### 3/5 — Great customisation, but unreliable

*2026-07-12, version 10.1.1*

I bought Marvis many years ago and keep coming back to try it, because I love how you can customize everything, and there are so many useful filters, etc, which I'd love to use with Apple Music.

But it is so often unreliable. At the moment, for example, it just can't play any music. I have no idea why. I tap into a playlist, select a song... and it won't play. Regardless of which player is selected. Maybe the answer is to delete it and reinstall, but I just don't want to live my life constantly doing that, with what should be a straightforward music app.

### 2/5 — Near-perfect music app, with one horrible defect

*2026-07-07, version 10.1.1*

Interface: perfect. Customization options: terrific. This is the only music app I would ever need... but for one infuriating problem.

For some reason, the app continually shifts to displaying ONLY downloaded music, rather than my full music library. I can't tell if this happens whenever the app silently updates, or if there's some godforsaken multitouch trigger that I'm activating without knowing it, but the bulk of my library suddenly vanishes. Search breaks. All music views break. What's more, toggling that setting back requires me to leap through 3-4 finicky and obscure menu screens, in addition to closing whatever series of contextual views I have open.

This might sound small, but it's enough of a pain—and happens frequently enough—that I still keep Apple's default music app on my lock screen, even though it's inferior to Marvis in every other way. This bug is just that bad. Bad enough that it can genuinely kill an otherwise good mood.

When Marvis works as it ought to, it's terrific. But I cannot in good conscience recommend it to others.

### 2/5 — Great when it works, and a UI nightmare when it doesn’t

*2026-07-06, version 10.1.1*

Marvis Pro is arguably one of the most powerful and visually stunning media overlays available, but its hyper-customized architecture is increasingly a double-edged sword. It is designed to solve the UI/UX shortcomings of the native Apple Music app, yet it frequently introduces highly frustrating interface bugs of its own.

Most recently, the app’s heavy reliance on custom long-press and drag gestures seems to conflict deeply with standard iOS text selection wrappers. When trying to use basic text drag-and-drop tools or standard selection anchors within modals or share sheets triggered inside Marvis, the interface repeatedly hijacks the touch coordinates. It drops inputs after a few characters, completely breaking basic copy-paste and text management functionality.

There is also no repeat one, all, or none functionality.

The core irony is that when you run into a UI issue and attempt to report or share it, the app's own interface bugs prevent you from executing the basic text actions needed to do so efficiently.
While the level of customization is unparalleled, an app meant to streamline the music-listening experience shouldn't require this much friction or a screen nightmare just to handle basic tasks.

### 5/5 — Superbe application

*2026-06-25, version 10.1.1*

### 5/5 — Indispensable

*2026-06-13, version 10.1.1*

Indispensable pour le scrobbling

### 2/5 — Crashes constantly

*2026-06-10, version 10.1.1*

This app used to be much better than the state it is in lately. Now it’s a toss up on if it crashes or not.

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2026-06-09, version 10.1.1*

Best of the best music app!

### 5/5 — LastFM Scrobbling is back

*2026-05-23, version 10.1.1*

I’ve used Apple Music for years, but always missed being able to send my recent plays over to Last.fm to be recorded for posterity.

Marvis Pro acts as a front-end to Apple Music, but has the added benefit of being able to scrobble as you go.

Please add Mac support, as it would be a game-changer.

### 5/5 — Superpoteri per Apple Music!!

*2026-05-22, version 10.1.1*

### 5/5 — Stop feuding with the music app

*2026-05-16, version 10.1.1*

Marvis Pro is twice as good as Apple Music should be. I only wish I could pay again for a version dedicated to listening to the music library I own via mp3.

### 5/5 — Wow

*2026-05-05, version 10.1.1*

Amazing well thought out app. Interacting with my Apple Music account is a joy now. Love customizing everything and I feel like I haven’t even scratched the surface yet.

