But one problem i have is drama and how mean people are. I never start drama, EVER but somehow i always find my way into it, mainly defending people. People are homophobic, disrespectful, transphobic and racist on this app. I also don’t know why i can’t log into my mascot account. It says “User with the specified host name cannot be found” And i would love to know why. I’m not a bad person on the app, i usually just chill and relaxed, i mainly only talk to my friends and my boyfriend on the app, so i would love to know why it’s not like; working. I spent a year in the app and i never experienced a problem like this, i put a lot of time and effort into making my characters and the fact that i now can’t log into my account gives me the ick. ### 4/5 — My account was banned?! *2023-08-23* Overall, I would like to give this app a 4 star rating because although the negativity I’ve witnessed is heavy, the amount of wonderful roleplayers I’ve been exposed to is amazing. However, today when I went to go on my account it’s saying, “Error; A server with the specified hostname could not be found.” ?? I have never (and will never) tried to delete my account before. Unless I was hacked I can’t think of an explanation because I have never upset someone on that app before. I’ve never even really had a true friendship with anyone off of that app. I tried to log in with different emails and it’s all saying the same thing. I don’t know Mascot, I’m just confused and would really like my account back, please and thank you. ### 4/5 — Great app, but does new improvements… *2023-07-26* I really love the app and how it develops creativity and social skills. However, there are two things I don’t like about this app. One of them is the image restriction. It’s kind of annoying when you have to send 10 messages in order to text a photo to someone and sometimes it doesn’t even work work and I’ll be in all end up texting more than just 10 messages another thing that really annoys me is is wondering if people are online or offline, I wish you were some kind of system where you can see a little green dot indicating that they are online and a red one for when they’re offline. But on favor I hope you enjoy this up and it helped me and my love for Roleplaying and meeting new people. ^w^ ### 3/5 — fix the new update! *2023-06-23* Mascot overall is a good app. There are some ups and downs with it but it has a goal. The only problem, to me, is the new update. we now have to press every character we have to hide it. I feel that is unnecessary. I have 50+ oc’s, all in which are active and eligible for roleplay. I do not like all of my characters showing, as it doesnt make sense to show all these other things if its not needed. By me having so many characters, its hard for me to find time to scroll and hide every single one of them. It was much more easier to just click and have them all hidden. Its too much of a hassle to have to check every last one. I feel this feature was unnecessary and does more harm than good. ### 3/5 — To many bugs *2023-05-08* Hello mascot I wanted to tell you about these bugs. Today I updated the app and it was working perfectly until a few hours later it was being slow. Everything kept reloading and I couldn’t even see anything it was just a blank black page and a loading circle. Once mascot fully loaded I went to answer my dms and tried to send a message and it kept loading so I closed out the app and went back in to go to a gc I’m in. It keeps loading and loading until it stops loading and in the chat I see multiple people saying “mascot has been being slow recently” I tried to agree with them but it didn’t let me reply or send a message. It’s not my internet either it doesn’t matter what internet I use it still does this. Please fix this mascot THANK YOU!!! ### 4/5 — Love it but… *2023-01-18, version 4.8.5* The app itself is pretty cool. The people are super nice and I’ve already made a couple of amazing friends. My problem is that there’s always a pop-up, whenever I try to switch channels, that state “error”. And then when I reload the app it continuously starts loading for what feels like a whole year. But after a while the app will work just fine but still continue to do this over and over. Every time I try to start texting in a gc channel, it’ll give me that pop up again. I press okay again then let it load and do it’s thing then all the sudden it works just fine. If I’m gonna be honest this gets pretty annoying after a while. But that’s not my only complaint. Whenever I try to change the colors of my text bubbles for my different characters it won’t load. Every button I press won’t do anything to change it. I don’t know how to fix this honestly. I give this review four stars mostly because the app is great and so are the people who use it, it’s just that there are way too many things that need to be fixed and it gets a tad bit infuriating sometimes. Thank you for your time, please try to put some effort into fixing the app ### 3/5 — LOTS of glitches. *2022-12-29, version 4.8.5* No, it’s not my internet. It does this no matter what internet I’m connected to. Even someone other than mine. First off, let’s start with messages. There are two glitches. One: The number of messages. It said one at first, nothing was there. It said two, nothing was there. Now it says four, and still no messages are there. I’ve read them all, and I’ve checked multiple times. Two: Errors. When I click on someone’s profile, there’s about a 90% chance it’s gonna say “Error” or “Unacceptable request”, something like that. (bonus glitch) Another one, when I click on someone’s profile, (again) it will make EVERYTHING disappear. No messages at all. I have to delete the tab for the app in order for it to