## What is Markeep?

A bookmark for the real world.

You spot something interesting on the road — a company, a restaurant, a beautiful place — but you can't stop. With one tap on "Save this place", Markeep captures where you are, what time it is and which direction you're heading, and you speak a short description. The place is saved the moment you tap — no matter what happens next.

Markeep then searches for places around that position and shows up to three likely candidates — ranked by a transparent algorithm that runs entirely on your device, with a clear explanation for every candidate. You tap the one it was.

• One button, hands-free: recording stops automatically on silence
• Saved instantly: nothing is lost, even if the app gets interrupted
• Top-3 candidates with reasons: distance, name, category and heading
• Addresses in your timeline instead of coordinates
• Start via Siri, the Action button or CarPlay: "Save this place"
• Everything stays on your device — no account, no cloud, no tracking
• Your location is read only at the moment you save

Markeep is for the moment you can't stop — figuring it out comes later.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1 — 2026-08-31

• Markeep now speaks English — interface, speech recognition and candidate ranking follow your iPhone's language.
• Why did this catch your eye? Add it after your drive — if you want to; Markeep can remind you once after a CarPlay trip.
• Share for research: Markeep composes the right question and shares it with the AI app you already use. Paste the answer back as your own note.
• Search your places — including your own whys and notes.
• CarPlay: a "Done" button to finish the recording yourself.
• More reliable: your saved places migrate automatically and losslessly on update, and are never erased.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-12