### 5/5 — The best app ever

*2026-05-03, version 10.1.1*

Genuinely the best app ever if you’re serious about how your music is organised. You can customise every aspect of your music layout and make it look and act exactly as you like it. It also has the best scrobbler if you’re interested in music stats. Amazing work by the developer.

### 5/5 — Super app !

*2026-04-29, version 10.1.1*

### 4/5 — Brilliant but needs iCloud sync

*2026-04-24, version 10.1.1*

Brilliant app, literally changed the way I listen to music with all its options around smart playlists and rules. UI customization is endless. Desperately needs iCloud sync for settings / rules / etc. across devices though - right now it’s a manual process you have to remember to do (manual export/import).

### 5/5 — This IS the app you’re looking for!

*2026-04-15, version 10.1.1*

I have used Marvis Pro as my default music player for years, but recently, I had an urge to listen to the least played albums in my local music library. This sent me on a mission to evaluate apps that were purpose built for this use case, but for various reasons, they all fell short. Then I had the “brilliant” idea to check if Marvis Pro could do what I wanted. Doh!! Of course it can, and it was easy to set up, too!
There’s no need to look elsewhere — this IS the app you’re looking for!!

### 5/5 — The best - no Algo

*2026-04-02, version 10.1.1*

The music apps now a days are using shuffling Algos for some mysterious reason, maybe the artists are paying them to play their songs more, not sure. They are not true shuffle nor do they have that option. Marvis is the ONLY true shuffle app if your playlist is huge. Regarding organizing songs Marvis kicks it into 10th gear compared to Apple (which is actually pretty good). The guy who developed this app deserves a lot of credit considering he’s developing stuff a giant corp like Apple can’t be bothered with. He could single handily add thousands of subscribers to Apple Music with Marvis, Spotify better hope this app doesn’t go viral. I mean- they have the same information he’s getting from them but not using it. Not sure if Apple developers are lazy or just stupid in this department. As far as Spotify is concerned I don’t understand why you would build a playlist, it’s more of a radio station pretending to be a library, no organization capabity what so ever. For people that don’t like a bit of organization I guess this app would not be necessary.

### 5/5 — Music

*2026-03-26, version 10.1.1*

The best music app

### 5/5 — Change my life

*2026-03-21, version 10.1.1*

This is something I never realized could even be possible with Apple Music until I learned what Apple Music offered. Because Apple Music has so many incredible features with library management Marvis pro utilize all of that to be the best it can possibly be. I’m someone that loves loves quick info but also a nice clean interface. I made my app functional but also so beautiful to me. Sometimes I’m literally stare on how everything looks because of fun it is. It’s not something crazy complicated either because you CAN learn everything IF YOU WANT but you don’t have to because hundreds of other users offer their exact set up from a copy and paste. So you can just have someone else’s whole set up if you don’t wanna go through each little setting. This app has made in my music experience frictionless and fun. 100/10

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Non functional

*2026-05-23, version 10.1.1*

It doesn’t work at all. It can’t play music or sort through menus without crashing. It’s completely useless.

### 1/5 — Complete waste

*2026-04-01, version 10.1.1*

App doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do. Not worth the wasted time or money.

### 1/5 — Nefunguje Last.fm

*2026-03-02, version 10.1.1*

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-02-26, version 10.1.1*

The app costs $10 but you need a Apple Music subscription to use it. You’re just paying extra to listen to music if you buy this. Definitely don’t recommend.

### 1/5 — Overrated

*2026-02-20, version 10.1.1*

I didn’t understand what extra features this app provides comparing to the official apple music app. There are no any recommendations or discovery features, just a different view of your library with quite bad and outdated UI. And this is paid. Worse money spending…

### 1/5 — Not for Sequoia 15.6.1 , Does nothing on launch

*2026-02-12, version 10.1.1*

The app doesn’t seem to open at all, not so much as a flash of the icon on the dock, no matter how I try to launch it (from app store, launcher, or spotlight)

### 1/5 — Harder to use it.

*2025-12-29, version 10.1.1*

First I downloaded my musics and I thought it was a good idea to get this app to listen to it, but it seems impossible to add on app music since marvis only recognized musics inside this app, which makes u pay for two apps in order to use one, honestly I don't mind paying for it. But at least make it easier. Secondly it's incredible harder to add my personal songs, I had one app called poweramp so far in my life the best and simple to use. On iOS I already bought 4 apps to try to listen my music so far not even close to get things done.....

