I liked the old one, and version 2.0 is even better. I really like the new feature of having Marquee display 'what's playing' on my iphone - it's convenient to be able to see the song/artist/album. When my iphone is docked, and playing music, pre-Marquee I had to go over to the phone to see what was playing. Now I can find out from across the room. My 5-year old child is another one who really likes Marquee. She likes creating words, adding smiley faces and rainbow text, and watching it play. She used to go straight to the drawing and game apps on my iphone, but for now, Marquee is her favorite. I like that she's having fun with words and letters. It's well worth the $1.99 price! ### 5/5 — Awesome App *2010-03-29, version 0* This is the best App I've ever paid for, I used this to ask out my girlfriend from across the gym at her cheerleading competition as she could read it and so could alot of other people. Lets you get your message accross very easily! I have used it to get a waitess' attention from accross a room. I have also used it to tell the guy in front of me what I thought about him cutting me off (reverse text makes it easy to see in his rearview mirror). This app is easy to understand and use, and all of the numerous upgrades have made it better and better. ### 5/5 — The BEST hotel clock in the world !!! *2009-12-03, version 0* Marquee's ability to scroll huge characters let's me see the time from anywhere in the room. Without this scrolling feature, other clock apps are limited by the tiny iPhone screen size. With my aging eyes, they are impossible to see. This app is easy enough, but I don't want to have to guess when I buy an app. The app should open up on home page or a start menu. It shouldn't open up on preprogrammed messages. The messages give the app a used feel. If you want to display what the app can do there should be examples in the instructions. It's fun, but could be fantastic. ### 3/5 — Buggy *2010-05-15, version 0* Very buggy. Would scroll part of messages, less than 10 characters. Also.. Program crashed and I lost saved messages. It has potential, but useless if bugs persist. Should be $0.99, not $1.99. (really should be free till the bugs get fixed) On the good side: various color options, adjustable scroll speed, a few scroll styles, different font options. Easy to edit and keep messages organized. Option to insert picture, date, & time. That's it for now. I'll update the rating depending if it gets tweaked. John bells ### 4/5 — The most versatile "scrolling banner" app! *2013-01-07, version 3.0* I have three banner apps and I took a chance on this one. Glad I did....it's great! Almost perfect. I wish the app ( in static mode) could display more than one line of text. It displays a killer digital clock and images! The available emoji are limited as well as the fonts but I'm sure they both could be included in an update or (yikes!) an in-app purchase option. This app is one of the few apps that is actually worth the asking price. ### 4/5 — Tried the rest bought the best. *2010-09-14, version 0* I would rate five stars if I could set global values or styles. Ive tried 6-7 different types of moving banner apps they aren't 10% of this one. Get the paid one but get all yer "cheap" friends to get the free on at least. The ability to send a banner is priceless. (yer cheap friends can figure out they can keep emailed copies vs the payed version) The samples run waaay to fast so aren't good examples. When set up properly the visibility is stunning. I have two sets of pre written scripts for night time vs daytime for many typical driving around items. • check tire: left rear low • lights out: left tail light Yellow back black text most visible for day Opposite doe night. My settings got lost in a resent phone upgrade so I hope I can find a utility to recover from my old backup! (it would be very useful to have a "real" backup since iTunes backup is worthless. -awr ### 4/5 — Great app!!! *2010-09-10, version 0* This is amazing. Now I can tell all those fools texting while driving to get off their phones! Well maybe not. They'll probably get into an accident just reading my message. The possibilities are endless. Sitting on the counter at a sandwich shop, you can scroll messages instead of writing messages out like every other shop does. Now I have something they don't. And I must say I'm satisfied with this purchase. Nice smooth-scrolling graphics and text, tons of emoticons and options for the text, big visible text to see from a distance. I have a Chicago wedding band called The Connexion and have used this app as a tool every weekend for around the last 8 years or so.. (it was a long time ago). I use this Marquee app to communicate to my band members on what song is coming up next. while they are performing. Most of the time at our shows, we can't follow our pre-made set list and need to change up the songs selections to keep the dance floor packed. Before this app, I had to use hand signals or walk to each member and yell to them what song is next. I have tried all of the other apps similar to this Marquee app, but they are just stupid. They seemed to be designed for little kids and can't match up to the Marquee app. I store over 400 song title/names to call up in this app too. If you need a simple and easy to use tool to communicate to someone (without talking), this is the app to use - hands down!! ### 5/5 — It has always been the best! *2017-04-20, version 4.0* There have been so many times I have used it from finding people in large groups to using it in business as a table banner. Also..PLEASE make this for ROKU !!!!! It will be the Best app o its kind. And I will totally pay for this app and tell all my friends to pay for it...or myself will buy it for them.
