The pumpkin soufflé is definitely on my list. That being said, the app would feel more inclusive with listed recipes underneath the episodes. I rewatch those now and use some recipes that have not used in a long time and some crafting ideas that I haven’t done for years and now enjoy again. With Martha Stewart, you never stop learning from her. She was always the most excellent guide and the most excellent teacher. I have just never stopped learning from her. From every day things, gardening, recipes, food, information, tips instructions crafting. From holidays to every day things. This is very limited selection of episodes. ### 1/5 — Never updated, poorly organized *2024-10-07* I love Martha’s shows and this app does have most of them (a fair amount are missing and don’t know why). I’d be 100% fine with the missing episodes IF the rest of it was organized better. When I first got the app a few years ago, they had different playlists by topic at the top with all the seasons below. They stopped updating those long ago…it’s been featuring Easter episodes for over a year now. Most streaming apps have some pretty basic organization that they share. At the very least, they are organized by season and episode and easy to move around. It seems that Martha Stewart’s team doesn’t care about the user interface or experience. It seems like they only care about collecting the money. I’m torn because I want access to all the episodes, but if they aren’t even going to organize it better or update the app, why should I bother? If you have Prime Video, you can watch the Martha channel. They do repeat many episodes, but it comes with your prime subscription. I don’t think I’ll be renewing my subscription when it expires…makes me sad. I love Martha Stewart, but this is beyond disappointing. It’s like taking advantage of her following. ### 2/5 — REALLY want to love, but not functional or organized *2019-01-11* Don’t get me wrong - I will probably keep subscribing because I adore Martha. Unfortunately, however, the app does not appear to feature any shows other than MS Living (contrary to ads indicating that her newest baking series would also all be streamable on the app) and is fundamentally disorganized: the episodes do not feature descriptions and are not arranged chronologically. A large number of the “videos” for streaming are segments from the other shows on the app. Finally, the promotion code promised 50% off for the first three months of subscribing and when I created an account, it advised that the code only gave me 15% off. Creating a watch list is difficult bc you have to first find the video you’d like to add to your list via thumbnail and no description (episodes are labeled with season and episode number, but to find descriptions you must go into the episode), then you can view bullet points of the episodes content and add to list. An annoying feature in the app is that once you click into an episode it starts playing automatically. I’d like to be able to add content to my list from the Home Screen by long pressing on the thumbnail. ### 3/5 — Love access to old MSL, but needs better formatting *2024-01-14* LOVE the access to all of the original MSL episodes, but the way the app is set up is not Martha Stewart standards. Messy categorizing, can’t look up or save shows by actual episode, but rather some digital version of the episodes that gets confusing. A lot of mixed up themes where you can’t find what you’re looking for by category. What really makes these shows stand out is the absence of constant chatter. In scenes where Martha is doing things by herself, it’s refreshing to just have moments of silence while she works. No music, no sound effects, no constant banter with guests. The old theme music is so nostalgic tool. Too bad these weren’t shot on film or HD video because fine detail is lost in the old standard. Delightfully free of commercials and other distractions.
