## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2019-10-26*

Very terrible app

**Developer response:** Please do get in touch with detail as to how you think the app could be improved. Feedback on how I can improve the app to better meet a users needs is always gratefully received.

### 3/5 — Good for small tables only

*2024-08-22*

This app is good for small tables. What it does, it seems to do well. However, it is NOT good for larger tables as the text doesn't wrap in the cell and carriage returns are not allowed in a cell. Also, you can apparently only have one table at a time & no saved tables. Please fix these issues. Thanks.

### 4/5 — I wish you can go back and see old tables

*2021-02-20*

Options to change colors etc

### 4/5 — Import from Clipboard could be better

*2019-10-24*

The app expects Markdown from the clipboard, but that limits the functionality to editing your own Markdown as the source. It’s quite common to copy from spreadsheets or other table sources. It would be great if non-Markdown sources could be pasted in.

**Developer response:** You can paste tables copied from web pages, and from some apps such as Excel. If you have any sources you would like to see supported please get in touch.

### 5/5 — Reliable for HTML and markdown export

*2020-07-15*

The HTML is compatible with Ulysses.

The only thing I would suggest for future versions is a setting to support more ways different markdown apps expect the code between the header row and the next row. For example, iA Writer expects a “:” before dashes.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review! There will be an update in the next few days which has a new option to always include an explicit left align ":" before dashes (will be turned on by default but can be disabled in the settings). Look at for 1.4 later this week.

### 5/5 — I miss trunk notes.

*2020-05-18*

This app saves so much time. Helpful to say the least.

### 5/5 — LOVE THE APP

SLEEK AND WELL MADE

### 5/5 — Excellent App for Creating Markdown Tables

*2019-10-31*

I usually rely on Tableflip to make more complex Markdown tables. But this requires a Mac. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this app allows me to cut and paste from a numbers spreadsheet. This makes making a table much easier.

### 5/5 — Very responsive developer!

*2019-10-17*

This is a very helpful utility for markdown writers. There is definitely room for refinement, but development is progressing quickly and the developer is incredibly responsive

### 5/5 — Helpful app

*2019-10-07*

This is a helpful little app for creating tables for Markdown apps. You can create tables or paste them in from, say, a spreadsheet. Export to the clipboard to put them in your Markdown editor.

The app does a nice job of adding white space to make the table line up nicely in the Markdown. Of course, this doesn’t change the final output of the document at all, but it does make the “raw” Markdown look better and easier to work with.

### 5/5 — Small and beautifully formed

A superb time saver if you thought adding tables to your Markdown documents was just too much hard work. It's simple and it works.
I copied an MS Excel spreadsheet a1:m42 (13 x 42) (I know, who uses a table that big in a Markdown document, I just wanted to see if I could.)
It contained, text, numbers, web links, alphanumeric serial numbers, email addresses, dates and currency.
I imported and successfully previewed in 1Writer, iWriter Pro, Notes Writer Pro and TextEdit+, including functional website and email addresses.

It didn't work in Ulysses or Bear due to limitations in those apps with tables.
It worked to screen width with Editorial, so it may be ok for smaller tables.
It also worked well in all the above apps with a smaller table containing a similar mix of data from Microsoft Word for iPad and just as well with a table from Pages.
I found the first row needs to contain the number of columns in the table. i.e. No merged header column.
I found it useful to click and identify the header row.
If there are blank cells in the table, add a character (I used a hyphen) before you paste the table into Markdown Tables. Delete the character in Markdown Tables before exporting it to the clipboard.
If a coulmn is aligned right, left or centre in the table this formatting is not transferred into Markdown Tables. Don't worry, there's a button for that. Amazing!

**Developer response:** Thanks for your detailed feedback. I haven't tried with Excel, excited to hear that it works. My intention is to add Siri Shortcut support relatively soon and that should enable some helpful workflows with tools such as Excel.
