## What is Marca?

Marca locks the apps that eat your evenings until you have read.

Ten minutes with a book. That is the whole rule — read it, and Instagram, TikTok and the rest stay open until midnight. Miss it and they stay shut. No countdown and no clock-watching: read in the morning and the rest of your day is yours.

Underneath it is a very good book tracker, which is the point. The lock is only there to get you to the book.

READ FIRST (optional)
- Choose the apps that eat your evenings — Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Reddit
- Marca locks them until you've read today's goal — then they stay open until midnight
- One goal for everything: the same number your streak counts. Change it any time, free
- Need a minute? Two five-minute passes a day — and a pass opens only that one app, never the rest
- Strict Mode (Marca+) removes the passes entirely — reading is the only way through
- Marca never learns which apps you chose — Apple's Screen Time keeps that private
Skip it entirely and Marca is simply a beautiful, private book tracker.

BUILD THE HABIT
- A calm focus timer, not another feed — with a Live Activity on your Lock Screen
- A tiny daily goal: 10 minutes or 10 pages
- A forgiving streak with a free skip each week, so one busy day never ruins it
- Your reading month as a calendar of covers you can actually look at — and share

A LIBRARY THAT LASTS
- Add any book in seconds: search millions of titles, or scan the barcode
- Shelves for Wishlist, On Shelf, Reading, Finished and Set Aside
- Ratings, progress, notes — the record of everything you've read

KEEP WHAT YOU LEARN
- Capture the lines worth keeping, on the page you found them
- Come back to finished books and the highlights that stayed with you

SEE YOURSELF CHANGE
- Minutes read, pages, streaks, reading pace and genre maps
- How many days reading opened your apps, and how much you actually read
- Home Screen widgets, and shareable cards for every finish

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Your reading life stays on your device. No account required. No feed. No ads. Ever.

MARCA+

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 2.0.0 — 2026-09-30

Marca 2.0 — read more, scroll less.

Marca has always tracked your books. Now it can help you get to them.

READ FIRST
Choose the apps that eat your evenings — Instagram, TikTok, whatever it is for you. They stay locked until you've read today's goal, then stay open until midnight. No countdown, so reading in the morning pays off all day.

There's one reading goal now — the same number your streak counts — and it's free to change. Need a minute before you've read? Two five-minute passes a day — and a pass opens only the app you tapped, not everything you locked. Strict Mode (Marca+) removes them. Built on Apple's Screen Time, so Marca never learns which apps you picked. Entirely optional.

YOUR STREAK, OPENED OUT
Tap the flame on the home screen for your reading month as a calendar of covers — and a card worth sharing.

ALSO NEW
- A calmer home screen, with your book front and centre
- Two new Marca+ themes: Nocturne and Almanac
- Read First stats and three new achievements
- Now in French, German and Spanish

Read more. Keep every book.