### 1/5 — Scrobbles on last.fm doesn’t work

*2025-12-04, version 10.1.1*

Only purchased this app to scrobble my listening to last.fm - except it only works like 25% of the time. I even tried just leaving the app open, not even in the background. And it still doesn’t do it. What’s even more annoying is that this feature used to work well. And now it just doesn’t. Waste of money.

### 1/5 — Charts não funcionam

*2025-11-14, version 10.1.1*

### 1/5 — Great, but missing playlist songs

*2025-09-04, version 9.6.3*

Edit: Playlist are missing MANY songs. This app is not useable for me.

I’ve had this app for a number of years, but didn’t really use it much. Now my default is starting to get flaky. I now prefer Marvis, but noticed that at least one song in a playlist was missing, despite it appearing in my other app and Apple’s Music app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Worth It 💯

*2026-08-13, version 10.1.1*

Best Music App

### 5/5 — Best Music App

*2026-08-12, version 10.1.1*

This is by far the best music app available for iOS, I haven't touched the stock Music app pretty much since I got it. The customisation options are insane and the UI and UX are just phenomenal. If you listen to your local music library, Marvis is an essential app.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-08-06, version 10.1.1*

if you want something that’ll actually allow you to rediscover old songs out of your library and also organize it; please buy this app. it’s honestly worth a lot more than he’s charging

### 5/5 — amazing

*2026-07-27, version 10.1.1*

best apple music played by far. love how customizable it is and the last fm integration. shoutout to the developer very impressive especially for one guy.

### 5/5 — Best Scrobbler I’ve Used

*2026-07-25, version 10.1.1*

By far the best scrobbler I’ve found for Apple Music. The regex editing truly saves. I don’t use it much as a music player but it works amazing as a scrobbler.

Scrobbles just fine with the app running in the background.

### 5/5 — A rare gem

*2026-07-21, version 10.1.1*

A rare gem of an app that works for you, not against you, allowing you to customise the player to display the information you want (star ratings for me). How software should be! Thank you!

### 5/5 — Invaluable music app

*2026-07-14, version 10.1.1*

Nothing compares to Marvis nothing is better for rediscovering your own music collecting

### 5/5 — Marvis Pro Rocks!

*2026-07-08, version 10.1.1*

Lets you organize/customize your music library into sections so you can quickly just play something. Sort it. Filter it. Search it. View it differently (better). Create tabs with whatever criteria you want. Want just Jazz from the 1950’s, no problem. Want all your Albums organized by year? All your wife’s favourite albums? A playlist that randomly choses 25 Rock songs every time you play it?……. It’s endless.
You can display anything (playlists, songs, genres) as albums covers. And You can display 2, 3, 4 per row.
You can sort by so many more ways than the Apple app.
This app takes away so many Apple Music app limitations. I can view my library much easier. It looks so much better. I can find things much easier.
If you use JRiver or Roon or a product like that, you can do a lot of the things they can do.
I am listening to more music as a result.
It takes a bit to wrap your head around how to do it all, but once you get it, it’s awesome. And so is the support. I had a great back and forth email chain with the developer and learned a lot.

### 5/5 — Underrated, suprised I never heard of it

*2026-07-04, version 10.1.1*

The smart rules are all I ever wanted for apple music, makes shuffle useful by having newly added songs play more often and songs that already played wont play for a while when hitting shuffle (fully customizable)

First thing I did was modify most played to only show the last 6 years. (Don't like the depressing music I spammed 7-8 years ago that filled that playlist and made it useless) I have so many ideas about how to rediscover songs I've forgotten, I was already going through my library andthis makes it so much easier.

(You technically can do this all for free using shortcuts but it's a hassle to setup and modify)
