This app is generally very good, but one issue has been annoying me since I started using it. Namely, if I’m reading an epub file, whenever I exit the document and then re-enter the document, or sometimes the screen is turned off for a while and I resume reading, I always jump to the very beginning of the section I was reading. I have to scroll all the way back to where I was up to. If the section I was reading happens to be long, it actually takes a while for me to relocate where I was. This issue doesn’t occur to some other e-book reader apps, like Apple Books. I hope the developer can fix this issue in the future.

Updated: a new bug identified. When I resume reading a pdf file, I am often redirected to the part I last wrote down some notes. That is, my last note always jumps out as the first thing I see whenever I reopen a pdf file, regardless of how much pages have passed between that last note and my current reading progress.

I love this app for note taking and because of that I bought the lifetime version. The app works really well. However, It’s an app on the iPad. And the reason I use an iPad is because its mobile so I take it everywhere with me. This means I frequently am without any sort of internet. And unfortunately, even if you’ve purchased the full app if you try to open it while offline it needs to check a server somewhere to make sure the app was purchased. If it can’t connect to those servers it will lock you within two days. I really want to rate this app well, but its inability to server users offline is really inconvenient, and its requirement to connect to a server makes the “Lifetime Purchase” option to seem a little misleading. If they go out of business or if the servers go down the app will just brick. Keep this in mind before purchasing.

My MacBook & iPad, though fairly new, have give me nonstop issues ever since getting them & I am so sick & tired of it, so I have switched to using a Microsoft Surface Pro instead. I have invested a lot of money into MarginNote though & would be the happiest person alive if you made MarginNote compatible with Windows. Please please please consider!!!!!

Every few months I always come back to this app because it’s such a neat idea. But for some reason I can literally never make it work in practice. Right now I have to go through several giant big PDFs for studying, and so I wanted to use this app to accomplish that and signed up for the OCR function. To my dismay, I have discovered that this feature is beyond unusable. Skips over / doesn’t recognize 2/3 of the words I am trying to highlight on one line, jumps three lines down to the middle and then highlights through the rest of that line. And then even the pieces of text it recognized, I get wild nonsensical strings of text that resemble an alien attempting to mimic English. maybe the PDFs I am trying to work with just have some mysterious property that baffles computers, I have no idea. but I do have some other much simpler OCR text snipping apps on my computer that are usually able to recognize the text successfully. So I am bummed and because I wish this app could be my go to. I will paste some examples below in case it is relevant to the developers. ;

The app has some bugs and imperfections, and it feels somewhat outdated. I haven’t seen a significant update in a while (Margin Note 4 doesn’t really count as a major update in my opinion). However, given the recent changes to Notability and GoodNotes, I believe it’s better this way. At the moment, there aren’t better alternatives available, and despite not being perfectly optimized, it works well enough.

You just need patience to understand using it! As u, use the app more u will understand how to add and to branch your concepts!!!

At my initial download (a year ago), I dont understand it, so I uninstalled it, but now! I can almost fully understand, how it works 😍!

All u need is to just open the source file, then highlight, then this app will automatically add the highlighted words into branches 😍. U just need time to familiarize this material, but really powerful! Thanks! I already availed the premium