work again, but this applies to all glitches. Sometimes it’ll even say “Our servers are down” or something. Another one, the notifications. They’re on. I’ve redownloaded and deleted the app. They don’t work. Sometimes they will, but that’ll be for like one or two notifications. Maybe even more, but please fix this. All you need to do for the messages is put a read all button. It will literally solve this problem SO fast. ### 5/5 — Glitch? *2022-10-03, version 4.7.9* So I’ve been using this app for about a month I downloaded it because one of my online friends was quitting a website and told me they’d be using this app and so I downloaded it and became I love with it I use it every day but today I went in it and a glitch happened were all of my messages deleted and I got scared that I got banned I didn’t it went back to normal a few minutes later but I was a little scared wondering if you could fix that ### 5/5 — Suggestion *2022-08-25, version 4.7.6* I've had a lot of good Roleplays on this app, ones that couldn't be published. I wished i could see the roleplays again but don't feel like screen recording everything, I forget to a lot anyway. I was wondering if there could be a way to record of have some kind of copy of the roleplay that won't be published and you could keep it to yourself if you ever wanted to read it again. I'm starting to think this is a lot to ask, but I was just suggesting. Thank you. ### 3/5 — Bad but good *2022-07-29, version 4.7.3* I love this app but it should be 17+ because of the bad stuff that goes on here but anyways my name is Olivia this app is fun me and my friend both have this app but me and her get cyber bullied on it and stuff I know people just do it as a joke so it’s not bad but some of peoples profiles are also dirty and bios and some of the role plays people do are kinda nasty Good stuff This is a very fun app I can’t say that much good stuff about it tho because a lot of it is just inappropriate things but you can make nice friends and meet kind people maybe you could try to ban some of the inappropriate people but over all I love this app if you could delete the kinda inappropriate groups but also 12+ isn’t right for this app because people make fun of you if your 13 on the app what is kinda weird but tho I love your app Just make things kid appropriate for 12+ if that’s the age limit you have to be. ### 3/5 — Wish we could see comments *2022-05-09, version 4.6.8* It’s alright, pretty easy to use but one I thing I would love. Is to be able to see the comments. I have comments but I can’t read them. If the authors of stories could see the comments that would be nice because maybe they could get more ideas or get constructive criticism from being able to see the comments. That’s my only problem is not being able to read the comments. It had broke down at 6:15pm and it’s still not working all the bugs is ridiculous. I thought of deleting the app then redownloading it, and now I can’t even log back into my account. It’s been down for a long time and there is no update so I don’t know what y’all are doing but this bug needs to be fixed. There is no reason an app should be broken down without an update. Me and many other people couldn’t get to our DMs. Now we are worried that everything we’ve worked hard for is going to be gone by the time this matter is fixed. If there is a bug or even if it’s being hacked this matter needs to be delt without a update on what’s going on. We have no idea what’s going on and no one has said anything. I’ve been on this app for almost a year and now I don’t know what’s going on. If it’s an update can you let me or others know because this is honestly a lack of communication. ### 1/5 — Trash *2022-06-29, version 4.7.2* Why is this app 12+ if it has nudity, drugs, and stuff then worry about pedos and racist people on the app when you’re letting little kids be prone to seeing these things and then experience things they don’t need to. There’s people who lie about their age so how does taking the dm page stops that. The dm page was the only thing people wanted be on the app for if you pay attention to the app not a lot people are active on it like it used to be, instead of trying to be like Wattpad you guys should of made changes to the dm page that detects something is wrong or get a company full of mascotteers you trust instead of random people on the app because I’m pretty sure there was problems with that too. You might as close all the stories too because people can Cyberbully in group chat too. Matter of fact throw the whole app away you were doing great until you took the dm page off, how do you expect us to socialize when 9 times outta 10 people don’t even join the group chats or even active at this point. ### 1/5 — mascot *2021-06-15, version 4.4.6* The app is good and easy to use but idk what’s up the mascoteers. I went to the leader Toji i think for help and never got a response. They Really dont help and I don’t like the new team due to how some of the mascoteers in their team I’ve seen how they’ve acted outside of they went the abuse of power. I think there shouldn’t be mascoteers at all and I also think there should be a section of were we can find roleplayers because everyone is always talking on the dm page we never can find roleplayers. There’s definitely cyber bullying and harassment on the app but luckily we can block but sometimes the report button doesn’t work. That’s all anyways besides that the app is good and easy to use ^^ ### 2/5 — mascot ..? *2023-09-04* I do not have hate towards this app it’s good and all but there be pedos , young people on here , racist people spamming about black people and me im black myself . their is too much ads! there are even nasty ones . in gcs people be cussing and arguing about stupid stuff and other stuff like that . mascot do better bc there be pedos on this app trying to get with older or younger people!’ there was this one girl in my dms trying to get with me and she kept lying and changing her age , and trying to get with me and she was sending nudes to a 8 year old on here! i would say probably no ads and also y’all keep updating it and it’s really annoying about the update and keep having to leave the app over and over again and trying to get it back . but for honestly , this app is really good , you can chat with people and make new friends! even gcs and ( argue with ppl teehee 😋 ) . i really recommend this app if u feel lonely or need somebody to talk to or also js here to talk and feel free! i really give this app a 3 or a 4. and i think the dm page is a little too muchhhh … the people dming u saying weird stuff that u don’t be liking i really recommend u to have like a “ delete dm “ when people dm u , n u can either delete it or keep it and rp or talk with the person. this is my opinion btw no hate on this app. and i think u should put it to like 13+ or so. ### 2/5 — New mascot(?) *2023-08-08* i've been on this app for almost like three years now and not once have I had to deal with so much that I'm dealing with now on this app the plots profile thing y'all decided to make makes it hard for me to click on a persons profile and read what I need to read before I talk to them like their triggers and their name their pronouns whatever they have on there I cannot read it because sometimes their characters are hidden because it automatically hides your characters and because of the plots thing i cant see the character they are on. I don't know where it came from, but it's absolutely disturbing like I don't like it. Most of us don't like it. you know making profiles is like you can make your own profile with all the plots, we don't need a whole separate thing for plots. also, the other day I got an ad when I tried to make a character and when i click other people's profile I get ads on the bottom?! usually I can text you guys about this stuff like back in the day I used to text you want issues and they would be fixed like within two days but now since you have a lot of people using your app, you can barely reply to anyone else ? your app is going badly. We don't need that plots stuff. I dm page or the tinder knock off was so much better ### 2/5 — glitches and concerns *2022-09-30, version 4.7.8* When it comes to editing bio or trying to scroll in a message, the scrolling function does not work for some reason. I believe this strange glitch happened during the newest update. Other than that, I wish there was some kind of age restriction— something where if you input your age, you only get to swipe on people who are in your similar age group. There is a LOT of adult content on this app, yet while swiping I see a lot of children using this app as well. It’d be weird (and borderline online grooming) if a 30+ year old man RPs explicit content with a 14 year old minor, you know? Pls do something about this before a child ends up with online trauma 😅 ### 2/5 — Love it but, *2022-03-08, version 4.6.3* First if all there are pedophiles,racist people, and cyber bullying but i really love the app. I am just confused why I was banned from mascot right after updating one of my characters, I assume it is from me getting kicked out of so many servers but that was their choice which i did not have a problem with. I would just like my account back because i really enjoyed it , thank you for your time if you are reading this. Goodbye. Update: When i signed back on it deleted all of my stories and when i search it up and people up it does not let me see the ones that i used to be in / know . And I really cared about those people and were really close to them. Which I could tell everyone goodbye but I know that can’t happen. Im going to delete mascot now because this is just making me so sad and angry right now. You may help the problem , developers, but I will not be coming back to mascot anytime soon. Take care friend! ### 2/5 — It’s gone downhill *2022-02-15, version 4.6.1* I don’t want to write a death threat to this app because I already know it’s been reported and there wasn’t much we could do to stop that but please, please bring back the dm page. It was so nice to have and I know there’s ways to moderate what people put on there, like maybe taking out the option to add pictures (to avoid explicit content) maybe even aging up this app because it’s obvious there’s younger kids on here who have their phones monitored. It’s so bad now, it’s glitchy and I cant make characters with my story line any longer (if you make something more than five sentences it will just automatically delete). After reading the comments I’m scared to delete it because I don’t want to have to deal with bugs and not being able to get back into my account. I miss being able to do one on ones with people, being able to look for a partner to rp with and now you can’t do that. This update is probably the worst update. Now everyone is leaving and trying to migrate to another app that’s similar to this (Amino, KIK, etc.). You created the separated oc bio system where we can individually use each oc, the partner finder, amazing server designs and easy app to get into. People have put SO MUCH work into their OCs and bios, and I, being one if those who’ve put my heart and soul into the RPs and OCs from this app, was heartbroken to see the “Mascot is shutting down” message. We’re trying to do GoFundMe’s, we’re signing a petition, and we’re sharing all of this so we can keep your app running. It brought so many people together, and we only have a couple of