After a while, it wouldn’t let me view anything without purchasing again (twice) so I just gave up on it. Yesterday my son got his first ship, so I figured I’d download it again to see where he’s going. I chose the pro version, but the only thing I can see on the map is where his vessel is. I can’t see the vessel details or port calls. I can’t see the weather forecast and it doesn’t seem like there is a menu for me to do so. When I log onto the website. It’s telling me I need to upgrade. How much more can I upgrade from pro? ### 3/5 — Needs work *2026-08-22, version 5.8.3* Formerly was the best app available. Now good if you pay for pro plan. But, you frequently get kicked out of pro plan and must login again. Super pain when you have it running on multiple devices. Please fix this issue before you waste more time on augmented reality. The new look is not an improvement in my opinion. But I can’t even use the app to search a vessel because it crashes every time. The developers must know about this. It’s brutal Update: They apparently did an update to this abomination but I see no difference. This original MarineTraffic update has made the app so much worse. It’s slow, I lost all my fleets, and there’s almost no customization anymore. The old app let you quickly scan the map and spot ships with key info instantly. That usability is gone. Such a shame. Especially when I’m by the ocean and see something interesting, it’s really satisfying for me to find out what It is and all the other details. (I don’t have any complaints by the way.) However having paid £29.99 l could see the ships on a nautical chart but only for a few weeks. I’m now back to a simple plan and the app is directing me to pay again to get Mobile Pro Plan. Having already paid, as shown in apple account, I’m not paying again to get the Nautical Chart showing. We have two paid plans in the household and used to be regular app users. I suspect whoever was behind the major app update has never set foot on a boat. For now we’re managing with the desktop version, but if that gets ruined as well it’ll be time to turn off our AIS station and move our investment elsewhere.
