Proud of it.

### 5/5 — Awesome game 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

*2021-12-24, version 1.4*

This game has awesome graphics and is so fun and addictive, I have been playing since last year and it is awesome although I have one suggestion maybe it would be more fun if you could earn bonus levels faster because after a little while the levels get a little boring and it is more fun if you have new levels to play but other than that it is an awesome and addicting game! I LOVE ❤️ it! BTW how many bonus levels are there? (PLEASE ANSWER)

### 5/5 — Great marble sim with attractive visuals

*2021-10-16, version 1.4*

Really terrific game with lots of cool hidden items to find. Problem with game not loading when you’re logged into game center seems to be fixed. Looks great on apple tv. People who complain about the controls obviously can’t understand that marbles don’t behave like cars when you try to steer them. Publisher has actually done a very good job of capturing the feel of trying to “drive” a marble and given us some beautiful, challenging, and imaginative environments in which to do it.

### 5/5 — Hi

*2021-10-14, version 1.3*

So yesterday I wanted to play the game. So it would go to the loading screen but it didn’t load! I have never had this problem before. I tried everything i could think of! Please fix this. Have a good day 👋🏿

### 5/5 — Infinite Loading Screen bug

*2021-10-05, version 1.3*

I can’t get past the loading screen anymore. It just stays there and plays the menu music in the background. PLEASE fix, I really want to be able to play the game!!!

### 5/5 — Awesome but needs difficulty level option

*2021-01-30, version 1.2*

This game is amazing but it is SO HARD. I literally spent 30 minutes trying to pass 3 levels. The first level of land #4 is the worst. I spent like 12 minutes trying to pass it, but I finally did! On to Ricochet! This game is really fun and I wish you would make more levels like hyperloop. Hyperloop was SO FUN!!! 🤩🤩🤩
I give Hyperloop 5/5 stars!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The marbles that you can customize yourself as are so cool! So are the hats! (Even though I’m not to that point yet, they just look cool in the pictures!)
So overall I love this game and it really relates to Marble Madness (even though I’m only 10 and my mom thinks it relates) but I really think you should add a difficulty option. 🤩👍🏻🤜🏻🤛🏻
Bye! 👋🏻

### 5/5 — If Mario was a Marble☄️👍🏼👍🏼🤙🏼

*2021-01-26, version 1.2*

I don’t know why it feels like I am playing a Mario Bros. Game but it does so I’m sticking with that idea being the theme behind my review. Obviously I am loving this game and it is the mechanics that make me feel the nostalgia of playing on the first Nintendo system that came bundled with the Mario game and YES I am that old yet still playing video games like a champ. With the original controller on the Nintendo you had two buttons along with a directional pad. Press right on the pad and the A button to jump and hold the B button for a burst of speed. From there on your goal was to avoid obstacles and jump gaps before reaching the flag at the castle to end the level. MarbleItUp gives you the same type of play only on a larger and much more magical level of feeling free to go fast and just get caught up in the wonderful sights and sound of the game. Basically I love when you start playing a game that you have no idea what to expect and then get left with being unable to explain why the experience was so great. MarbleItUp is that game for me so hopefully that is enough of an explanation to convince others to play this game. Thank you to the developers that worked so hard in order to give me back a little bit of that excitement of being ten years old on a Friday night in my basement in front of my tv with a controller in my hands and no plans to sleep, just PLAY until the sun comes up and introduces the next morning...