days to talk to each other before it closes forever? Give us longer! I know money comes into the equation, but this app (in my eyes) is perfection with the way everything works. People will be losing all of their hard work in this app, and universes where OCs come to meet each other will be gone. Just take this into consideration, Mascot. So, I deleted the app and reinstalled it after a month or so, and then it keeps saying “ A server with the specified Hostname could not be found. “ and I can’t log in at all, and can’t get back into my account, I tried so many times. But overall, it is a very fun game and good to play when bored, you can join so many GC’s, write your own little story, and all that, especially the best place to make friends, and of course, Roleplay. Thanks for this wonderful app, and hopefully I can get back into my account soon bc I miss talking to my friends in here 🥲. ### 5/5 — Loving my current rps, yet I miss the channels *2023-07-12* I was in the middle of relaxing without doing much typing on a group chat on the app, and then I noticed how others can’t see the channels and start saying there was a new update. I personally didn’t believe it since I thought my phone would hopefully not update to the current version, but unfortunately it had and now I’m struggling to get a break at replying with less detail on a roleplay group. I know I haven’t used this app for a year, but now I’m just really confused because why take away the channels for the updated people? Is one of my first questions I have when looking at the current situation. And also, the plots make no sense because first, there were finders on there to help roleplayers find specific things. I know we can add a background, but what about putting pictures with the text. ### 5/5 — I love it *2023-02-21* So all the bugs that people have been talking about are fixed and we are allowed to dm they are chats with explicit consent but it has a warning so you don’t unknowingly get ambushed with it and when you are in those chats there are a great number of people trying to make sure people aren’t bullied and that people under 18 stay out of these chats you can find so many people who are interested in pretty much any fandom as you it’s truly amazing the bonds I’ve formed with people on this app I personally enjoy the smaller community as opposed to other social media platforms people usually respect your boundaries too ### 5/5 — Amazing! *2023-01-22, version 4.8.5* This app is so fun and amazing, nothing bothers me. Except for the fact that when I send something, sometimes it sends it but doesn’t show. So I re-send what I said and not know I sent the same thing twice. The people have grown to be more rude over the years. It’s somewhat sad. As an ‘OG’ of Mascot, I have to disagree with the hatred most people have for Mascoteers. Some are bad, yes. But honestly some are amazing. Really. This app is good at helping those in need, especially Mascot their self. The ability to make as many characters or OCS as you want is applaudable. Really, I just hope this app continues what it’s doing. Mascot honestly saved me. I met so many people here, and they helped me. If you’re scrolling through reviews right now I’d definitely say download the app. ### 5/5 — GREAT AND FUN APP! *2023-01-16, version 4.8.5* Mascot is a over all good app, not many issues and it runs pretty smoothly, one good thing about it is unlike other apps you don’t need wifi to run it which can help a lot if you’re out and you want to keep talking to your online friends! The app is really easy to use and easy to make friends on, i find it really fun and entertaining especially if you have nothing better to do you can open the app and have a wide variety of options to cure your boredom. I personally 100% recommended people downloading the app! ### 5/5 — The Best for Roleplaying! *2023-01-09, version 4.8.5* I have been using Discord to roleplay for almost 3 years now, but since I got introduced to Mascot it has been much easier and organized. Everything is amazing inside the app; the people, the categories. . all of it. Tho. . there are some issues that are really bugging me and the people I role with. Sometimes, the app lit doesn’t load, doesn’t send responses and- well, it’s like a net error but the net it’s fine; it happens even with the whole 5 lines of net. Now, a lil thing that can be added is the option to DELETE stories and not giving the ownership to another person to be able to leave being the only option. For now, it’s all I got to say. Keep the good work! ✨ ### 5/5 — Fun— And Better Than Discord! *2023-01-04, version 4.8.5* This is just my personal experience/thoughts, and I'll try to keep it simple. I've seen many more bad people using Discord than Mascot (I love both), and although I've been using Discord for years and Mascot for weeks, I'm starting to prefer Mascot because most people on here are nice and caring and here just to roleplay and chat. The few people that aren't, are easy to block and ban from groups. I will say this though, the app can be challenging to figure out for a bit. I still don't fully comprehend some terms used, but maybe it's user error. I feel like a tutorial could be useful, especially if it's simple. Another possible way to fix this would be to just have an icon somewhere that has a link to a "FAQ" or something of the sort. Otherwise, I genuinely love this app, and even got a friend to download it! The only other problems I've had are certain groupchats still sending notifications after I've muted them, and the app glitching every now and then and sending messages twice. Also, while I have people's attention, remember to drink water and eat food and take medicine as necessary, if available of course.
